Poses and options, really. DI ones pretty much come with the best equipment. Stalkers and heavy incinerators can be more useful for long range shooting, but at rapid fire range the bolt rifle and regular incinerator wipe the floor with them.

It's weird the Hellblaster kit doesn't come with the regular plasma incinerator option, just the assault and heavy options. Even the store image uses DI Hellblasters. Personally I'm looking into converting DI incinerators into heavy incinerators.

Just using drab olive tones will get you a lot of the way there and the easiest way to get some weathering along those lines is to do the sponge paint chip effect (check Duncs video on weathering guard tanks) using a normal brown paint. If you really want that even, fine-grained dusty effect though the real way to do it is with weathering powders.

Thats all I have for right now. I'm looking to run some space sharks using Raven Guard tactics since that's their founding chapter. I don't really know where to go from there though. I'm still pretty new, especially to Space Marines, so I'm not sure what would be good to round this out. I want to go for a balanced force that can take on all comers as my area seems to have fairly balanced representation. I played a bit of Orks before but I hated moving so many boyz every single turn so I was hoping to cut back on the total model count for this army. I also fucking love the look of a Knight and I kind of want to paint one up like my pic to fit with the space shark theme.

They got rebalanced, same as everyone else. Right now they're pretty solidly mid-tier. Also keep in mind that the difference between high and low tiers is WAY smaller in 8th than it was in 7th.

Riptide got hit the hardest, but we all saw that coming. Current cost makes it an inefficient fire platform, but it's quite tanky for its cost.

Gun Drones, especially with DC, are fantastically efficient.

Markerlights are weirder. Table of bonuses instead of flat BS bonus. On the flipside, they're cheaper, easier to get, and can be used by multiple units in a single shooting phase. So not a nerf, just different. No longer required to saturate enemies at all times, but a nice boost.

Commanders are undercosted right now, while Crisis are a bit undercosted. You can have all of your hardpoints as weapons, and splitfire, so the Commander's 4 hardpoints and BS 2+ are very very good. The only thing that regular Crisis are better at is triflamer suits. Fusion quadmander is considered waac, especially if couples with stealth suit homing beacon for maximum "Psssh Nothin Personnel". 3*MP+ATS is very good as well.

ATS is great.

Sniper Drones useful due to enemies like Guard where you really need to take down commissars and commanders. They take more effort and planning to use than other snipers, though. You really need both a firesight marksman and a DC to make them worth the points.

Most stuff is viable in some context, just need tweaks. Kroot good for screening, sunshark great anti-horde, vespids efficient vs MEQ, even the firewarrior alternatives are worth something in the right circumstances. GW is also being very active with FAQ hot-fixes and responding to community concerns, along with a promise of yearly points updates. Any really serious issues of units being under or overpowered are likely to be fixed. The weird crisis/commander thing is almost certainly going to be fixed when the T'au codex drops.

They also lack Signature Systems and Vehicle Systems right now, but at least Signature Systems are likely to make a comeback in the codex.

Any Death Guard people here? How are you thinning of running your dudes?

The new Melee weapons seem like a huge trap and red herring since your stats are not melee centric, leave that to poxwalkers or another legion.

With that in mind, how would you go about arming your dudes? The new flamers seem quite cool, for 1 and 2 points more than their normal versions, you get 1" range more and Plague Weapon. You could go plasma guns which are just reliable though I'm not seeing many ways to reroll ones for Death Guard. Blight launchers seem great, reliable 2 shots, good stats. Not sure melta guns are appropriate on Death Guard, they're a bit too slow.

Finally, would you put anything on your champion? You can give him a power fist. You can also give him a plasma gun/pistol.

Personally, because I've got two sets of DI and one of the mini sets, I'll have 1 group of DG with 3 plasma and then maybe make all the rest blight launchers.
