Any edition of dnd. The risk mainly comes from how you design your encounters and environments. Make sure you explain the deadly nature of your campaign though, so that they'll take precautions while roleplaying instead of derping towards a premature end. It'll also be a good idea if they prepare more than one character, so that they don't be cry and sour the rest of the session after losing their special snowflake Drow assassin.

Obviously don't have tech priests.
