I mean even if a few get lucky... come on. They can never really compare. Not really.
Rarely will a human girl leave a human society for elven for instance. It's almost always the other way round.

Everyone knows most half-elves come from Elf women marring old male human for their money.

It's a bad deal.

I strongly believe this is where most half elves come from. I also believe that, in rural settings, many half elves had their ears trimmed as a baby to hide the fact that they are halfbloods and that there are more half-elves than expected and leads to the "farmer boy is an exceptionally gifted mage or fighter or some shit like that" trope after a couple generations.

How do we know said "young" maiden there isn't an elf herself? We can't see her ears? How do we know this isn't a happily married elf couple who do some extremely long term roleplay for foreplay?

...I like this idea.

Too much body fat for an elf.

Also, some people just live to 200 inexplicably, in an age where the life expectancy after 10 is 70

I think you just described the background of Shannara.

Probably too much male writers writing for a male audience, most want to feel like the MC of a harem anime, surrounded by all kinds of chicks, human or non-humanbut still fapablethat fall in love with himfor often no good reasonPutting all these good-looking, tall, athletic, mysterious, dreamy elf guys in the story introduce some sudden fierce competetion the average self-insert-fag wouldn't be able to stomach.
Subconsciously, a female looks for the best genes and the best provider.
So she doesn't care if he provides both.
It's like single mothers who get fucked by bad boys and look for a dumb idiotic ass to provide for her progeny.

This is my new headcanon whenever OP uses that picture

What he said - Still breast feeding a 5 year old is a little hard for most women.
