Not that much into 40k lore, but:
Sangui was best son. Dorn is best possible alive son. Magnus and Angron are pretty tragic and I like the pre heresy lore. I unironically like the Ultramarines, they have a dope aesthethics (well, I love rome) and girly was a fag in the Heresy, but it seems like it's kinda of redeeming himself now. Vulkan is the most lovable one too, the other or are too autistic or flawed in a way than I don't enjoy,specially the heretics, the loyalist in general are okay.

1. Vulkan, perhaps not the greatest fighter or empire builder, but definitely the most noble of all
2. Magnus, sure he did a fuckton wrong, mostly destroying the Webway project. If he never warned Emps, or even learned of Horus' intent, shit would not nearly be as fucked
3. Girlyman, he is a bit of dick, but nearly as much as some of his brothers, and in many of the cases he at least had some good reason for being a dick
4. Sanguinius, who doesn't like a man like him, noble, handsome beyond the realm of logic, and could fucking lay down the pain
5. Angron, before the Heresy. Angron had it just the worst, shit is not even a competition.

Special mention for Lorgar; Emps could give Lorgar a stern talking for Monarchia, but no, just bomb the whole shit and force him and his legion to kneel. I kinda feel bad for him

1. Lion. Aloof and distant. Examplary duelist and strategist but maybe not the best. Actually has obvious weakness (relationships). Primarch to my favorite chapter and legion. Probably tied for second choice for warmaster.
2. Sangy. Biggest ass kicker in the galaxy. Fallen angel.
3. Angron. Rip and tear. Tragic figure.
4. Horus. The arch traitor. Everyone loves a good villain, though his motives sometimes feel a little bullshit. Still, biblical.
5. Corvus Corax. I like tragedy, okay? He brought it upon himself and for his transgressions went into self-imposed exile.

Morty is worst Primarch easy, and that is offset by how much he gets shit on in the fluff. Pert is an insufferable, dull and aggravating character. The way he's written seems to radiate pure anti-fun.

There seem to be more Dorn fans than I figured. Cool.

He might be dull as a character, but he was everything the Emperor wanted the Primarchs to be. Of course, there's also something to be said about a man who's hard working, honest and loyal.
