Where's a cheap perk that allows me to hit people with lethal magic/power and not kill them?
>>
>>54710986
Elona and Ben 10 have perks like that
>>
>>54710986
Tranquilisers from Carnivores?
It's the only thing that comes to mind. I'm not sure whether you'd call it 'cheap' though.
>>
>>54710986
Zenryoku Zenkai (Drop-In 400) from Lyrical Nanoha
Great Responsbility (Drop-In 300) from the Avengers jump alternatively lets you calculate how to hold back.
>>
What jumps have stables to keep horses and other things?

>>54711014
Thanks, the one from Nanoha is perfect.
>>
Does the Needle Grail from Genius the Transgression also work on bardos and manes?

Also, if I make something while inside a bardo, is it a mane or a wonder?
>>
>>54711063
Heads up, Zenroyku Zenaki is Drop-In 200 not 400. Made a mistake here >>54711014

Just popping in for a sec to get an opinion from thread.

So shen energy comes in 3 main flavors from what we are seeing in the story.

1 seems to be a mixture of the three powers (which are basically mind body spirit) this path takes and combines your three powers i to shen energy and gives you more shen depending on which of the three is cultivated the lowest, this is a bit harder to attain than other shen methodologies however you do not need worship or sacrifices to get shen power.

Shen Temple/Totem warrior basically it seems you build a temple and either you or others sacrifice to you to gain belief, this is the original way though from what I can tell itdoesnt seem to be much faster than the other paths.

Then you have shen power cultivated in items either via shen glyphs or the weapon being made with shen energy somehow, for instanve a sword that drinks the blood of those you cut with it to turn it into shen energy or creating a talisman that burns shen but also helps culticate it.

Seeing how it appears shen was the original path (which we knew) and all paths are outcroppings from it which can also be flat improved by it I was of two minds.

Either I can add it to the cultivation table or I can add it as a buy item (general buy item) and raise the item stipend which was already planned and just word it so that it works as a flat boost to your cultivation method.

Also either make it multiple items, to buy multiple shen methodologies, or just have a slightly higher price and say "yeah shen does this and if you study this item it makes your cultivation a lot better"

Either way what do you guys think?
>>
>>54711087
Eating breakfast so I guess skimming the forums is a good thing.

Anyway, the Needle Grail will effect Bardos and Manes you personally bought or created. If you make something in a Bardo then its just whatever it is, but if it needs Mania to contenue being SCIENCE when you exit a Bardo then it's a Wonder, if it was a living being born of SCIENCE, then it's a Mane.
>>
>“Hey, can this be used to purchase Zeref Dragneel, Mavis Vermillion, or Acnologia?” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! But more seriously, no. Just... just no. This is something I'm not budging on. No, not even then. No, not even if you pull that off.
Was Wakfu autistic? You can easily get stronger than any of these guys,
>>
>>54711197
Bear in mind the time it was made in. Both for the manga and the thread.
>>
>>54711177
Shen gong wu?
>>
>>54711177
>I can add it as a buy item (general buy item) and raise the item stipend which was already planned and just word it so that it works as a flat boost to your cultivation method.
Personally, I lean towards this.

Thanks for all your hard work Aionon. I'm really looking forward to this.
>>
>>54711211
I mean, sure. But even then it was obvious that Natsu had the potential to shit on these people, simply because he's the MC and Dragon Slayer Magic is objectively the best.
>>
Honestly, there are a lot of reasons for why the Fairy Tail jump should get an update, but the biggest one is that the best magic is missing from it. I mean, who doesn't want orgasm magic?
>>
>>54711224
Shen, it is basically a type of belief energy, kinda cool really. From world of cultivation.

>>54711228
Thats what Im leaning towards.
>>
jesus christ... i only make the one post, come back an hour later and now im being demonised for asking 'is fairy tail getting an update'...

So someone mentioned last thread how Dragonslayer magic would let you absorb other elements and be able to use them, is this true or did I misunderstand what they said?
>>

How about making a sentient planet Orgasm ?
>>
>>54711303
No no no, you wouldn't use it on your partner. You'd use it against your enemies. It's objectively the best way to fight.
>>
>>54711197
to be fair, even by the end of the manga it took near the entire continent to defeat acnologia, so they are basically at a whole different level to the rest of the jump
>>
>>54711331
That's true, but it apparently only works if that element was created by another Dragon Slayer, and there seems to be a cap of only one additional element.
>>
>>54711303

>>54711334
Could there be any more humiliating way to be defeated than induced orgasm? Can any villain remain scary and intimidating when you've just seen them cream their pants and make wierd faces for no apparent reason?
I want this.
>>
How hard is Acnologia to kill anyway?
>>
>>54711331
a canon example is natsu with Laxus's lightning magic. also, according to acnologia's wiki page, he gained immunities to most magics by 'bathing in the blood of countless dragons'or something
>>

>>

Are the vampires in blade dead or just infected ?
>>
>>54711696
I use to do it a lot though less so nowdays. My favorite manner of empowering people is via potions, almost any magic I have can be made into a potion and a few tech things can too thanks to nanobots son of course you have to convince the person to drink the lukewarm blood colored viscous fluid, but thats easy when you prove it works.
>>
>>54711696
>Have you ever empowered other people acting as their source of power?

Have you seen what I do in kamen rider? mainly I make more kamen riders to fight for justice, hell I even have a race of first circle demons who act as driver belts.

>Who was the champion that you were more fond of?

Surprisingly enough Tohog The Joker he was one of the Uruks I redirected towards justice in middle earth: shadow of Shadow of Mordor, as kamen rider Bio.
>>

>I even have a race of first circle demons who act as driver belts.
Oh, like the bat drivers from Kiva. Nice.
Hope you made them so they don't use those stupid whistles, though.
>>
>>54711789
They are alive, and not all of them are infected. "Pure bloods are born-vampires, offspring that were conceived between two turn-blood or born vampires."
>>
>>54711888
There are much more classic Showa style meets Gigeresk Shaping, coloration and lines. Think Kamen Rider Black RX meets Shin meets a Xenomorph. Their abilities are Mostly physical enhancement, but with some spirit charms for attack, willpower and defense. and they have no gimmicks, just a high baseline

Hamon would work fine, a UV light works pretty well, and Hamon is more effective at replicating the power of sunlight than that.

Is there any jump that offers cheap shapeshifting? Something around 200 CP.

No. They're pretty much killing machines made of diamond and angst. They'd still be able to hear and smell you, which would be more than enough for them to find you before their eyesight kicks back in, if it ever even left.
>>
>>54712091
No, but get yourself some potent telekinesis and pyrokinesis from somewhere. Because apparently you can't just light them on fire, you have to rip them to pieces first, though they burn super fast if you do. You'd also need super speed reaction times as well though, because they are bullshit fast too.

It works on undead in jojo because the undead are weak to the sun.
Twilight vampires aren't weak to the sun.
And "while Ripple energy is strong enough to smash through rock and brick, it is unable to smash through stronger substances like iron or steel." So don't expect to use its physical power to do anything, either.

>>
How are items supposed to work. Do you get them back at beginning of each jump unless origin jump says otherwise?
>>
>>54712253
They're weak to fire, but they can only be burnt after you rip them to pieces. The author even insists they could tank nukes, though that isn't shown anywhere in the books so I'd discount it, but it does explain part of what the fuck she was thinking.
>>
>>54712457
No, but that's a very common house rule, because without it items often aren't worth buying over perks.
>>
>>54712479
That's a setting I'm applying Unreliable Canon from Alt-Chain Builder to, because that's retarded.

>>
>>54712551
Point.
>>
>>54712536
They do show though that you have to rip them to pieces before you burn them though. It comes up at one point in the forth book, you can't just light them on fire, but if you tear one to pieces fast enough and them hit them with fire you can apparently burn one of them faster than other vampires can react.

>autistic

Maybe. He was gullible, naive, depressed, and prone to taking everything personally, though.

Really, Timmy's inquisition found the perfect target. Someone who would take everything said at face value, had some actual skeletons in their closet that even they had forgotten about, and wasn't aggressive or jaded enough to really strike back.

Stack the increasing frequency of emotional breakdowns with this and you get someone who would feel like the entire thread pretended to be his friends for two years just to backstab him later. Entirely legitimate grievances that could have been addressed separately and maturely got mixed into the whirlwind smear campaign and every attempt at compromise got rebuffed. It's easy to see why he left, it just wasn't worth it to stay anymore.

The whole thing is sad, really. A lot of things will go unfinished or unmade. He mentioned having plans for Nexo Knights, and if it was anything like Chima it would at least be passable. Ninjago was getting a massive overhaul, but now nobody'll ever bother to update it. Age of Empires III will literally never be finished. That we got Battleborn at all is a miracle, and nobody's going to touch Sonic SatAM for fear of being crucified.

Just through magic alone, a whole new place by itself? I'm not really certain. Most of the methods we have operate off an anchor system, like creating a pocket plane, which requires there to be some other plane that it exists off of, although it is (usually) mobile. You can find spells like those pretty easily, like in Harry Potter or D&D, operating off of Bag of Holding logic. You make an entrance to a pocket plane and expand it, though destroying the thing that's acting as its anchoring point also usually destroys the plane.

In what way?

It's a series of observations made by anons, and largely adds up, but is not acknowledged by the author or universe in any way. Also, I'm pretty sure Hiashi doesn't actually appear in Shippuden, given that he largely exists in story as a means to provide Hyuuga angst.

In canon he probably didn't plan any of this shit, if only because Kishimoto doesn't plan shit out that well, but that doesn't mean things didn't work out for him in an incredible way. And because Hiashi doesn't really show up or do anything in the story past some establishing scenes, there's nothing that really contradicts it.

WoW question, could an Undead Paladin use [Initiation] on themselves to benefit from Light-based healing and stuff again?

I want a holy skeleton companion. Thinking of having his backstory be that he was a Paladin who took The Lion from the North too literal, his now-skeletal form getting back up after dying to keep fighting through sheer force of will and faith.

If I show up in Overlord as a level 1-10 scrub Player at Carne Village and meet with Ains with the friends with the Devil Perk what would his reaction be? Would he treat me as equal-ish and be happy that there is another Player around. Or would he be unable to empathize with me because I'm so weak?

There were, presumably, lots of weaker players in the MMO he was playing. It's an MMO. Newbies are always a thing no matter what you're doing.
Anyway, Ainz would probably empathize with you a LOT, actually. His whole backstory as a player was that he kept getting ganked and murdered as a newbie until a cool guy took pity on him and helped him rise up to ultra cool skeleman. So, if you were a super weak player, and weren't an asshole to him or his NPCs (even if his NPCs are assholes), he'd probably:
1) Be totally psyched that there's another player around, and
2) Maybe even think of himself as a sortof protector/mentor for you just as Touch Me was for him.

If you look up to him as a mentor, even the NPCs and their yandere ways might be okay with you, since you're clearly not trying to influence him or anything.
You'd be a bright spot in his quiet little Skeleman heart.

I say all this not having watched or read any of the series myself, so take it with a grain of salt.
>>
>>54714649
Combos are long since errata'd out, and even before that they could use the same charm multiple times. So that wouldn't help that (though it'd still be good because lots of attacks is nice, sure).

Choose one. Proving you're a player is one thing, but asking equal treatment at such low level is out the question. You'll be his best pet though.

Don't worry look at Hamsuke she's his pet & she gets treated well. Maybe someday if he can train you well enough you'll move on to be someone he respects. Only way to be an equal in Ainz's eyes would've been part the AoG Guild.

Hrmmm

The intent with Initiation was to use it on other people and beings, as sort've an explanation for why the hell there was a holy / Light-shrouded Nathrezim of all sodding things. At the same time, not much I can see wrong with someone doing that to themselves, and it's not like another companion / the Jumper themselves couldn't just Initiate him anyway.

Most jumps nowadays simply put a basic fee for anyone. Then its up to you to convince them.

Thread's pretty dead right now, so have a new World Seed chapter: https://royalroadl.com/fiction/4242/world-seed/chapter/153362/chapter-208-loose-ends

Hitting the level cap/universal grove level boosts you quite a bit apparently, with a mana sense the range of a parsec, the ability to easily take a planet in your grove and tear apart all the demons on it in seconds. And with the companion AIs being further confirmed to basically be the perfect friend/lover/butler/whatever (depending on what you need at the time), World Seed should shape up to be an excellent starting/early jump that still offers quite a bit of power.

Yeah, that's because his status as a skeleton puts a cap on his emotions, right? If he feels something too strongly, it kicks in and knocks him back down to a baseline.

So probably "psyched" is the wrong word to use, but he'd still be predisposed to empathizing and helping you as long as you didn't give him a reason not to.
>>
>>54714980
But Paladins and Death Knights are inherently mutually exclusive. You CANNOT be both a Paladin and a Death Knight due to the magic that is used to create Death Knights. It's impossible, and there's no way you could create a coherent backstory for whatever abortion of a character it might be.

So, Ains is kind of complicated skeleton. Although he acts like he is unable to empathize with people outside his guild we can clearly see that's bullshit because he helped out Carne village when they were being slaughtered and wanted revenge after the Swords of Darkness were killed.

That being said as a Lich his emotions have been dulled and considering that the people he hangs out with are pretty much all crazy his ability to empathize has gone down the toilet latter on.

However considering that this Jumper showed up way in the beginning AND has the Friends with the Devil perk they're probably Golden.

If they have charisma/social perks they definitely could make friends with him. While Ains is strong enough to take on entire countries by himself he is pretty bad at social interactions.

As an added bonus a Jumper would for sure get in the good graces of both him and all of Nazarick if they could help with his boner issue. Even Albedo would have a positive disposition to them after that.

You see, players get strong pretty quickly because back in the game gaining experience was pretty easy (to the point that losing 5 levels by using some abilities or dying wasn't that much of a problem), so if you train by fighting gobs and some monsters you will be on a considerable level pretty quickly. I don't know if you can't reach the level 100 without some serious genocide or someone letting you kill a considerable number of high-powered beings. So that part shouldn't trouble you.

Now, Ainz will probably be pretty happy to have someone like you around. The time he enjoyed the most in the game wasn't the raids or the PVP, but spending time with his guildmates talking about trivial things like work, personal live or whatever. He can't do that with the NPCs nor with the NWs because they neither have the same mentality than him as a Japanese salaryman nor can he let down his facade of supreme leader for a second let he disappoint his friends' creations. Seriously, he doesn't like what he is doing right now at all.
He just want to adventure and talk about stupid things with his friends.
He is only doing it because he doesn't want the last string that he has to his old life abandon him, although the NPCs wouldn't care what he actually does as long as they are there to serve him, he is trying his best to fit their expectations as a ruler.

So, in short: yes. The perk assures that your meeting and relationships will be good as long as you don't directly go against Ainz or the NPCs, so if you keep your head down with most of the slaughter and simply smile and try to fit in as an apprentice/friend, you will probably be able to pull it off without a problem.

NuBee, I can't tell if you're joking or not, so this being Jumpchain I'm just going to assume you're being very literal and explain to you that eggdrop soup is a particular type of soup made predominantly from eggs and maybe some extraneous spices.
It's kindof like if you took all the egg yolks, converted them into pure liquid, and then added a bunch of salt.

ASA fucking hates it with a shitposter's fury, while I think it's one of the best things you can eat.

What you are describing is not eggdrop soup, but rather, is just "dropping an egg into soup". They are totally different.

Konata here! Yes, ASA hates chinese food. Or rather, he hates the Americanized fast food version of chinese food.

I'm just gonna put this out there and state that I am a complete trash mammal. I consider poptarts to be a major food group, and keep hotsauce packets from fast food places to use later in ramen. I've eaten scrapple. As a jumper, I still make heavy use of a microwave. My tastes are a garbage fire.

ASA, meanwhile, is some kind of actual gourmet, and he takes his food very seriously. He's got, like, spices and shit, and will rant about textures. Like, I pride myself on trying to understand people to a greater or lesser degree, and I legit can't even fucking what.

One thing that needs to be covered looks to be that CP bought stuff (Bardos, wonders, etc) has it's Mania needs covered by the benefactor.

Another is what happens to Havoc inside a Bardo, and what happens and what happens to stuff brought outside a Bardo. Does everything become a mane, only stuff made of bardo created matter (shipping in dirt to grow crops would leave you with normal crops), only the fantastic stuff that requires fantastic physics?

As for what i'd change, pretty much nothing. I'm already writing my chain as if I'd be jumping for real.

My favorite meal right now is the orange chicken you can buy at trader joes which is really just fried chicken with an orange sauce. I do like Pick Up Stix, though. Too bad none of the recipes I find online for the house special sauce seem accurate.

That probably says a lot about my tastes.

Might be covered under bodymod, but honestly that's what I was thinking of as a major barrier. It's not a huge concern for me though, I might just save it until I went to VtM:B or something where biology doesn't matter anymore. Now the question is whether or not I'd go for very charismatic build with bodymod and give into newfound vanity that I feel like I'd fall into once I became the fairer sex, or just go straight muscle-woman. Not something I'd ordinarily consider, but a character in a game I'm playing makes me want to make an exception.

Assuming you want to be a Player? Go somewhere like Young Justice first for toggle, don't take the drawback that removes out of jump powers, and enter the jump with toggle set to have all new powers disabled by default.

Not as much as you'd think. My main chains are all self-insert to one degree or another. It would greatly depend on the kind of Benefactor I ended up with though. A really cruel one would see me dashing for some of the higher powered options a lot earlier. Like, if I knew my Benefactor to be a cruel bitch, I'd probably head to Hellsing inside the first few Jumps and all but pounce on top of Alucard. But the Benefactor was more neutral or kind, I'd take things slower.

I would take more harems perks than I usually do though. I wouldn't be able to resist.

I am currently spending a decade as a chocobo, so I've been forced to master how to manipulate things with my feet. Thankfully my legs are strong enough that I can balance on one leg quite easily, but not having hands most of the time is a pain in the ass. So I use my claws and toes.

Katia and I whipped up a transformation spell, but it chews through so much of my mana that it's easier to keep it off most of the time.

I mastered knot tying and am a fair had at anything boat related thanks my time in Muppet Treasure Island. Comes in handy in more ways than people realize, knowing how to tie a good knot. Insert waggling eyebrows.

I'm also great at leading a mutiny, which I did once just for giggles in a Haman. No, I don't remember the details. There was alcohol involved and I /still/ don't have a massive tolerance for the stuff before I start doing something stupid.

> How strong is Dracula in Castlevania exactly?
It kindof depends on how he's feeling at that particular moment. He can transform into a demon and do all kinds of crazy magical bullshit... but sometimes he just doesn't.

Notably he's supposedly far more difficult to be defeated by anyone other than a Belmont, or someone wielding power similar to his.
It's kindof fucking all over the place, but in some of the last few games there was this big to-do about how there wasn't a Belmont around to fight him and so plot shit would happen to talk about how you have to jump through such and such hoops to fight him. It was a big deal in Order of Ecclesia, but he's also been beaten by a magic wielding preteen girl, so.

If we are assuming minimum displayed power, he'll just teleport around the room launching projectiles until you punch him in the head enough that he explodes into flames.
If we are assuming maximum, he can open portals to hell dimensions, twist his cape into demons so he doesn't even have to fight you, and unleash huge neverending barriers of instant death. In addition to doing shit like bringing about eternal night, unleashing infinite bats, and teaming up with the anthropomorphic personification of death to do combo attacks.

So, yeah. He's pretty powerful, but he seems to phone it in sometimes.

>>54716372
Personality-wise I'd probably be much less self-assured, more reluctant to take charge and more subject to mood swings for the early parts of my Chain, but on the other hand I probably wouldn't be as neurotic and anal-retentive as my Jumper is, especially once I get a few decades/hundreds of years of experience under my belt. Probably much more quick to give up when facing hardships or moral dilemmas, though.

I expect that my relationships with my Companions would be my kryptonite for quite a time. I'm a sperg that can sort of function in public but have very little experience with relationships of any kind; and I always feel like the way Companions work would be very awkward IRL: the bond you have with them is on an inhuman scale in its depth and length, but the structure of Jumpchain pretty much makes them your inferiors. I don't how many Companion relationships would ultimately turn sour in a realistic scenario before you find the ones that work for you.

Tolerance For Evil is not mandatory unless you take 42nd Supreme Being.

However if you want to destroy AOG your going to need a lot of firepower and anti conceptual/insta kill powers. Being a Level 100 in the Jump and having a high Luck stat and powerful Noble Phantasms as a Fate servant would definitely carry you pretty far though.

Getting companions at about an equal-ish level with Nazricks NPCs is also critical as taking them on all at once is incredibly dangerous.

If the backstory of Aria of Sorrow is to be believed, Dracula had one big last hurrah in 1999, where the entire US military attempted to fight him and he just fucking held them off like it was no big deal. It took a Belmont sneaking into the castle and using their ancestral weapon in some form of sacrificial ritual to finally seal him away.

Whereupon he was sealed away, finally for good, but he still keeps trying to manifest through his decedents, who are counted as "anyone who was born around the time Dracula last died haha sucks to be you".

>However if you want to destroy AOG your going to need a lot of firepower and anti conceptual/insta kill powers.
Not that hard. Level 100 and good tactics should suffice.
The main thing you need is good intel - either from having read the LN or something like Universal Canon from Lone Wolf.

The key is to kill Ainz ASAP, ideally in Carne village right at the beginning - when he doesn't wear his best gear, is alone, has no defensive buffs up and isn't wearing a World Item.

Without Ainz the guild falls apart.
They can't rez any NPCs you kill without him, can't get into the armory or use the guild functions of Nazarik and lose access to their best (only?) arcane spellcaster.
I'd also expect a lot of infighting, since the floor guardians don't exactly all get along.

After that you have to deal with the Level 100 NPCs.
As long as you can catch them alone most of them shouldn't be too hard either.
Shalltear and Albedo are overconfident and won't take you seriously until it's too late.
The only problem could be the druid elf, after that they're pretty much out of full spellcasters, leaving them at your mercy if you don't engage in straight-up combat.
>>
>>54717056
What is it with the Japanese and their fucking Pachinko? I swear it devours all that is good and holy in the fucking world.
>>
>>54717082
>They can't rez any NPCs you kill without him
Yes they can, the vampire can rez people with her magic. She might even be able to rez Ainz.

If anything you want to target both of them when her and Ainz are fighting, and he's wearing gear that leaves open his Fire weakness.

>>
>>54717106

You'd just have to wait until he kills Shalltear and you'd have him right there, out of mana and with his most dangerous abilities on cooldown.
>>
>>54716931
Personally, I think that the chips that give you invincibility frames are a lot more useful, in Jumpchain? Combine them with Rolling Counter from Mother and some high-level regen and you can't be physically harmed. Because when you take a hit it'll take several seconds for the damage to actually register, during which time your regeneration can eat into the "debt" of that HP loss. And during that time you won't be able to take any more damage to add to said debt. Very nice combo.

I'd probably do something similar, seeing as I can't decide fate on a whim. I'd be less brazen and more calculating and safe.Part of the reason for this is that I took an alt-chain drawback that makes me be entertaining or jump-chan vaporizes me.

As for companions, that's the real problem for me as well. When I did the writefagging for VtM:B, I had two companions (my ghouls) who were loyal and in love with me. The third companion I got from there was another vampire Sort of, Kaliyan from clan quest mod. For what I'm writing now, I'm at odds with Anubis from JJBA, and tenuously working with him, though I'm anticipating a betrayal at any time. I was planning on doing Overwatch and getting God Program AI as a companion, who is unfailingly loyal to me. I'd waifu/companion some of the Overwatch girls, if only to see who'd be interested in the Embrace and a multiversal adventure, but you're right. The very human element of the relationships would promote jealousy and strife over such a period of time considering that they'll almost never be your equals. I'd write for companion drama if I took any and I thought I could do it. My problem with companions, at least the way I write them, is that they're rarely more than accessories to me. They solve more conflicts than they create in my chain and I choose to forgo them in favor of just having the conflicts be within the world instead of coming from outside of it.

Teleport blockers probably exist. They do in D&D, which is what Overlord uses with the serial numbers filed off.
It's also kinda a necessity for a game like that to have meaningful PvP at all.

How exactly you deal with Ainz obviously depends on your build, but he admits himself that his build isn't that strong by the standards of Yggdrassil.
Considering how you can munchkin your build just with in-jump abilities you really shouldn't have any problems when you have knowledge of canon to aid you.

Hell, just ambush the Theocracy patrol with the world item that controls Shalltear and control her yourself. Then you can double-team Ainz.
And that's something you should definitely be capable of, given that a bunch of not-even-RoH scrubs managed it in canon.

Yeah, that's also an important thing to do, eliminate possible damage to your vitals. I tend to go for HP bar perks for that, don't take actual physical damage at all. Makes Rolling Counter a lot easier to imagine, too, since having a delay on actual physical damage you take instead of just an energy meter lowering is a weird image. Like, how would that interact with things penetrating your flesh? Does the hole not appear until later? It's weird.

Some other essential "I'm fucking invicible!" perks, while we're on the topic:

>Magical Particles (Bastard part 1)
Only attacks that can damage both the spirit world and the physical world at the same time can hurt you, makes you completely invulnerable in many settings.

>Personal Shield (NES Pack)
Anything that deals less than 10% of your HP instead does no damage. There are other similar perks like Heart of Steve from Minecraft (also an HP bar perk) or Hyper Armor from Majikoi. Speaking of which...

>Hyper Armor (Majikoi)
You're immune to taking knockback or flinching from attacks. Enemies can't stop your movement by hitting you, you're immovable and unstoppable. Glittering Gold from Nier Automata has a similar effect, with the addition of raising your defense by two orders of magnitude and giving you a cute robot buddy.

>Kira Killer (Jorge Joestar)
Only attacks intentionally aimed at you can hurt you. Passive AOEs or automatic retaliation effects do nothing. AOE attacks can hurt you if they were launched with the intent to harm you, though, so bombs are still a threat.

>"Minor" Infection + Exploiting The System (Phantasy Star Online)
Attacks originating from another plane of existence or dimension can't affect you. Hyperdimensional enemies or phasing is removed as a danger.

Because this community does not accept lewd jumps.
People go frothing at the mouth rabid if you even suggest it.
This is also a blue (read: SFW) board.

And seriously, i can see why. People already do creepy enough things with non-lewd jumps, and those who've been here long enough probably remember certain... posters with tastes that no one wants to read about.

Think about it. This is /tg/. An anonymous board full of autists. I don't want to read about peoples magical realms any more than already happens here, and i doubt many other people disagree.

Because they're like retarded younger siblings. They want to join in, but can't be bothered to listen to how to do that. They're afraid of posting here, but they see our drive as "the real drive." Why? Who the fuck knows.

The best part, and you can observe this behavior in some, not all but some, of their posters over here: they are obsessed with internet fame. They want our drive because then more people will jump their jumps and they'll "win." Just look at how Blade lobbies for thread notoriety. It's undeniably desperate, but he just won't stop.

I would assume that jumps for EVERYTHING would be available in an actual chain so it would be easier to find early jumps that could offer both safety and survivability options. Once I can get involved in street level conflicts without fear of death I would just wander around having fun in various settings.

This is basically the same as my actual chain only easier since I would be able to use anything that would have a jump not just settings we actually have jumps for.
>>
>>54717990
I wouldn't. But I /would/ pay CP for a something like a customized heavy combat drone like an Ares KN-Y0 or a jet fighter doesn't need a pilot like a Neonet Avenging Angel

Or an Anthromorphic drone with fully Realistic Features and a mil-spec Pilot program, to pretty much completely pass for human and serve as an assassin, personal assistant, or backup terminator in case things go wrong.

>>54718013
>Fore future references are there any alternative worlds or focused areas of the setting that could be used as the basis for another shadowrun jump?
I think there's a game or something? Dragonfall or something? Which might work.

>>
>>54718238
Indeed, there would be countless jumps we can't even imagine based on IPs that only exist in some other jump's media. and it continues on endlessly and exponentially.

We only have jumps for a tiny portion of possible settings and areas of settings. A real jumpchain would have all of them, and possibly jumps for the media in all of those jumps, and all of those jumps, and all of those jumps, and so on.

There is an Alternate Class Feature called the Eidetic Spellcaster (Dragon vol. 357 pg. 89).

Alright, now I'm FINALLY not angry enough to actually explain-

I don't feel I have impossibly high expectations when it comes to food. I've eaten from street carts, and dingy diners, and packaged things from the grocery. Not every meal has to be a 6-course banquet at Lei Garden, or one of those seafood speciality places where you actually pick out the seafood you want and the wet market and they cook it for you.

All I'm saying is, in my experience you can get a LOT more bang for your buck from freshly cooked, local produce than some refrigerated schmuck! Hell, I used to hate fries until I went abroad and found out about the thin crunchy ones! Is that so much to ask?!

>>54715770

And for the record actually-dropping-an-egg-in-your-soup can be great! Because you do just that in one type of ramen, the egg solidifies in a semisolid meat flavoured jello blob of delicious! Instead of splooging over the other flavours like an algae bloom after El Nino.

I mean, if you're going to eat that much egg just. Why don't you eat an egg? You can't just swirl two flavours together in water and hope for the best.

>>54718490
Would you actually take random jumps even without that if the chain was for real?
Because that sounds like a recipe for a very short chain to me.

People die to the stupidest shit all the time, and without narrative causality to protect you for your first jump(s) 10 years is a long time.
A lot of car accidents, falling down the stairs etc. can happen in that time.

My first jump wouldn't actually be to pick up any superpowers, or mental defenses, or sanity perks.
It'd be the safest jump i could find with a perk that protects me from dying to some stupid, random everyday accident. Everything else is a bonus.
>>
>>54718660
What is that jump?
I generally use Generic Universal Monsters for the one up and the other good undead perks for similar reasons.

So I've finished outlining the perks for Saint Seiya. No capstone booster this time - all Cosmo training, from the Seventh and Eighth Senses are done from the ground up and the hard way. The price of power is needing to Git Gud.

That just leaves Armor. My only issue is that Mariner and Specters have their own sets of Armor and don't really have a distinction between their strongest/weakest beyond the Cosmo of the user, whereas Bronze Cloth and Gold Cloth are clearly outlined and differentiated. This problem is fixed partially by the fact the armor itself isn't what makes the user superhuman, it just supplements it, but it makes it weird to price.

I'm open to suggestions on how to handle pricing the armors, here. Also, 'normal' item ideas for the backgrounds (Drop-In is a mix of Ikki and a sort of 'start your own legend' thing, then there's Knights, Mariners, and Specters.)

There's several options, depending on what you want.
Chronicles of Narnia works well if you pick up the Apple of Life - you're immune to disease and you renegerate enough to survive pretty much any accident, and the jump is fairly safe.
It also comes with a whole bunch of other good perks.
The only reason not to take it as a first jump is that it's really good for your companions too, but they respawn anyway so it's hard to beat for safety.

Infamous also works if you pick up regeneration and durability, and it's not too dangerous if you pick student origin and keep your head down.

Hero Union BBS is another good one - pick Retired Hero and you don't have to fight a demon lord, pick up magic and immortality and plot armor and a whole bunch of free companions who can also be mages with healing spells.

There's a lot more options if you go looking. Basically anything with regeneration or plot armor that doesn't force you into combat.
>>
>>54718859
>and the jump is fairly safe.
It has Aslan in it, among other eldritch horrors.
>>
>>54718708
Well, personally, I was just going to price the other types' armours halfway between Bronze and Gold. Better than bronze, not necessarily good as Gold, mostly decided by the user's strength. For Lost Canvas anyway. Dunno if that helps.

G of course throws the power balance out of whack
>>
>>54718834
Yeah but then you need something to let you learn spells faster, Sorcerers have a hard time learning new ones even with the feats that prove it can be done through effort.
>>
>>54718708
For items, uninspired as it might be, I'd like to see some territory. Knights get their own equivalent to the Sanctuary, Mariners have their own underwater temple with maybe a few pillars to hold up the seas, while Specters can get a chunk of the underworld with a few temples here and there for actually living ("living") in, with maybe a small castle somewhere in the living world with a pit that takes you directly there. I remember that being a thing. If Drop-In weren't based on Ikki who's one of the characters farthest from the conceptual purview this'd fall in I'd suggest giving them their own Graad Foundation for a capstone.

As for armor... making Bronze and Silver cheaper than Gold, while the others are priced the same (or between Silver and Gold) could work. Even if it'd probably end up encouraging people to go for really awkward builds, like a Spectre who has a Bronze Cloth and no Surplice. Maybe just differentiate prices by innate power?
>>
>>54718902

This is one of the reasons I mainly like grabbing Sorcerer and Wizard together then blending them together with Ultimate Magus. Basically makes you an arcane singularity by the time you max out both sides. And you can concentrate your blasting magic on the Sorcerer side, which you'll need more often, and the esoteric spells on the Wizard side, which you'll usually have some warning or prep time to get the right spells memorized.

I mean, you still end up as a half-nerd that way, but the raw power of all that arcane energy makes it worth it. Plus, half-nerds wear monocles, which are always classy. So really you're like a quarter nerd.

I mean...you know what people say about Primordials having phenomenal autistic genius in their area of influence, and being hilariously incompetant at everything outside of it?

I've been suffering a similar impediment for much of my chain. Putting a shitton of effort into turning into a big, mean concept means that sometimes less important aspects of reality get neglected. Like pants. Or intuitively understanding that the Light doesn't actually want racism, because you decided being an emotional void that feasts on evil was an awesome idea centuries ago, and are too cynical to not think all the other cosmic beings are also getting their fix.

It also means you disproprotionately focus on what bits of sentiment DO survive the culling. Especially when the contradiction starts driving you crazy. Even though you're not supposed to go insane, but you wanted to tap into the power of insanity so things are precarious.

Even after Infernals, trying to embody perfection's not so much fixed the problem so much as put a bandaid on it. Now I just focus on the ends despite the absurdity of the intervening steps, instead of having a blindspot when it comes to things outside my other themes. Like patiently sitting down with the offending vendor to discuss better cooking techniques, instead of incinerating him with cold plasma.

Those you-will-always-be-you perks? It turns out they have really unexpected effects when you take them AFTER disassembling most of you, and keep trying to tear apart and rebuild You as a better You, over and over again.

Most of ZTDemonbane is just going to be a normal jump. What will be behind the endjump wall is the crazy stuff that goes on in the sequels. Vanillabane is fairly strong but perfectly fine for a normal jump, the ever wanked Elder God Demonbane and such things will be behind the wall (Though that won't be offered anyway, since there's no point to an endjump if you start at the highest power, unless the endjump isn't focused on power).

>No Narrative Causality
Basically why if I was actually jumping that I'd probably go for perks or settings that make me immune to all the dumb shit that could dust me in real life. It's part of the reason I jerk off vampirism and immortality so much. Sure, something like WoD vampirism wouldn't be the greatest, given the state of that world and the nature of the beast, I see vampirism specifically as freedom. Giving up sunlight, needing blood and acquiring some other circumstantial weaknesses, I no longer age, don't really (depends on the setting and exact rules) need to worry about getting sick, don't need to worry about finding my next meal, and I won't need to worry about getting into a car wreck, falling off a ladder and splitting my head open or any number of ultra-mundane causes of death.

Vampires are probably more likely to die than mortals. Someone living in a first world country is way more likely to be accidentally exposed to sunlight be denied access to blood than they are to get in a car wreck or starve, especially since Warehouse gives you a place to sleep and food for free. Immortality is worthless because your age will be changed in 10 years. Depending on the type of vampirism, you could still die in a car crash shrapnel piercing your heart and you'd still be vulnerable to other accidents like fires.

Could we have a scenario where we get to go to the crazy universe-shattering levels of power without it being an end jump, but at the cost of not getting to keep anything afterwards? You know, for the people who just want to punch out Nyarlathotep without having to either end their chain or wait until they eventually do a different end jump and then come back to Demonbane in a thousand years. I've been thinking that would actually be a really fun thing for all end jumps to have. You know, that way you get rid of the argument that it locks out the potential to have adventures, while still keeping a single jump from trivializing the entire chain.
>>
>>54719210
Vampirism offers you nothing you wouldn't get from a good regeneration perk and an unlimited food option for the warehouse.

On the other hand the vulnerability to sunlight is a massive weakness in most jumps, and there's lots of "destroy undead" powers in quite a few settings.
I'm looking to eliminate weaknesses, not trade them for new ones.
Not to mention that it isn't all that good for your social life either. Unless you're into weird self-harming teen chicks i guess?
Or that vampirism comes with lots of enemies by default and most jumps that offer it are generally pretty dangerous.

And that's not even counting the personal ick-factor of having to hurt people for sustenance or being a walking corpse.

Nah, it's basically the same thing as Baked Alaska. You get an insulating outer layer that fries while the inside is more or less intact. When frying drinks there's usually an emulsifying agent added to thicken it into more of a cream, too. Some people cheat and just use the drink as an ingredient in a batter and fry that, though, that's lame.

Ergh, I don't think that'd really work, unless I get into ridiculous legalese about not only removing the power you got but also removing any advantages you may have used it to gain or benefits you used to give your other stuff and leaving you with absolutely nothing but the memories of the time there, with no way to use those memories for benefits.

And I'd rather just say "You can still interact with that stuff if you want but you're on your own for it, the endjump is if you want to get support, a goal and some lovely rewards".

Unlike Dies Irae, I don't think there's a need to literally lock things in Demonbane behind a wall,
though this is subject to change. (Mostly because the DI stuff is a heckuva lot easier/closer to actually get into than the Demonbane stuff).

However, just because it's not explicitly banned doesn't mean it'll be buyable or that you'll be able to easily get to it.

Well, I suppose that's true. It would be difficult to define, probably lead to some arguments. But you're right, it's not really practical. I guess I'll just have to punch out some dudes before they escalate to crazy levels. Thanks for considering the idea, though.

I just really want to punch Nyarlathotep or Mercurius in the face. Ideally I'd do that once they've escalated things to crazy town, so it would be more exciting and dramatic, but I can probably find drama in the pre-escalation parts of the plot.

Yeah, at this point I genuinely don't know what to expect from this eldritch nightmare you call a kitchen so I jumped immediately to visions of cream and raspberries and milk being stirfried in the same pan.

>>54719394
Eh, it's not that bad. I wouldn't write home about it, but it isn't terrible either, just the kind of gimmick that gets old quick if you don't like gels.

Seriously, it's surprisingly uninventive in execution. Everything becomes a kind of biscuit, cream or puree; sure the flavours vary but I think they put so much effort into how it looks they just don't have time to vary the texture meaningfully.

Just so we're clear though, I was talking about actual shrimps and chicken soup with alcohol put in it set on fire. Just real home comfort food, since most Taiwanese mountain farmers aren't molecular gastronomists.

There's the obligatory Toriko, Final Fantasies 9, 14 and Crystal Chronicles (where eating food you don't like will apparently decrease stats). The medicinal kind shows up a lot in the xianxia jumps, apparently. There's Harry Potter's quasi-sentient animated magical confectionary, it's the whole basis of Ogre Kingdoms' main line of magic, and if you ever go to Valhalla in the Norse afterlife there's a goat that keeps ressurecting itself to feed the Einherjar.

You can pick different brands of ambrosia in Exalted, Journey to the West (which also has very nice peaches, and apparently sage flesh is delicious to demons), God of War, Greek Mythology and Percy Jackson. There's a goblin fruit garden for sale in Changeling, if you're into that, while some of Fall From Heaven's lands provide supernatural fecundity to nearby agriculture. Undertale monsters can apparently create food out of magic, while fire magic's good at cooking. There's a community on Fallen London's Mutton Island that does very famous fried eldritch sea urchin balls, and the rare Hesperidean Apples are pretty great too. Actraiser has a perk to make food literally fit for the gods,

And Azeroth, Creation and the Discworld are just chock full of magical delicacies. Just...be cautious aronud the latter, anything cooked by a wizard runs the risk of exploding you, and the most promising witch of her generation made a cheese that rolls around attacking people.

Aren't you the poorest coastal state?

Most fantasy settings give people power sets, not one iconic power.

I made my own orange sauce and friend my own chicken, how dare you insult it by calling it panda express.

My opinion is right. Your nasty, oily, metalic fish is gross.

Not quite an example, but okay. Fantasy setting. Let's make a Sorcerer! Dungeons and Dragons style.

Most of the stats will likely stay at baseline 0 for now. Presence, which is Charisma under a new name, will get heavily boosted, along with a few ranks for Intellect, Dexterity, and Awareness. Maybe a point into Agility if there's some left over in the end. But we're not here for stats!

Moving on. What's every Sorcerer need? A Familiar! Why, that's an easy one.

== Familiar: Summon with Permanent, Active, and Mental Link. 3 points per Rank + 1. Dump points into it dependent on how strong you want your familiar to be.

And of course a Sorcerer needs Magic!

= Spellcasting: Ranged Damage (subtype: Magic). 2 points per Rank. You could attach any kind of modifiers you want onto that, turning it into a firebolt, icebolt, lightning bolt, even an eldritch blast. And from there you can build a whole ARRAY of magical effects under it for 1 points each! That's right! 1 point per new spell!
+ Mage Armor: Enhanced Toughness
+ Sleep: Ranged Affliction (Fatigued, Exhausted, Asleep) Resisted by Will
+ Telekenisis: Move Object
+ Giant Growth: Growth, Increased Action
And the list goes on!

You could even, at higher Power Levels, split the single Spellcasting Array up into multiple Arrays to give your Sorcerer the ability to maintain a Shield and still throw Thunderbolts around!

How's that?

>metalic fish
What the fuck kind of fish are you eating?
>>

That's extremely limited, Sorcerers can do way more than just shoot a damn fire bolt.

Look, if you're not going to be bothered to read the damned post you can just fuck right the hell off.
