I've got a question for anyone who's got experience with long term nation builders. How do you stop coalitions from becoming too powerful? My current game is having issues with people all allying up and stomping anyone else who acts aggressively. One player just wanted to have a little war with his neighbor and literally, 1/4 of the major powers of the world plus some minor nations showed up and flattened him for daring to disturb the peace. It happened before this once between two coalitions which was cool. They fought for 30 in game years and then made peace when most of the nations involved became weary of war.
This isn't the modern era, this is fantasy, how do I stop people from enforcing a UN "no wars allowed" policy? How do I break up gigantic alliance blocks without an arbitrary gamified limit to alliances?

Well I'm going to be the first one to say it because I have a bit of experience with that.

Either talk to them and inform them that they are not to meddle in the affairs of non-members.
Or just try and encourage others members to form coalitions of there own.
