Whats your approche to Proxys?
they can be TCG or Figures Proxies

I play MTG. Usually my group is fine for proxies used in formats we don't usually play. We had a full proxy league a few months ago which was fun, but now we're having a non-proxy modern league because everyone and their mother has a modern deck in this town.
Proxies are for testing before you commit to buying. If you're playing in tournaments you need real cards anyway and for casual play it doesn't matter so just use a cheaper card

Back in the day, my friend would just put his cat on the table whenever it was time for the Ctan to do anything. We felt it was more balanced that way.
For Warhammer, we're pretty open to anything. One guy uses Gundams and for Tau, another guy uses papercraft.
The only rule we have is that where possible, you have to have painted the models with care (papercraft guy has significantly complex papercraft to be an exception).

I only play casually with friends or at my FLGS. Mostly play EDH so I run a few chinese cards in my EDH decks.
I don't play competitively so to me its not worth hundreds of dollars for a single deck. *shrug*

TCG
We never give a rats ass if the card itself is a proxy, only how functional it is and the price of the card.
>it needs to look and feel like a real card while in sleeves, and it needs to be legible and have either the text from a real printing, or the current gatherer text. (basically a high resolution scan or quality render is required)
>youre still limited by the league's deck price limits, because there are a few guys who don't/won't use any proxies.
>minis
We use minis from any company, so go nuts on those, so long as they look good.

Perfectly fine.
I understand companies not allowing them at their events to squeeze some extra monneys out of you, but otherwise, why the fuck would I care (assuming it is functional)?
>>54548096
I don't mind. Shit's fucking expensive, and while I have disposable income, some people do not
I wouldn't even mind if official events were a little bit more lenient, it would probably make scenes a little less stagnant

As long as I can tell what everything is then I don't really care.
If everything is proxied with random items then that just creates a clusterfuck - this unit of High Elf spearmen are termagants, these pennies are Genestealers, this coffee mug is a Carnifex etc.

Some guy at my flgs tried to proxy nickels for genestealers last week because he doesnt have enough.
I told him to make a list with models he does have. normally idc about proxies but he's a dick. and fucking nickels? really?
