You can draw a line of salt underneath all the doorways in a house and a ghost won't be able to pass through them anymore- even if they're passing through the wall or something, any salt-lined room is off limits. Ghosts can pass through solid objects because they can traverse any 'dead' routes that existed while they were alive, so if the geography has change they don't have to 'respect' it sort to speak, but salt is 'maaaaagic' or some such bullshit, so Ghosts can't cross it.

Ghosts can be SMOKED out as well by burning certain smokey herbs n' so forth: sage, rosemary, & thyme are the ones that come to mind immediately, but I'm sure there are other plants that ghosts can't fucking stand once they've got a good smoke going on. Lots of people say this changes the 'negative energy' in a room, but that's bullshit: Ghosts just can't function properly with all that smokey'ness and eventually just leave.

The other two things you can do is wait it out: Ghosts can't exists for longer than they were alive, as they become contradictory, forget what they're supposed to be and eventually pass onto whatever afterlife is available while their physical ghosty essence dissipate into non-human spirits such as brownies, kobolds, gnomes, etc.. To speed up this process you can also cremate their remains, people with cremated remains either don't become ghosts or have a much difficult time doing so since can't be angsty if you're not rotting.

If it's the Ghosts of someone who's still alive, you can just go take it up with them and their still very real bodies.

Sorcery is the most obvious way, but if you don't have a sorcerer knowledgeable in relevant rituals on hand or the ghost is more powerful than them you'll need to either resolve whatever obsessions are sustaining their spirithood or else figure out what esoteric-but-personally-relevant shit they're weak to. I haven't played it in years so the tentative understanding I had of the plot has largely faded, but I enjoyed it all the same. It was a game that basically flipped off conventional logic and made it's own world by it's own rules.

In truth the kid at the end isn't your kid though most people interpret him this way due to confusing translations. Hugo, the kid, is actually the one who creates Batter, the Queen and the Guardians. You also aren't Batter, but 'The Puppeteer' who Batter has lied to by omission in requesting your assistance in his mission. It's really strange and meta, but I liked it.

Iron can be hit or miss depending on the setting. If its related to the Fey in any way, like irish myth or whatnot, iron is your go to for killing the supernatural. Otherwise the ghost might just phase through it like any other mundane material. Silver, on the other hand, is usually a pretty good bet for killing various supernatural entities.

Depends on your definition of 'fight' as well. Do you mean to actively combat it, indirectly remove its influence on the world, or just get it out of its normal haunting grounds?

Also, good taste with OFF. Fun, if meta at times, and a mind-screw ending.
