Octavia War ends, either Orks win and emerge as ultimate shit kicker mega-nobs to WAAAGH across the galaxy, or Nids win and come out with super-killer strains. Better yet, the war spills out of the system, creating a expanding "Octarius Zone".
Tau and Farsight Cold War goes hot, other factions try to get a piece or are pulled in when Greater Good super weapons miss their target and hit them.
Huge Genestealer Uprising, requiring a full scale Crusade to even oppose (with a ticking clock of the Hive Fleets draw to it)? Necrons start waking up in droves and decide to kill all these organics for some peace and quiet? All that shit at the same time?
Ultimately I want less isolated fights in one system or another and more huge scale conflicts (instigated by something other than Chaos or Imperium forces) and to have them all start colliding into each other. Ultimately it's a new status quo to frame more narratives, but at least shit CHANGED. I'd take unsustainable fuckery over stagnation any day. Maybe if they End Time it, they'll get it right this time.

A Skorcha is 50 pts for a t5 w6 4+ model with four str 4 attacks and mvm12 and a skorcha. They have scout and you can take them in big groups.

If you compare them to a Kombi-skorcha Nob, once you factor in the trukk/big trakk/wagon/morkagorkanaut they cost the same or less, are a little worse in melee but much tougher.

the way that strategem works is as follows :
player x charges with 3 units successfully on his turn
He gets decides to fight with 1 unit
player y, his opponent activates the strategem (after the unit has fought) and get's to fight with 1 unit out of sequence
the melee phase continues as normal , with the 2 remaining chargers going first and then alternating between units

you don't go first with that strategem , you go second , but it can't be used unless you're right after a charging unit has fought, so by definition you can only use it during your opponents turn

Aggressors are a lot cheaper and a lot worse, too. Their guns are all weak-ass S4 AP0 D1, their melee weapons are generic powerfists and their defenses are T5 W2 3+. The good thing is that they are kinda flexible and vaguely comfortable at range and in melee.
Really, though, 43pts per model is the reason you might want them. Everything else other models can do better.

I've decided to keep their equipment as-is per warhammer fantasy. I'll 40k them up by putting either brass or sculpted Inquisitorial or Ministorum =][='s on their shields.

The question is... do I:

A) Acolytes and get 12 free wounds for my Inquisitor toting Chain or Power [something] + Pistols

or

B) Crusaders and get 12 storm shield toting fuckers who get acts of faith and are relatively cheap.

The regiments are often used to settle worlds conquered by the Imperium as like victory rights, so sterilizing them all would be counter-productive for that respect (Although typical for the Imperium's sensibilities). Maybe if the Kriegers shared whatever the fuck the Vitae Womb is to populate newly colonized worlds, but as far as we know, victorious IG regiments are the initial colonists of a world. In a sensible universe they'd probably have some kind of contraception but this is 40k.

Rookie to the game here, I've been preparing a 1000 point Black Templar list and most of my opponents run Necrons, Dark Eldar, and Tau. How fucked am I? I could see Cadians (who canonically do have women in the ranks) or similar advanced and disciplined regiments having women troopers, though.

But for the majority, it seems unlikely.

I'm not so butthurt about it but I really *do* like the starship troopers aesthetic. You just need warm bodies holding guns, in unisex armor with actuators for strength anyway. Utilizing the whole population for total war, a la the soviets in WWII, seems way more grim-dark futurism. As compares to keeping the woman in cottages at home having babies.
