Instead of the usual favorite Chapter thread, how about we have a nice cosy favourite Warband one?
This way, I can pick up warbands for the roll table I'm making, and people get to discover new fluff!

I'll just post some Warbands to get going.

Bleak Brotherhood, nice fresh mint flames.

My favorites are my dudes. The Silver Host.
They're a slaaneshi warband focused on competition and natural selection. They are organized into three large bands led by an aspiring champion. They take in small renegade or heretic warbands and basically put them through a hazing process. They are pooled together in huge squads and put under the command of one of the Ascendant. The only way to progress is to fight, and survive, long enough that all traces of your original chapter/warband colors and heraldry is gone. Once this is achieved, they are given the opportunity to fight one of the Ascendant that make up the upper ranks of the warband for their position. Should they fail, they undergo a ritual which turns them into a spawn. The Ascendant collectively protect a ritual they have discovered which facilitates apotheosis to daemonhood for the worthy.
My lore isnt the best, by I like what Ive done model-wise. They're all packed up at the moment, but all the ascendant have sanguinary guard helmets painted silver, with silver armor trim and lich purple accents over black armor.

Favorite Legion is Word Bearers. I love the idea of satanic marines doing satanic rituals in the name of their satanic gods.
I don't have favorite renegades since I don't care about renegades, it's the veterans of the Long War that matter. Would probably change my approach if the Hanged would turn traitor.

The Hanged? That doesn't ring a bell I must admit. A quick googling doesn't turn anything, do you have a picture?

So there's judt 3 aspiring champions? No Overlord?

There are 3 Ascendant who oversee The Horde, along with several other Ascendant Brotherhoods (squads). There are six terminators, a terminator lord, a pair of sorcerers they keep on retainer, and a Daemon Prince known as The Living Silver who goes into battle with all the chaos spawn (ive modeled them using fantasy crypt horrors, again with the silver sanguinary guard masks). They also work with a few other smaller warbands I have for specialist support. There's the Flesheaters, a khornate warband led by a helbrute (a model m fairly proud of who's entire top is a meatgrinder to feed the guy inside), as well as the Sunderers of Kem'Tar who bring a few vindicators and a predator to bear.

Lords of Decay for me. I just love the color scheme.

Ooooh silly me.

>Fresh mint
>Is literally a Monster Energy Drink Chaos Space Marine Warband.
Must be big on Daemons, posession, and drinking carbonated war drugs in blood.

also, they use Razor targeting equipment
What was that one Slaaneshi warband that was posted awhile ago? They had their armor stark white so that it could be "painted" by the battle itself. There was some other really cool stuff about them, but that's all I remember.

Never heard of something like that to be honest. In the meantime, have the Angels of Ecstasy while you look for the exact name.

I like The Flawless Host
First saw The Sanctified in the Space Marine multiplayer skins list.
They're Word Bearers that split off to worship Khorne. I like to imagine they kept their chanting and ritual and it drives Khorne absolutely bonkers.
>>54536099
Wasnt that just an idea some Anon posted last week, it was good
>>54536099
Pretty sure that was a concept for a fanmade warband, not one that actually exists.

>Have activated Razer Game booster equipment installed to shut down needless biological processes temporary to gain a boost in battle performance.
