Maybe the next general will be Iconics Edition. Also an aquatic campaign, much less an underwater one, is so far down the list of things I'm going to ever get around to that I'll probably be dead before I do it.

It's not Rappan Athuk but it's nice for those people that like to keep their characters alive for a dungeon crawl.

Big, multi-level mega-dungeon module? I hear it's pretty bland, but I have resolves to include a mega-dungeon of my own in a campaign someday. I was working on one for the previous campaign I ran, but the campaign ended abruptly due to player drama.

War for the Crown is coming out next year, though! That's a very long time to wait to bring glory to the Empire!

Also, it's kind of ambiguous as to what the heck is going on with that campaign. From the sounds of things, Prince Stavian's finally kicked the bucket and Princess Eutropia has hired on the party as her own personal agents to go forth and consolidate her power as Taldor begins to disintegrate before your eyes. From there? Who knows, but it sounds like the results of this AP are going to be monumental for the Inner Sea.

More importantly, it's worth noting that none of the SERIOUS changes happen in an AP, it's always fixing the immediate problem that happens. For example, in Wrath of the Righteous you kill an Avatar of Deskari at the end of Book 6 and close the Worldwound, but the Post-Campaign material details killing Deskari in the Abyss (a bigger deal) and restoring the Kingdom of Sarkoris. Likewise, Kingmaker ends with stopping some random Nymph queen, but Post-Campaign Kingmaker involves Choral the Conqueror and the Brevic civil war turning hot. I'm going to go out on a limb and state (quite confidently) that the Post-Campaign for War for the Crown is the stuff that details Taldor Ascendant or Taldor becoming a progressive society tolerant of all.

Also, Princess Eutropia is not only going to be the Empress of Taldor, but she's also single. Be prepared for a waifu. In fact, be prepared for the most high-powered waifus in any Pathfinder AP, as the party will likely have unrestricted access to all circles of Taldan society and their status as the right-hand men and women of an Empress means the eyes of the Inner Sea will be drawn to them.

I still find it amusing how James Jacobs has been on record saying that image is absurdly conservative compared to what Sorshen "actually" looked like. From what he's said of her, Sorshen had massive tits and an hourglass figure that could only be made by alteration magic.

The fun part is that her Lust magic corresponds to Enchantment, meaning that the way she "actually" looks when people see her might just be a projection she is putting into their mind, and she's actually a pudgy NEET who constantly exudes an aura that only makes people perceive her as pretty.
>>
>>54529083
The biggest problem my friends and I found with Emerald Spire is that the first two floors are absolutely insane, they keep you on your toes and you've worried the entire time that something might kill you and your friends. Past that, however, the floors are either one of two things but always a third, and those are (in order):
> Blindingly easy if your characters have built themselves to handle the BS in the Spire, which they should have after seeing what's in store for them.
> Infuriatingly hard, and not the fun kind of hard but the "I and the rest of my party are completely useless here, why are we even here again?" kind of difficult.
> Completely uninteresting to play in, as each and every floor was created and designed by a different person (half of the people who designed floors had also never done so before contributing to the book BTW so their level design is remarkably amateurish) so there's no sense of cohesion tying what little plot there is together.

>and they didn't do it

But they did, anon. I agree with you that they should've made the Brevic civil war the focus of the AP rather than some Fae fuckery, but it's still featured prominently in the Post-Campaign.

And that's what I'm trying to say in that post. All the cool shit happens in the Post-Campaign, in that magical period after you fix the problems and are now an end-game badass with the power and resources to make serious geopolitical changes to Golarion. Frankly, this is why they never feature this sort of bullshit in the campaign itself, because once you start pushing around the set-pieces than the established railroad breaks down nine times out of ten.

Is this ignorance on their part, or understanding that they're the blue alien space babes?
>>
>>54529259
What good is the post-campaign stuff? I don't think anybody ever uses it. I've never heard of anybody use the post-campaign stuff before, not for any AP.

A DM that used an AP no longer has the books doing the brunt of the work for them if they continue into post-campaign stuff, and they've also already reached closure for the AP they've probably spent a couple years or more running. DMs don't have a good reason to keep going, unless everybody in the group just isn't willing to make new characters for a new campaign but still wants to keep playing.

Anyway tho
>to make serious geopolitical changes to Golarion
Does Brevoy even really matter, when it comes to the nations of Avistan? Do they have anything going for them? Important exports, valuable resources, the sort of thing that would make a war against Brevoy matter to any nation not participating in the war?

Planeseeds.
Planeseeds are strange seeds that seem to faintly glow with positive energy. Where they originate from is unknown, whether it's the result of an accidental exposure to planar travel, an experiment that wasn't contained, or something that formed naturally and was brought to the prime material. When placed within the body of an undead creature, the planeseeds grow, devouring the dead flesh from within while filling it with positive energy. The end result is that the undead creature becomes completely destroyed and replaced with a statue made of still-living roots that faintly radiate positive energy, repelling undead creatures. Creatures destroyed in this manner can be resurrected as a living creature by using the statue as an additional material component, regardless of the time since the creature's death.

In some places where wild planeseeds can be found, it's said that there exist voracious and untamed strains that seek out undead to devour of their own volition, sometimes animating the resulting statues to travel further in search of prey. Planeseeds linked to the other planes (or the negative energy plane) have been theorized to exist, but never observed before.

Probably two, three at most; any more and you're just sort of like a generalist 6th-level sorcerer, whereas otherwise you can get really cool Focus Powers (which are basically spells on steroids).
>What's the most schools one should take?
As many as you can; while you should focus on a handful for your powers, having a wide range of spells is better. You can probably deal with just 6 schools on a standard occultist though, dropping Necromancy and Enchantment unless you really like some of their spells or powers.

A classic space opera borrowing heavily from Endless Legend and Ur Quan Masters with worlds and races designed to be as far removed from humans as playable.

A grounded humans-only horror-mystry game taking advantage of time loops.

And whenever the mechs are available, a heroic sci-fantasy war game.

HOW ABOUT YOU ANON, OR ARE YOU JUST GOING TO GOAD ON STRANGERS AND SHARE NOTHING ON YOUR END?
>>
>>54530245
I app-ed to Essentia. Should I be worried?
>>
>>54530921
>ARE YOU JUST GOING TO GOAD ON STRANGERS AND SHARE NOTHING ON YOUR END?
That's the plan. Whenever someone replies: "Tell me more about your setting, broheim" or "Can you give me a few more details, homiesaurus", that is me.

But the real thing is I'm already running a sci-fi game based on Macross and a few other science fantasy things. Players are on a second hand ship from Giant Aliens and doing the best they can.

Maybe I might steal a friend's idea:

The Justice League, but they are all the weirder Alien races.

Is Superman still an All-American super Hero if he looks like a Rhino Beetle?
What if our Green Lantern was one of those Octopusfolk from the OP?
Would girls have posters of Diana if she was a Space Buffalo from Starjammer?

Well, Superman is considered an All-American super hero despite being an alien-being one of over three hundred species of insect native to Earth would probably just make him more relatable. I'm not sure an octopus green lantern would have been a pilot, but the vulnerability to yellow probably has ramifications for their ability to change color. And frankly, I feel a space buffalo fighting to make the galaxy a better place is an excellent role model.

So I'm the anon a few threads back who has been getting advice on building the ultimate skill monkey. At first I was undecided between bard and rogue, then I was introduced to the wonders of the Investigator, especialy the Empiracist.

But no one did mention the unchained rogue. How so they compare? I mean even the rules or something for skill unlocks describe how unchained rogue is suppose to be the ultimate skill monkey.

Thoughts?
>>
>>54531334
While rogue is supposed to be the ultimate skillmonkey, nothing actually stops investigator from unlocking skills as well through the use of a feat, and investigator has a much, much easier time of actually skillmonkeying than rogue.
>>
>>54531228
>Superman is considered an All-American super hero despite being an alien-being
Because he has American values, and the USA is a nation of immigrants, only Superman is one from another planet entirely instead of just another nation on the same planet.
>>
>>54531334
Empiricist has the easiest time getting a lot of big skill numbers, but you won't be getting skill unlocks on them so it's a matter of how much you value those. Signature Skill can only be taken once and Empiricists tend to have some trouble spending a feat.

The list of good skill unlocks can probably be counted on one hand honestly, but those good ones are good enough to warrant consideration. Building and playing a good URogue is rough though and usually requires an accomodating campaign, Empiricist are never bad.

Exactly. If someone from a species as alien as his own could make it as an American hero, why not someone from a species actually native to Earth?
>>
I really want another level 4 gestalt game to roll out so I can debut my "Knows Literally Everything" build.

At level 4 it hits +27 to all knowledge skills when identifying monsters all the time and +41 when spending resources.

It has +17 to all knowledge skills for everything else and +21 when spending resources.

No longer would the party ever have the issue of 'does anyone have knowledge planes', for he would have knowledge planes. He would know all the planes.
>>
>>54531541
And then Anon was playing in an intrigue campaign with nothing but humanoids.
>>
>>54531541
I did my math wrong. Should be +26 for identifying monsters and +17 when not for no resource investment. With resource investment it jumps to +44 and +25.

Next we have Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 by Franz Liszt. The song's over-the-top and frentic nature fit animation perfectly, which is why it was included in so many classic cartoons. This particular one is one of my favorites, which has Tom and Jerry doing one of their classic duels to the tune of the song.
Fun fact: the song is so intense that Liszt would often have two pianos prepared because of the likelihood he would destroy one from playing it too hard.

O Fortuna by Carl Orff from Carmina Burana. This is one of those songs everyone can recognize from one place or another, most likely an over-the-top commercial. The song itself is dark and intense, the lyrics relating to the whims of fate.

Bakemonogatari's ending theme song: Kimino Shiranai Monogatari by supercell. It loses a bit of punch without the snappy animation, but the song's still really good even without it.

If you want my advice to fix this issue, what you need to do is make it clear what kind of campaign you had in mind and what options are available to them. If you told me I was playing a Fantasty setting, I'd stare at you and wonder where you're going with the story. If you told me I was playing a fantasy setting in a merchant republic city-state? That opens my options a little!

CHAOTIC GOOD
YES
>>
>>54536316

First of all, they're the Kents-Clark is the name they gave their alien son. As for why they raised them, who knows? Some combination of pity for the strange creature they found, longing for a child of their own, fear of what might happen if someone else found it. And frankly, if you can get past the whole "giant intelligent arthropod" thing, him having superhuman abilities doesn't seem like it'd be that much more surprising.

But yeah, the DC public is pretty chill about that kind of thing. As opposed to the Marvel public, who put together death squads for less.

So! Seeing as Iron Gods and Carnal Crown are increasingly hitting certified bamboozle territory, tell me anon! How's your apps for Intrigue and Essentia looking? There's only 2 days left for the latter!
>>
>>54536664
It's not the weird powers they're afraid of, it's allowing attractive white people access to the powers. As we all know, white people (especially good-looking ones) are slavers, rapists, murderers and thieves. They're really the scum of the Earth. What you must do to keep peace and order is drain them of their precious bodily fluids and squirt them into an acceptable non-white substitute, ideally a black man or Arabic woman.
>>
>>54536758
>How's your apps for Intrigue and Essentia looking?

Essentia looks boring and aimless while Intrigue's just not my cup of tea. Since there doesn't seem to be any new Pathfinder campaigns on the horizon, I think I'm just going to hunker down and wait for Starfinder.
>>
>>54532537

One has to stop wearing armor, and take a few weeks to a few months off every year and is also needed healthy and constantly present to keep the next generation from starving to death.

"I'm on vacation 10% of the time in a few years" does not PREVENT rulership, but it does rightly affect hours-worked and total veterancy. Plenty of women back when everyone was heavily physical didn't need quite as much of a vacation - although it's been shown that parental leave for BOTH sexes is much better for the child and family as a whole - but some do once in a while, and some simply don't care to go back with their new rewired brain priorities (pregnancy does that to all of us to varying degrees).

So for positions that require constant physical presence year after year, even though it's certainly not impossible and there's no real reason to bar it from females, there WILL be a higher (even if not by much) incidence of males, and as a result a slightly higher incidence of male leaders as well. It might only end up 55/45, but pretending there is and should be no difference at all is misinformation used by those who'd see women fired and sent back home under a guise of wanting equality, rather than their biological role properly integrated into society.

It doesn't have to be social discrimination, the species simply needs someone to go do something SO THAT IT DOESN'T GO EXTINCT

Man, I just want to princess carry a certain someone in my party. I think they'd love it too, even if they don't outright say it!
>>
>>54532960
>>54531979
Because there are more women than men. That's literally the reason. When there's so few men around, men become extremely valuable. Women become more expendable in comparison. If there are 5 men for every 100 women, then losing one of the 20 haremites isn't a problem, but losing one of the men is a huge problem. Further since men are, objectively, physically stronger than women, one of the original lore/culture explanations for the crude reality above could've easily been, literally, "men are superior to women because the few men born are all stronger than the women around them". It'd be weirder if males dominated society when from the start there were almost no women.
>>
>>54537450
They'd hate it. You'd be embarrassing them and making them look vulnerable in front of the others. Basic party politicking won't allow princess carries.
>>
>>54537457
Wouldn't the death of a male in this society not really matter? If the guy dies then his women go to another man, and since men can handle quite a few lovers than your harem going from 3 women to 7 just means a happier man.
>>
>>54537450

Of course it matters. A man can only handle so many women to begin with and may not want to handle them all, and women jockeying for being able to spend a night with their haremlord ends up in ridiculous harem politics except society-wide. Having a girl die could easily help those other 19 girls, but having the man die means the leftover 20 might not be ale to spend time with the man. Plus, having fewer men around means you come closer to extinction.

>>54537732

I dunno man, Scylla seem solidly like a Common Race outside of water. Sure they might be Monstrous inside it, but out of water they have a normal statline, darkvision, +2 armor, "can't be tripped", and...that's it really it looks like, definitely not monstrous tier.

The thing I hate most about Daenerys isn't just how badly Dumb and Dumber have ruined the character, it's how Emilia Clarke is the single worst actress on the show right now. Every scene with her makes me cringe, from the way she lacks stage presence to the hideous facial expressions she portrays to, my personal favorite, her inability to emote or convey emotion. That's the worst part, that's the absolute worst part. The girl can't act, she just CAN'T; happiness and sadness, anger and mercy, confusion and revelation, all of them are portrayed in the same monotonous tone of blithe imperiousness she has kept as her voice since Season 4. She whispers threats to the Spider in the same voice she whispers promises to Tyrion, the tone she gave Daario in bed is the same she uses for confusion at the state of Westeros.

This girl is supposed to be the Dragon Queen, the foundation of the show's second half. She's the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, the Breaker of Chains and (as many would put it) the Prince that was Promised. She is all of these things, and she is overshadowed as a character by the fucking Spider.
>>
>>54537813

>>
>>54538006
It's true. He needs to stop. Just PM people who care. It will reflect better upon his game that way.
>>
>>54537908
This is true, but the obvious difference in acting competency is so glaringly obvious it kind of takes you out of the scene. Another example I can't get out of my head is Daenerys talking with Tyrion at the beginning of Season 6, Episode 10, when Mereen is under siege and she's describing just what she wants to do to her enemies.

Her city is under fire, her pyramid is getting shelled, and everything in her world is being attacked... And yet the voice she uses to describe how she wants to burn her enemies alive is the same sort of voice she uses EVERY OTHER FUCKING TIME SHE TALKS.

No, this is not Vult, it's Rory.
>>
Why do so many chuckleheads use anime art around here, I can't get into my theater of the mind with bug-eyed freaks!
>>
>>54538446
Oh, in that case, just fuck off and die.
>>
>>54538465
sure thing man
>>
>>54538273
2hu at least has the excuse of being autistic, Vult is just a narcissist.
>>
>>54538451
Because I like it more than the grimdark, desaturated blandness that is most western art? And maybe your all-black fullplate knight who never takes off his helmet is keeping me from getting into my theater of the mind.
>>
>>54538273
Did one anon say something bad about him today? Better tell everyone about it. The victim complex is real. Fucking hell I am so tired of this guy's shit.
>>
>>54538199

Seriously most of the time it's just chatting, and very little aggrandizement or shit being spewed.

It's only a very select few who have already been mentioned who ruin it.

Vult is pretty much the worst person in there. Even 2hu is more likable.
>>
I finally got to stop being eternal GM and play last weekend. I could have made any character I wanted but I made a Kitsune female bard. Am I /pfg/ now? Am I...anime?

Yes, because Pixiv artists never do anything like that. Nope. It's all those awful, evil westerners.
>>
>>54538567
That's a lie and you know it
>>
>>54538627

It really isn't.

2hu doesn't have nearly the volume of posting or crowd of sycophants that Vult does.
>>
>>54538624
That's pretty clearly the exception and not the rule. Don't just cherry pick, unless you want me to as well, and have this whole thing just be anecdotal evidence.
>>
>>54538645
Oh, 2hu isn't the worst either.
>>

Hmm, you're right. After all, it's not as if we can look at Japanese games for more examples.

Everybody knows Dark Souls is pig disgusting gaijin shit.
>>
>>54538645
>crowd of sycophants
No, Vult has more...apologists. He's got friends who try to downplay his faults because they like him in the moments when he's not being a douche. It's not unusual, I'd do that for my bros.
>>
>>54538686

His players like him and they're extremely loud and annoying. Every time he opens up apps, the thirstlords come out as well. That's it.
>>
>>54538676
Who's the worst?
>>
>>54538731
Vult, hands down, for his attitude alone.
>>
>>54538698
Heaven fucking forbid people have different tastes from you, and like anime art for games that recruit from a website made for and by weebs.

There aren't any games where a busty mute bard makes sense!

And neither is Tuvarkz. Makes you think, huh?

This.

He thinks he's a celebrity, going by the way he talks about himself.

He thinks the chat in here is "Salty B-listers who didn't get into PLD"

I don't care if you shill your homebrew occasionally. I don't even care if you want a bit of validation now and then. Just don't let that be your motivation every time you open your mouth.

Don't use your name unless you're discussing your game, that's the rule if you wanna be cool.
