ITT we grossly oversimplify things and speculate on relative power levels between entities from Cthulhu Mythos and WH40k setting, and watch nerds cry.

For example what do think about Cthulhu versus Greater Daemon of any of the Big Four? What about a Titan from one of the Titan Legions?

>How would an open universe based in our world with a little extra barely holding on against the manifestations of their own collective consciousness fare against beings synonymous and that are extensions of god itself, and it's subsequent offspring made by a limitless array of means to reproduce from known and unknown biological functions which exceed the like of the Emperor of Mankind's exemplary paragon of the species by a multiple even I cannot fathom to list?
>The Emperor of Mankind only being able to best the strongest of the C'tan by lulling it to sleep under Mars, a robot empowered with what is effectively a creature similar to the like of 2nd generation other canonical writing setting Great Old Ones in their potential fetal stages
>A setting where it is implied that the Tyranid collective organism was sent as a probe from this exact kind of pantheon
>To note that the Hive Fleet is literally a non sapient organism with symbiotic assimilated biomass and other creatures making up it's whole attracted to galaxies giving off large life signatures to consume, with the potential end goal of becoming the sum of all it's parts, rather that the infintasmial 000000000(ex).1% that it could become a sapient hyperintelligent being capable of fission and the like
>A setting where religious iconography, cultism and theocracy is rampant
Instant fucking loss, Things would get bad if any dedicated Lovecraft servitor races got into the mix of 40k, but one present would completely tip the iceberg and immediately grind things to a halt. A hivemind produces a shadow in the warp, and the warp is made up of the collective thoughts of lesser species, the like of a GOO would do more than a shadow, if not completely envelop it as something so alien and "out there" that it drives the collective bitchshit the warp is to screeching, terrifying halt rendering it awe-struck or at least by the superior bredth of the intelligence at hand "making sense of things" in practice.

But to be fair, if it's Nyralathotep popping in to bring the good word of the Necromonicon, then it's things as usual, and Tzeentch badly wants an autograph, seeing as it literally has two Daemons dedicated to imitating the like of the Crawling Chaos. At best, the Imperials might get involved with a cult run by a small splinter section of a servitor race cult, but beyond this, it's not in any applicable shape or form to involve the Dark Tapestry in 40k.

Remember, from a literary standard the Great Old Ones and the Outer Gods are the only supper applicable series of concepts and beings capable of effective "Setting hopping" by their means alone, as they're so intelligent they can figure that sort of thing out. Except Hastur who get's micro-managed by being thrown around all of conceptual Yog-Sothoth accessed reality just because some fuck says his name, sucks to be that thing.

Also, there is no Planetary sea navy in 40k ever. They never ever Have Sea battles, even though there should be many a condition to warrant that kind of combat, they don't even have spaceships to real ships naval combat or imperial submarines for whatever reason. I know the Imperium has a thing for turning planets into dry husks with their human overpopulation, but how in the fuck do you miss shit like this? There's even fenris, full of Krakens and fuck else knows what, and it's like the very concept of sea farring was forgotten about.

I bet the very idea of fishing is some sort of foreign concept and the Mechanicus are missing STC for it.

Also, the Outsider and Enslavers a revery good Candidate for an entry to other literary standards of Lovecraftian writing. One should note that the Outsider is named the Outsider, which is what you'd call the like of D&D esque beings that hit lovecraftian or outer planar beings or other tabletop games, and it's a mad C'tan doing nothing on it's planet, making even machines mad. You could make it effectively be a massive space machine that's like- a 40k version of Tharizduun, or something akin to that, seeing as it's a common core idea that those who are mad in lovecraftian scenarios either know to much, or are mad in a means that cause a chemical cocktail of hormones relased that grant them insight and a clarity of a higher sense of order, and concepts that are strange and alien, Bloodborne, and D&D have all used these ideas. But, this was something limited to the capacity of a biological organism, for all we know, the Outsider is basically mad and not hitting on anything outside of normal capacity, if it is made as a machine and sentient being in the lovecraftian sense, then it has limitless time to hit upon Precognitions and conceptual understanding that would clearly exceed what's on the buffae in the warp, beyond to the limits of space which the Tyranid hivemind ihibits.

Effectively, a mad killer Sun-Gas-Organism space robot trapped in it's own body on the next level of MAD pentium processing to busy being MAD to do anything else.

Or tearing itself apart Tharizduun style, to achive something, facilitating it's reconstruction through the planet constantly until it's no longer what I once was.

In 40k terms, Chtulhu is basically enormously powerful psyker. We know his dreams can drive people mad: we have no idea what his capabilities are when he's actually awake. I'd have to give either of those to Cthulhu.

>Chtulhu is basically enormously powerful psyker

Are we talking Emperor or Magnus tier?
>>
>>54538954
Who knows? Like I said, we don't really know what he's capable of when he's awake.

Cthulhu waking up is an extinction event. The few people that will survive it are no longer people, they are like Cthulhu now, Starspawn. Just with a humanoid base unlike a squid-dragon base.

Could've sworn Nyralathotep was the one who sets in motion the scouring of the earth, and Cthulu is sorta half-dead in the sense of if you were playing D&D and using an astral seed, but didn't regenerate because your boss had you run a few extra planar errands across space and time whilst he tells you to make up when the stars are right and the return of it's consciousness to it's body simply causes everyone to lose their shit as a side effect of it's return to physicality.

Star-spawn are like, his all-purpose Mini-me Minions existing in various shapes and sizes for different purposes, sometimes even being mistaken for him or are used as means to proxy his will through, next to whatever else is cleaning the euclidiean halls of R'yleh.

But that might be extended mythos which literally made him Space Muhammad, complete with a daughter he keeps to himself to impregnate to rebrith him into the universe in case he accidentally manages to die because bathing in angry batshit insane Shoggoths trying to kill you is not a good idea, even for a Great Old One.
>>
>>54537698
Depends. There are mythos entities that would be literally unkillable, like hounds of tindalos or the color out of space, simply because they're not really made of matter or energy in the way the 40k universe normally interacts with it.

Hell, there's no guarantee the Warp would even be able to see things that live in the angles of time rather than the curves.

That's before we get into big dicks like Yog-Sothoth or Azathoth who are unequivocally omnipotent.

>>54539764
It's when Cthulhu and the other Old Ones wake that humanity will get wiped out. Nyarlathotep just toys with humanity, doing things such as giving us the technology for nuclear weapons.
