It depends on the setting, but to expand on the memetic answer I'd say it depends especially on how divergent you want your fantasy to be from a reality

Apemen are somewhat more realistic looking but can possibly have no practical difference to the orc archetypes, so any preference on them stems on how realistic looking you want your fantasy

I agree wholeheartedly, in my opinion, less evolved Humans are far superior to Orcs and Beastmen.
