Could Guild Wars 2 work as a TT RPG?

Even its predecessor had the idea that all PC classes, including Warriors, are magic users. This maps well to 4e and explains why 'martial' abilities may be limited use.

I agree with most here, D&D from 3 on could easily work. Maybe with a mix of D&D and Shadowrun magic to reflect upon cooldowns.

On a sidenote: The Charr are a fucking great race. Pretty much the only furry race I know that I would allow at my table ever.

Guild Wars as a setting kind of ignores the obvious physiological advantages present there, even if logically you'd probably be right. It'd ultimately come down to whether or not you want it to be more realistic or more in-tone with the setting.

It pains me how little they actually did with that plot point, but then I guess that's Guild Wars 2 in a nutshell. Great setting, great plot hooks (at least in theory), never any real pay off. Battle For Lion's Arch is still one of the coolest events I've ever done in an MMO, though.
