retributor armor

a wash (either reikland fleshshade or nuln oil not sure if both are necessary)
averland sunset for the yellow bands on their headpieces and armor.

The Orks knowing they need to regain some momentum do the one thing they're good at,they charge to get into melee. After another less than successful round of shooting the Kans charge into the conscripts and the severly weakened Nought charges into the Regular lads. With both being less than successful and in the ensuing combats are bogged down and overrun. Giving the Guard armor the opportunity to focus fire the other Ork vehicles.

So I am starting 40K, and want to make an IG army. The thing is that currently I am on sort of a budget and can only get 1 starter box, which would be better as the start of an army:
The Tempestus Starter Box
Or
The regular IG Starter box

I already own a Leman Russ, Chimera and Squad of Cadians,so I assume they would get eventually more synergy with IG starter set. But that set doesn't come with a commander capable of giving orders to the infantry which I would need to buy later, so my army initially would be pretty meh.
Tempestus does come with the Tempestus Command squad but would be fielding them together with non-order IG infantry squad any good?

Hey Anons, I'm one of the guys you helped yesterday (The guy with the Slaanesh gf).

We got the SC Slaanesh box and she's cracking on.

What she's wondering is if you can put a Herald on a seekers chariot and if it's worth it? The army seems fragile stats wise, and the +1 buff to Ally strength and the -1 psyker debugging you can cast seems too good to pass up.

Use the lord of contagion as typhus, he is better in every conceivable way. He will buff your pox walkers and will give you more chances to cast spells in addition to being better in melee.

I loved Warscythe Lychguards. 2A, S7, -4, 2d. What is there NOT to love?
But +1 attack, +5'' movement and <FLY> really makes the Praetorians stand taller in my book.

Lychguards are kinda reliant on the Nightscythe to get into melee with the enemy vehicles/dreadnaughts/characters; but the Nightscythe seldomly survive turn 1 after moving over the enemy line to drop the guards.

Why don't Marines get more deep striking? I mean, the backpack vents on top are suppose to be jets (the actual exhaust are the vents at the bottom) and the Reivers get to deep strike simply by putting some fins on their backpacks. What's stopping regular space marines putting similar fins on their backpacks and jumping out of thunderhawks?

Feels like this aspect of the Marine backpack has not been touched upon at all.

I really wanna get some aggressors with the boltstorm gauntlets. Seem the most imperial fists-y. Nothing really jumps out at me as an interesting combo for my chapter tactics though, unlike the other first foundings.

Don't joke, 5 aggressors piling out of a repulsor can be set up 8+D6" from the repulsor and put down 47.5 bolter shots on average, which will kill 14 guardsmen or 5.27 MEQs

After that they can just sit on the objective and splatter out 95 bolter shots at anything within 18".

The flamer fists are a bit better if you get range but they're absolutely ridiculous as speed bumps against melee units because their shoot twice rule works in overwatch, meaning 70 autohitting S4 hits on your opponents turn.

That's 23.33 dead genestealers on overwatch alone or 11.67 dead MEQ

I have a basic plague marine rules question.

The index: rule book says that a unit of plague marines can be as small as 1 plague champion and 4 plague marines. In the back there is no points cost for a plague champion so do I just make the unit worth 5 plague marines? Also it says up to two plague marines can take a special weapon but then it says that a plague champion can take a power fist and a plasma gun so would a squad with two plague marines with plasma guns + a plague champion with a plasma gun be allowed in the rules?

Charging from 8.xx inches away is an 8" charge because of 1" melee range that also denies flamers. It's around 50% chance without a reroll, so it's decent with just a command point.
