So, /pgg/, hypothetical scenario comes up.

A new game shows up and it has your favorite chargen and stuff for it. Whatever you want, within reason.. The only stipulation is that you're going to be playing Bloodforge races, and Bloodforge races ONLY. Which are your favorites and why?

https://sites.google.com/site/pathfinderdspwiki/home/dreamscarred-press/bloodforge/races

Link to the DSP SRD one great anon is working on provided.

So would Vesk be more interested in drums and trombones?

Are the Ysoki always into Dubstep?

Are the Androids actually fans of classical stylings?

What about the escaped pets from Absalom Station?
>>
>>54418991
I'm sure my players would saddle me with Alicorns and Trixies

But Trixie's not an alicorn!

A Grendle and play the troll druid racial archetype.
>>
>>54418991
I wouldn't play a game that constricts me to bloodforge, it seems silly.
>>
>>54419052
I dont like the idea of playing a horse but I would totally be up for an adventure in equestria.
>>
Here comes the Third group you can join

http://paizo.com/paizo/blog/v5748dyo5ljyz?Faction-Overview-Wayfinders

A much more Science Fantasy oriented group, I think. Would join them to explore the stars?
>>
>>54419131
It's purely a hypothetical, Anon. What would you choose if you HAD to pick only a bloodforge race?
>>
>>54418991
Unironically a Blinkling.

[spoilers]I ran a game in it and you get a ton of variety there. Griffins, Gorilla like Dogs, even a few Stubborn donkeys
>>
So for the Godsplaying game. I am torn between several demi-god aspirant characters.

>Crooked Neck
A falsely accused man who was hung from the neck until dead. He rose again at a broken man with a new power from the other side. (Wasting Oracle w/ Dark Tapestry Curse || Void Prophet Zealot & Nameless One)

>The Iron Hunger
Massive hulking mercenary who has become addicted to the sweet rush of violence. Famous and revered for the breaking of a siege that lasted three years less than a week after his arrival and the subsequent butchering of the city within. (Iron Tyrant Anti-paladin || Serial Killer Vigilante)

But by lore, Harpies always stink and never wash all that blood off. I'm sure small, dumb harpies are the same!
>>
>>54419647
>monsters
So let's look at the mongolian steppes. Large raptors, bats, lynx, siberian tiger, weasels, wolverine, horse, deer, ibex, etc. live there. The dire versions of a lot of these would work. Take other animals you might be able to fit stuff like. Steppes could also see some dragon activity. Younger white dragons who don't live in prime tundra and glacial territories. Really big fictional raptors like Thunderbird and Rocs could fit in easily.

I could see giants fitting in easily as well, possibly stone giants as one of the main ones. For undead and elementals look for spirits, wind elementals, and the like.

>Make absolutely sure you establish the major NPCs from Sandpoint through a session 0, maybe even two. Don't gotta run all of Burnt Offerings, but maybe have the PCs play out the Swallowtail Festival to get an idea of how they interact with them.
>Work closely with the party to make sure they can all interact with each other and play off each other. If you don't have a party that can maintain bonds, you don't have a party that's going to be able to put up with each other as they travel to the other side of the world.

>>
>>54419754
Those last two are what really made RotJR work, or seem like it would. Those are why SotJR ended up better than FotJR. The overlong app period was basically the GM allowing people to feel out a way to establish themselves in the world, and let him pick a group that could play off each other in addition to being able to play nice with the AP as he ran it.

I don't think he even knew what kind of gold he'd struck until well after he'd started running the games. Maybe that's why SotJR turned out to be the favored son.

So here is something that is common in my setting and how my players reacted:
>adepts, being an NPC class, are relatively common (make up 5% of the population)
>adepts have a more diverse spell list, but that's not important to this post
>familiars are an adept class feature
>familiars are therefore pretty common
>because familiars are intelligent and can transfer information to their users they make very good eavesdroppers
>thieves, mercenaries, soldiers, and other professions who work in less scrupulous circles often develop the habit of killing small animals
>you have no way of knowing if that pigeon is a familiar, so you grab and snap its neck just in case (most familiars need to get back to their owner to pass off the info)
>if you find dead small animals you know secret meets took place
>dead small animals will littler military camps (ones that aren't eaten)
>players know this indirectly through a companion of theirs with the habit (it was explained in character)
>one of the PCs uses his familiar (a raven) to try and eavesdrop
>the second the gangsters see a raven one of them throws a stone at it (has throw anything and deadly aim, ends up putting the raven unconscious)
>they kill the raven just in case
>player is extremely angry and blames the setting for being unrealistic

An item from ToB. It might be in PoW.

It's like a scroll, but it lets a martial disciple temporarily learn a different maneuver when they're readied for the day.

Like Spellcraft, you need to have a high enough check in Knowledge (Martial) to decipher it.

All the Bloodforge races seem way too fucking monstrous to fit into any sort of party and I absolutely hate it. The atrocious art doesn't help either. Basically what I'm saying is I wouldn't play in that game.
>>
>>54420841
FotNS is generally considered nonsensical and was praised more for its art than its story, and it's interesting how two assistants that worked on it ended up learning very different lessons.

One took all the good aspects and created Berserk.
The other did nothing but cultivate the meme-tier stupidity and ended up with Jojo.
>>
>>54421702
Tbh this is the type of game where no one will give a shit or even enjoy having a scrub around. Your typical pfg nigger often brings PCs that solos most encounters and only dials it down as a courtesy. By being that one liablity you are giving them an excuse to go all out.

>>
>>54421821
The problem I've ran into is that whenever you do that to solve a problem, the GM adjusts encounters slightly more difficult, so you need to go all-out again, and then it becomes a feedback loop as your trump card becomes closer and closer to the norm.
>>
Which books do I allow in my campaign before it becomes a potential clusterfuck?

>>54421879
Embrace the clusterfuck. It's already happening even with 1pp only.

Restricting it to only a few 1pp books is suffocating too, unless you just want to disallow exotic races/classes but allow the expanded options for existing classes.
>>
>>54421879

>>54421992
I don't think he's drawn anything in a while.
Most of the art seems to have been traced from older shit or done by assistants emulating his style.
>>
>>54422021
Miura doesn't actually have assistants. He doesn't want any.
The less elaborate style is because Miura just started using digital art instead of drawing by hand.
He'd prefer to keep Berserk manually drawn but he's getting to old for that (Being 54 with the physical health of a hikkikomori NEET)
>>
>>54422051
>Miura doesn't actually have assistants. He doesn't want any.

In the past, he resisted getting drawing assistance, but still ended up getting a few at times to meet deadlines, and now he has a studio of about 5 assistants now that assist him semi-regularly.
>>
As a magus, is there any point to getting your weapon upgraded? Arcane pool seems to do a good enough job already.

What about the eldritch archer? Since the nerf it seems like even greater magic weapon is all you will ever need.
>>
>>54422234
arcane pool stacks with existing enhancement, but the maximum is still +5 after special abilities, so you're encouraged to take Speed or something
>>
>>54422322
So at best I would need a +2 to get early access to +5.

I still really hate that nerf paizo did to achery, I just don't see why they felt they needed to do that.
>>
>Your adventueress finds magic armor
>mechanically it is +1 and gives a 30ft swim speed
>Additionally, it is a holy item of the goddess of the sea and will give rapport with her followers
>The armor does not meet modern design practice however, exposing the wearers belly so they can swim
>The armor is in fact cursed to make the wearer feel like they are covered in writhing tentacles violating them, even creating the feeling that it is stretching out their belly from within and everyone can see

>>54422402

Welcome to the game where unwanted enchantments depraise the value of equipment.

I'm everyone here who has at some point either played or ran an ap has run into crazy shit like "the spear that killed jesus" and pawned it as soon as they got back home because it had a dumb enchantment that only served upgrading it further to be more expensive or was made of silver and thus suffered a -1 penalty to damage.
>>
>>54422520
I convinced a group I was in to pawn off a priceless plot item to a magic item mart owner, who was also a collector, one time. We got loads (a few million each) of money and a fully stocked magic item mart. The rest of the game after that was figuring out what creative things each character would do with their loadsamoney.
>>
>>54422614

>>
>>54422544
>>54422570
If you're not going to use the item 90% of the time, which is very possible if it's usually worse than whatever you're currently using, then you might as well sell it rather than let it take up storage space and carry weight.

That's not minmaxing, that's being practical.
Putting cool story things on worse equipment means the PCs are actively being penalized if they choose to use plot equips.

It was a more sandboxy game and was still workable.
We'd gotten the thing in the first place during an expedition for magical stuff conducted by some wizard-like nerd. We found the thing but then hid it, originally intending to use it to find whatever power for themselves. After it was revealed we hid the thing because we sold it off, the nerd was understandably miffed. At that point however, he wasn't a big enough deal to Intrigue us so the most that came of it was him using bureaucratic connections to hassle us when doing business in the region thereafter.

Still one of the few times I'd gotten the nemesis feat for free.

High-level gestalt mythic Godslayers campaign, I know there's one coming out right now but I want a quick, filthy campaign where we already start out with all the bells and whistles.

To put it bluntly, I want CharGen that puts my concept as much into "feverish daydream" as "workable character." The kind of CharGen that makes people go, "Oh no way in hell is that DM going to run this campaign," the kind of CharGen that seems more like the ad was put up JUST TO SEE WHAT PEOPLE MAKE.

>In the first book of Jade Regent, haven't made much progress despite playing for 3 months straight

>Players have repeated arguments
>One of them quits, leaving it as a party of 3
Should I even bother continuing? We've barely made any progress out of the first book. In fact, we're not even done with it because they move sloooow. So the options are to continue with a three-person party and toss in NPC'S to balance the power, or find a fourth person to play, which is a hassle because of our schedule. I kind of want to just end it and be a player for a while.

As long as the party is balanced it should be fine.
A friend of mine whom I consider to be an excellent GM claims that the ideal party where everyone is allowed the most possible opportunity to shine is a group of three.
>>
>>54423866
The problem with that is, one of the players is a show-off who tries to make everything about him, the other is a NEET wizard who spazzes out frequently, and the last is a fighter who doesn't have any personality, and only said four things in the last four hour session. With the fourth player gone,
the other two just hang around and barely do anything.

Honestly, it seems to me that you are actually running a pfg game and just changed the details of the story to keep the group secret.
If you are who I think you are then here is my advice. If you do not want to run the campaign then don't. Dont bother rationalizing or looking for excuses and just drop it so you can save everyone the trouble of playing a game that the GM does not want to run.

Sorcerer is best because the only thing you really want is animate dead and maybe control undead. Everything else is keeping people from stealing control from you (opposed charisma check) and supporting your minions (best control spells). The same goes for lichdom. Cha casting means maxed cha means best undeath. Some may argue oracle and in their own way, they would not be wrong. A juju oracle that summons an old one and takes that feat would also make for a good lich and undead factory with the added benefit of juju zombies which is superb.

But for me, what makes a necromancer is what he is capable when the time comes when he is deprived of his minions. In this case, I still prefer sorcerers because arcane casting is love. This is of course purely preferential, juju would be the better choice if its just pure minion power and volume.

I don't have official anything to back this, but I don't think they can. The Aegis dismisses their armor, they don't change the customizations of the armor. The Abberant is modifying their body, they can't dismiss their body. Shuffling customizations is probably your best bet at "taking off" your powers.

>Worshiping an old one and takes that feat
The one that makes you wisdom check every morning and if you fail you take wisdom damage, but lets you get an arcane spell that your level can cast or whatever? That feat's great and the whole reason I'd argue for an Oracle.

I'd probably also argue Lore and Time are decent. No necromancy focus, so you'd need to do something about that, but they both get charisma to AC and reflex saves, and Lore also has an option for cha to knowledge checks, for what that's worth. Single stat dependency is good.

Level 5. No 3pp.
For now my (mostly mundane) character have following stats:
Attack: +14 (12 rnds\day, and +12 other time)
Damage: 2d4+23 (12 rnds\day, and 2d4+19 other time) . . 18-20 x2
AC: 23
Saves: F 12 \ R 8 \ W 8

I don't know if you took Iron Will with your fighter feats or are factoring in a scroll of Shield. That's the thing, I don't know what you're already using so I have no idea what to improve.

What would /pgg/ slash /pfg/ think of allowing a PC in a hybrid class to pick a FCB from the "parent classes" instead of his actual class? Like how a Half-Elf can pick from 3 different FCBs, say, an Arcanist could pick from the Arcanist, Wizard, or Sorcerer FCBs? Obviously this would be totally worthless in some cases (Investigator with +1/2 level bomb damage, but no bombs) and comically exploitative in others (The same Investigator with +1/6th alchemist discovery) but barring maybe the fullcasters (Arcanist Kitsune with +1/4th to Enchantment DC's, the horror), it can't be THAT good, can it?
>>

True enough. I thought that a lot of information actually brings me less replies - "tl'dr" and all that.
But you're right, see, what I did:

Half-Orc (Sacred Tattoo, Unflinching Valor)
Fighter (Two-Handed) 3 \ Bloodrager (Steelblood, Urban) 1 \ Hunter (Verminous) 1

-- PB 25
Str: 22 (+3)[+2]
Dex: 14
Con: 14
Int: 12
Wis: 12
Cha: 08

01[LVL]: Weapon Focus: Falchion
01[BNS]: Power Attack
02[BNS]: Furious Focus
03[LVL]: Iron Will
05[LVL]: Extra Rage

Trait: Fates' Favored (+1 to luck), Freed Slave (+1 will)

Falchion +1
Belt of Giant Strength +2
Cloak of Resistance +1
Breastplate +1 with Armored Kilt
Ring of Protection +1

Spells 0 (unlim): Guidance, Mending, Read Magic, Create Water
Spells I (1/day): Cheetah’s Sprint, Resist Energy

AC: 23 = 10 + 2 dex + 7 Chainmail + 1 magic + 1 ring + 2 NA from beetle
Fort: 11 = 04 fgt + 02 hnt + 02 con + 1 cloak + 2 tattoo
Refl: 08 = 01 fgt + 02 hnt + 02 dex + 1 cloak + 2 tattoo
Will: 08 = 01 fgt + 00 hnt + 01 wis + 1 cloak + 2 tattoo + 2 feat + 1 trait
-- will 10 vs Fear, Refl 9 vs trample

I don't took "Leads blade" since standard for +2 to damage seemed like not much for me.

Animal Companion is dead, so Vermin Focus active all the time. He uses Beetle (+2 NA AC), but can switch to Worm (Fast Healing 1, 25% to ignore Crit or Sneak Attack) or even activate both for very short time.

In bloodrage (12 rounds per day) I take +4 to str, which gives me +2 to attack and +4 to damage (when I make single attack, so always, unless I got Haste from someone).

I understand. Well, it is heavy armor, but I'll be with speed 20 anyway. That's why I took Steelblood - it gives me +1 CMB, +1 CMD vs Overrun, +1 Refl vs Trample and +1 AC vs charge attacks (small bonus, so don't included in my post). It's not much, but fast movement wouldn't work for me anyway.

Getting a buddy for Enlarge would help. It'd reduce your AC by 2 and Reflex by 1 for 4 damage. If you're in the market for items, drugs give an alchemical bonus to stats for a bit of damage to another, which can be healed with lesser resto. Getting Furious on your weapon would be nice. Ring of Force Shield will give you more AC.

Dude, I spent 5 fucking feats to be able to see in a 30ft radius, sure, it also gives me blindsight. But is fucking 5 feats, I wish I could be any class not just monk and specially master of many styles with only 1 style

Actually the classes were 4 ninja/1 PHB monk (sohei to be able to FoB with light armor). BaB 3, 4 when FoB (monk uses his full level as BaB when FoB)

Sorry, I misread the situation and thought ASA was being recommended to get to 3d6 before level 5, rather than to augment lost sneak dice from multiclassing. I am an idiot and everybody can carry on.

Neat, at that level that's actually means 1 ki = 1 dead enemy. If all attacks connects ofc.

Somehow elves still look smug even when they're doing menial tasks. It's like a hidden racial trait.
>>
>>54423059
I realise this is going to sound retarded and totally social justicey, but a mildly political campaign in which the players are working with a newly reformed noble house. Said house was originally two weakening older houses that both had female heirs, the heirs decided to say "fuck the traditions" and get married (their parents were good friends and adventuring buddies back in the day), a little bit of magic later and they actually have an heir of their own!

Where exactly this would go, I'm not sure, both houses had a lot of enemies at the gates and their unification probably pissed a lot of people off. Maybe older dwarven / elven families that have fallen on their luck a bit would decide to try it too.
>>
Quick question; How common are fire effects in Carrion Crown? I'm thinking about taking the Burned disadvantage for my character, am I going to constantly regret it if I do?
>>
>>54429286
One might say, you'll get burned on that deal.
>>
>>54423059
>Giant escort mission where the PCs are inside a kingdom which is quite clearly losing a war against a more powerful invading kingdom. The PCs are hired to transport the princess who'll be the last surviving heir if things don't go well, out of the country which is now occupied and into a friendly neighboring kingdom where she'll be safe.
Lots of hiding her in a secret compartment in the wagon while their stuff is turned over at a checkpoint, fake identities, A bloodthirsty assassin hot on the tail.
>>
What monsters and creatures can you tame to be part of the army?
>>
>>54428649
Dwarves are excellent beekeepers actually. The poison from a wasp swarm (aka bees) is dc13 con, and the +2 racial poison save on dwarves as well as +2con makes even a 'baseline' 10's before racial adjustment dwarf able to match the dc13 check just by taking 10.

So in a mountainous region with a lot of flowers, dwarves wouldn't even need beekeeper suits because the stings are basically harmless to them.

Honey and mead would be pretty big staples in dwarven cuisine. They might get into some cultivars like apples too, or things like berries. Wheats and grains are also probably common because the extra points of constitution make the prospect of using scythes to reap fields not quite-so-daunting. They also like easy to tend animals like goats and sheep, which often leads to cheeses.

Elves on the other hand get into more forest-garden type things, where they have cultivars like avocado's which contain basically everything one needs to get by in a single plant. They're established in 'groves' where you find a whole lot of overlapping harvestables, that you wouldn't even know were there unless you stumbled upon them. The idea of elven farmlands is a long-pondered mystery to many other races. Usually apprenticing druids tend these forest-gardens. Often these places will have wild animals like rabbits or fish that are part of the deal. Most people are free to wander in and help themselves, so long as they don't do tragedy of the commons shit (which is why apprenticing druids basically serve as 'park rangers' there).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_gardening

Elves don't typically have breads or related products like pastries; they do trade for them though. "Noble" families typically have their own private grounds. Elven society doesn't have a lot of chefs, cooks or bakers, you kind of just wander into your grove-gardens and grab what you like.
>>
>>54429402
Define "Tame". You can hire some intelligent ones that acknowledge the value of some items while animals and such can be tamed by something like cavaliers or rangers to serve as additions to an army like an entire army of huntmaster cavaliers who send their dogs at people or an army of rangers who throw their pet snakes at people.
