My father taught me D&D and instilled a deep love in me of games of all types. I took up Magic because his then-girlfriend, now-wife, taught me to play and encouraged my interest in it (I now work in Magic as a job). I took up D&D because of his encouragement as well.

However, while working on a gaming project together, he cut me out of his life, threw me out of the family, and ordered me never to contact him again. I haven't seen him, or my 20-year younger brother, in three years. I don't even know where they live now.

So no, I don't play with my elders anymore.

Yes. I was finishing my degree and needed about a month off from our project, which he was pushing me very hard on. My degree was ultimately more important to me than the project, so I sent him an email saying that I was going to back off on the project for a month or so and come back at it once my degree was complete. The above was his response to that email. I have not spoken to him since.

I'm 22 years older than my oldest player, so I guess they play RPG's with their elders.

The people I used to game with in my teens and twenties were left behind 3 moves ago. They were an alright bunch, but I love these new people.

My grandad called me a faggot for playing a Ranged Weapon Specialist in only war. I also remember he played an operator in the small group we had.
