None of the Companion-related scenarios will grant CP, however I will be adding "forfeit reward for CP" to a few I have now and to all future ones. The ones I have done so far are:

>Hellscream's Future (do a thing about Garrosh)
>After The End (BAD FUTURE IS BAD)
>Linken's Quest (Old quest chain turned up to 11)
>Arena Champion (Gurgthock's arena questlines: Ring of Blood -> Amphitheater of Anguish -> Crucible of Carnage ->Arena of Annihilation -> Gorian Proving Grounds)
>You Awaken In Razor Hill (let's see how many people get THIS old thing)
>Her Tallest (help Boss Mida Silvertongue come to rulership of The Bilgewater Cartel over Jastor Gallywix)
>Sons of Barov (help Alexi or Weldon kill the other remaining Barovian Brother to become the sole inheritor of Barov Industries - or rather, the remnants of it)

got a few more in the works besides that.

First off, get any and all Angel options you can. Then grab all the White Mage/Cleric type options, and all the Paladin ones.

Find some way to absorb holy energies into your blood or even be made of them.

Don't forget to use perks to slowly rewrite yourself into a being of pure Good!

Could we get a 0CP drawback to make the series be done with Charlton Comics characters like the initial proposal had it, before DC decided they'd rather integrate those characters into the main universe? Like Captain Atom instead of Dr. Manhatten, Thunderbolt instead of Ozymandias, Peacemaker instead of Comedian, etc.

That's pleb-tier desu

You erased the bigoted pureblood identity that would've had a problem sleeping with Muggle men. What you should have done is persuaded her to indulge in such activities while fully in control of her faculties, then she'd feel horribly ashamed and debased every time she walked on set.

So Marvel Jumps, I feel sorry for those who have Modern era. The Maker (Ultimate Reed Richards) just merged the Multiverse together. So there's now multiple earths/milky way galaxies in same universe.

What did /JC/ do in the Marvel Jumps?

Some of the limitations to powers, like only being able to manipulate non living matter with I Have become Death and only having four bodies with Self-Willed Prescence are arbritrary and non-canon. Which makes them unattractive compared to the powers that aren't nerfed. Is there a reason for that?

Oh! Awesome! I always loved Watchmen. Let's see. I'll type as I read.

>Intro:
Your intro could use a little work. The second and third paragraphs are basically long run-on sentences. Maybe a little more about the other major players of the time. Like the Nixon Act declaring superheroes illegal or Ozymandias as a titan of industry. We don't need a complete history lesson, but there are a few details people really should know before hopping in.

>Timeline:
This is not a bad way to handle locations for a Jump that mainly takes place in one spot. I would suggest stating more specifically where you start though. Or at least add in a note that says you always begin in New York.

>Background:
>In addition to choosing...
That should really read:
>You may choose your gender for free.
The rest of the line is unnecessary.

I would also suggest adding a little bit more flair to the Backgrounds. They don't have a lot of tone or flavor to them, and there's a lot you could do with each.

>Perks:
There's a couple of spelling and grammar errors that are scattered around this section. Not too bad, but you might want to run through them again.

Can't Change Human Nature seems oddly worded to me, but I can't put my finger on just what I find wrong with it.

Thermodynamic Miracles is really well done.

Legacy might cause a few issues with it referencing other Jumps. It doesn't really seem worthy of a capstone as it stands anyways.

I Am Paggliacci doesn't really need the references to Jumps at the beginning of the second sentence. It works fine without that needing to be pointed out.

Gordian Knot - I really feel there's a better way to word this without it sounding so meta.

You're Just a Man - Same complaint as above.

>Companions
Could we get a bulk purchase price for Companion Imports? Spending 800 CP to import everybody is a bit much. Mostly anymore it's 50 or 100 CP each and 300 or 400 CP for all eight.

[1/2]
>>
>>54408729
You'd need more CP than the Jump allows to get to his level.

>>54408753
>Is there a reason for that?
Balance.

The "non-living matter" thing isn't entirely arbitrary, it's mentioned by Veidt that teleportation just makes the object explode without Jon's mind to guide how things go. I extrapolated from here, taking the idea that Watchmaker is for precision and I Have Become Death for raw power. You can blast people apart with just the second one, though maybe the text isn't clear enough.

The four bodies thing is an arbitrary limit. I can remove it if people won't assume it's too broken.
>>
>>54408352
>In addition to choosing for no CP with gender you enter this world as, you also has to choose which kind of superhero you happen to be:
*which gender?
*also have?

>Fearful Symmetry
Can other people notice how the world changes around me, with the post-jump function?

>insights into just what his wrong with them, conceptually and maybe
even psychologically.
*what is wrong?

>without causing too much unfortunate consequences in the process.
*too many?

>Edge
>The fans will post on internet forums about how you're so much better than these goody-two-shoes and a mature hero for mature people.
Thank you for making this part of the perk. THANK YOU.

>You're Just A Man
Hmm. Would this apply to SMT humanity's poorly explained ability to "observe" beings of faith and reduce their powers?

The fact that Post-Humans can not actually purchase all of their powers bothers me. The "misaligned floor tiles" type of bother, not the "I think the jump should be changed" bother, mind you.

>>
>>54408759
Danny Phantom was one, due to me being a Ghost. Seriously, even when I helped I still had people screaming and panicking. At least Danny and his friends were cool. Stranger Things was another, seeing as people freaked out about me having weird powers, though I ended up becoming friends with Eleven and her new friends, seeing as she also had 'freaky' powers.

In general, there were a lot of worlds were normal people were scared or freaked out by me, causing them to turn on me, but in those same worlds I could usually count on the protagonists having my back when I needed it. Which is why I went out of my way to help them and make their lives easier, because they were willing to help me out, and they deserved it.

I have to disagree. Normally, you start in a location you don't want, to just go somewhere else. Or if there is more than one location you want to be, go to both. Timeline locations are bad because they are mutually exclusive unless the setting is about time travel.

So you could eliminate that 'non-living' bit by taking both Watchmaker and I Have Become Death? You might want to mention that and the blastyness. And having more bodies doesn't seem seem like it would be broken.

Some anons went delving for the pastebins with that It's Always Sunny jump, and I put it together into a PDF.
I hope the jumpmaker comes back and gives permission for it to get imaged, because it's a fine jump, and the mock-up imaged page looked damn good.
>>
>>54409080
Jumpers started coming back to Earth to tell us about their adventures while filling us in on the journey. As a result, the Jumpchain thread has become the international center of negotiations with the new hyper lords. This perfectly explains why we're going through new threads so quickly. Don't let the deceptive number of posters mislead you, one of the Jumpers once set it to "applesauce" for an entire hour before someone took action.

>Items:
Rorschach Test - Not really sure this should come with a guarantee that you know the other person is lying.

Drop-In Items are pretty overpriced in general. Comics are really only worth 100 CP and the Journal 200 CP, especially given the randomness of Journal.

Tell-All Book - Okay, this shit is hilarious.

Arsenal - Take out that second bit about being able to find improvised weapons. It has turned into a perk with that addition.

Mask - Holy shit what?! This thing is nuts. Tone it down a little.

>Powers
Considering the price tag for all of this, I can't really complain about the amount of power you're handing out. I feel like I should, but I won't.

>Drawbacks:
No real complaints here. Pretty well done and thematic too.

>>54409053
It says you can freely pick the one you want. That's literally the first line of the section.
>>
>>54408928
I think the way Affinity is laid out is pretty pointlessly meta desu. Just letting you choose an affinity for an in-setting race every jump should be fine, instead of having a perk that makes you do well with certain beings suddenly apply to things like teachers, or wizards, or spies, or- you get the idea.

I'm not sure why Cannibalize lifts the acquisition limit post-jump. Or has it in-jump, if you want to think of it the other way. Does this give stuff like "hunting" and "the newest GPU drivers", or would it apply to the various spells and natural abilities JRPG monsters so often have.

...I understand limiting Free Jump System so you can't just postpone the entire plot to powerlevel, but what the hell is up with a 1d10 ending up with Jump-Chan empowering your enemies?

>>54409053

>Thank you for making this part of the perk. THANK YOU.

>The fact that Post-Humans can not actually purchase all of their powers bothers me.
I don't really see how the Jump could be balanced the other way.

>>54409034
It's Watchmen, the gap in power is between a tentative "god" and people with a good training regimen. The balance was always going to be delicate unless you just don't allow people to be Discount Manhattan.

Okay, doing some rough calculations for a scheme of mine. Start with a Tyranid swarm that ate the entire galaxy during the scenario and converted all mass into more Tyranid flesh. Its mass is therefore 2.983e43 kilograms.

The Unicorn Gundam is one of the few full-psychoframe mobile suits in the Universal Century setting. It masses at 23.7 metric tons, unloaded. Assuming that I could maintain the same ratio by mass of biological psychoframe analogue in my Tyranids (built into them through the use of The Flesh Is Strong from Hive Queen Quest), that would make the psychic amplification of my swarm 1.25e38 times higher than that of the Unicorn.

Now, here's where I'm having trouble figuring out what that means. Because Banagher wasn't a very strong Newtype, but with the Unicorn he was able to pull off some impressive feats. Under his command the Unicorn was able to block 1/3 of the Gryps II Laser (with the other 2/3s being blocked by the Unicorn's psychoframe-enhanced shield pods and the Banshee Gundam). The Gryps II Laser was meant to be strong enough to destroy a space colony, so it should be pretty powerful. Let's say for the sake of easy calculations that it was exactly a megaton of energy release, 4.184e15 joules.

So that would mean a psychic with Banagher's level of power would be able to handle an energy load of (1/3)(4.184e15)(1.25e38) Joules with my swarm's enhancement, or about 1.75e58 joules. The gravitational binding energy of the Earth is 2.487e32 joules. Thus, Banagher would be able to shatter seven hundred million trillion Earths at once with this level of augmentation.

A jumper doing this would certainly be even stronger. For one thing, they'd be able to access the non-psychoframe psychic power the Tyranids are passively generating, too. For another, they'd likely start out much stronger than Banagher would. Ultimately it doesn't matter. I think this is well into the region of OMG HAX levels of biggatons. I think I'm good.

It gives you an alt-form with no biological needs, and allows access to the section.
>>
>>54409199
I was thinking more natural abilities. In Saga Frontiers spells work slightly differently as they aren't necessarily inherent unless you got a gift for it...and few feral monster enemy do. as for me limiting it in jump and giving you more post jump is because in game you are limited to only one monster skill and you can lose it if you take on another. But the goal is to become a god(Planeswalkers are god+) why not release the reigns a bit.

as for the 1d10 nothing just should be without cost or it isn't fun...if their is a chance my power could strengthen my enemies people would (at least I would be relucant to use it all the time)

Post-Human by itself gives eternal youth and removes your bodily needs. It's part of the background, not one of its perks. I kinda agree the background isn't terribly riveting for its price, but it's also the only way to get actual superpowers. Considering Watchmen actually tries to stick to real life with its peak humans instead of having people throw shields hard enough to cut through tanks, or kick down steel doors, I can accept it.

The formatting in this jump is not good, and even after reading through the whole thing I still don't what's supposed to be happening even though there are supposed organizations and people everywhere. SMT humanity is pretty damn magical in its relationship to Demons and the Collective Unconscious, so I'd say no. That's assuming you're yourself a "being of faith".

Maybe telekinesis for free? The boost to other powers is almost worth 400 CP by itself, and flavor-wise it works better as a precision boost.

Yeah, I'm just giving it a bit of a break. The last time I posted it to see if people liked the way I was doing the magic system, I got literally no responses. So I lost some of my motivation to push through the massive amount of writing I was doing for it.

Night in the Woods is basically me fanboying over an atmospheric, charming little game to get my creative juices flowing.

I'd really appreciate another 300CP drawback and/or a way to actually buy all powers. I've got really hard autism about not getting "everything" of something, so having to leave out one power hurts my soul. Besides, to get enough CP for all them them you'd have a really fucking shitty time anyway.

Huh. I must have missed you asking that question, and I'm sorry for doing so, because I very much like the way you're handling the magic system. It's good stuff. Let's be honest, Post-Human will always be the most attractive option for jumpers looking for power, which are a lot. And I think that's fine, it's a gimmick of the setting and canon. I guess you could slap on a mandatory drawback, like getting detached from humanity, but that would probably just lure some shitopsters. But what I really don't like is limiting canon abilities. I don't mind having to deal with some drawbacks that will make my stay in the setting hell to get Manhatten's powers, but not even having the ability to get them feels kinda shitty.

I just don't like how you cannot even take all the powers to be mini Manhattan. If one of the powers was included in the post-human background, than the entire set could be gotten for 1,600 CP. But it look like Surface of the Sun is also a necessary power thing to be like him. That's the 1,800 CP jump limit (If posthuman was 400 CP and gave a free power) Not even room for companion imports.

[unenthusiastic] Stop. Don't. Come back.

Seriously though, I had considered a "Replace the Protagonists" Background/Drawback, but it proved too hard to balance between requiring the Reincarnated Drawback and a few others without making it seem like the only real choice.

Taking Plot Bound and Reincarnated while being a Source Hunter will basically make you a third Protagonist though.

>>54409821
Thank you. Where were all you guys the first time around?

>>54409877
Okay, so it works like this.

An Enchanter gets a discount buying Aerotheurge spells. So you decide to buy up the whole Wandering Breeze tree because Invisibility and Teleportation spells tickle your fancy.

Novice (50 CP), Adept (50 CP), Master (25 CP) = Total 125 CP.

I know the 25 CP at Master is a little clunky, but that's because you're only getting one spell while Novice and Adept both give you two. It's also to allow people to max out both their Magic Discounts for a round 250 CP.

Page 18 has the summary of them that I wrote up which does a good job of giving the basics.

The TLDR version is that they're mages who don't live by the rules of THE MAN (Source Hunters) and use their magic whatever way they damn well please.

>>54410195
>Classes
They're alphabetical.

>Magic
I'm so grateful everyone is enjoying the way I was handling Magic. I worried over it for so long you have no idea.

You can buy into any magic that you want, even if you don't have the discount. You can learn it on your own, but if you don't have a talent for it (I.E. Discount) you're looking at a couple decades worth of work to get the Adept level.

You always have to buy the trees in order though. You can't buy Novice in Wandering Breeze then skip over and pick up Adept for Winter Winds. Unless people like that way better. It wasn't how I planned it, but I guess it would let people customize their magic even more.

Magic doesn't require a focus. Most mages use staffs or wands, but they're not required or even helpful for the process.

You can't really speed up the cooldowns on spells anymore than they already are. I was actually more generous than the game was on the lengths of those cooldowns, so using in universe stuff to shorten them further isn't going to happen. Out of universe stuff though... Well, I'm not going to rule on that but there's a ton of ways I'm sure.

As for the Blood Stones, there's already going to be a little bit of copy protection built in. You won't be able to leave them behind when your time in a Jump ends. They'll hop right back into your Warehouse when you leave. But people being able to pick up and use your Blood Stones is actually a weakness in-universe, so I'm leaving it in.

I'm just happy people are hyped enough to ask these kinds of questions. Definitely have the motivation to finish the Jump now.

I did address that in the explanation of Magic at the beginning of the section. There's not much info in the game, but the tidbits I could scrape together talk about mages passively accumulating magic to cast their spells and that after casting one they need a moment to re-accumulate the magic to cast that spell again.

While I'm not entirely sure if it's just a justification for the game's mechanics or the actual way the world's magic works in that era, it's the answer I'm going with.

So, what they "accumulate" magical energy... and then a portion of it is automatically aspected towards a certain spell, unable to be used on anything else? Because, their other spells don't need to be "accumulated". So they set aside energy specifically for each spell? Are there cutscenes which reflect this?

>So, what they "accumulate" magical energy... and then a portion of it is automatically aspected towards a certain spell, unable to be used on anything else?
Yeah, basically. You discharge a spell and start passively drawing mana into yourself to charge the spell up again. It's almost like each spell has their own mana pool that needs to be filled.

It's weird, I know.

>Are there cutscenes which reflect this?
There's not much in the way of cut scenes in Divinity: Original Sin. It's a classic RPG like Baulder's Gate. Lots of reading text boxes. There are mentions of accumulating magical energy in pieces as an actual piece of the lore, but like I said I'm unsure if it's just them explaining away the game mechanics or what.

So I'm doing my best to balance the sense of it with the lore and the game mechanics. I played with it A LOT before I decided on using something that closely resembles the property. Believe me, I was tempted to deviate a long way away from the time based magic.

The Drop-In tree is going to be all about the WEIRDNESS. The Janitor's "passive camouflage" is a great idea for a perk though. There's a cryptic perk already in the Adult /Cultist tree. I'll think about the drawing others towards you Perk, but I'm not sure it really fits the Janitor very well.

Formatting looks slightly better, but now you've decided to do a massive exposition dump which still doesn't really say much other than "here are factions, they all have a goal each. they may not matter, you can do whatever you want". Your drawbacks don't help in terms of this, because they're all just "here's one thing that happened to you, live with it." Is there supposed to be no overarching conflict or no interaction between any of the characters and factions? Is this setting just about people sitting in a place and doing things that don't make a difference?

Your choice of perk design is peculiar. Like how Mage has a double tree, and yet the Vagabond's capstone specifically mentions it needs the Mage Capstone as well. Are you trying to do some sort of perk synergy like other jumpmakers have? Because it isn't working very well here.

You basically have no unique items outside of the 600 CP item because so many of your items lock out backgrounds. Is this intentional?

My side chains usually don't make it off the ground because I have difficulties getting the initial premise off the ground. For example, I wanted to do a Chain where I as myself die and go to Disgaea and become a Prinny, taking the Scenario to become a Prinny Overlord, and then only going to Jumps with demons and proper versions of Hell, annexing parts of them into my Netherworld, but I couldn't justify Prinny Overlord being able to take Priere in a fight.

Or, I had another one where I wanted to take Saint's Row as first Jump and take the Drawback that traps you in hell and prolongs your stay every time you die, but I couldn't get myself into the right mindset for the sort of person that suffering that sort of Scenario would create.

Well... Forgotten Realms has the Wall of the Faithless, which is probably the most pointlessly evil one. Not sure how strong it is though.

Exalted doesn't actually have it (yet), but during a large chunk of the 1st Age, the Magnus argued to turn the Neverborn into a giant Neverborn-Soulsteel tomb-wall around Creation. Which seems like it would be pretty stronk.

>>54411164

Yeah... but the Sun's duty is protecting Creation and ruling Heaven (ignore both means both are currently fucked), Luna mostly fullfills her duties simply by existing, and the Maidens foisted pretty much all of their duties on the Sidereals and Pattern Spiders.

The gods in FR would probably need to actually get off their asses more than the Incarnae.

>in the game itself there is no overarching story.. it is just hey there are 5 maybe 6 general storylines with each organization or power but there no Big Bad that everyone must fight....

It's not about having a primary antagonist, it's the way you use language that makes it seem like nothing actually happens in this universe because you basically give a list of people and things then have the readers try to build a story. You're basically giving cliff notes and expecting people to know what happens from the points you decided to mention. There's no frame of reference in terms of time or history, there's no appeal other than your very blunt line saying you can do anything you want in the Region.

>Mages don't have a double tree they have more options that lock the other option out...like Time magic and Space magic you can't have both you have to choose or the other.
It's a double tree in terms of available choices. Mages effectively have more than a single path that they can go off of within their own options, but your other backgrounds only have one. Even if choosing one locks out the other, there's still a wider range of choice available. This doesn't begin to go into a background to background comparison of the perks, which has other problems in it.

>Yes things like Mec or technology are heretical to the mystics and mages though I did forget to make a region map for the mages... heroes wouldn't take a servant or slave or have a business they are supposed to be selfless and heroic. they aren't batman
If people are supposed to act in a certain way once they take a background, this should be mentioned, instead of hinted at by placing item blocks.

>>54411406
Honestly? Given the choice between the two of you Wonka is pretty much always going to choose Charlie over a Jumper. It varies depending on the version, but Wonka usually says he wants an heir who will do things the way he tells them to, not someone who will do things their own way. Putting aside Jumper stereotypes, just having an adult's mind would probably discourage Wonka from picking you.

And yes, this is kind of stupid. That's why some adaptations give Charlie something more substantial to show he deserved to win.

>>54411416
Wonka is nuts, man. He probably would figure out you're not a "normal" child, and he probably wouldn't give a shit until you actually started breaking things.

>Magic in Rivellon is a bit different from what you will find in other realms. For one, commonly used magic is almost exclusively focused on what can be used in and around combat situations. This is due, in part, to the tight reign magical colleges and Source Hunters have placed on the practice of magic. While there are undoubtedly more ways Magic can be used, much of the world doesn’t seem keen on experimenting when it could result in a Source Hunter kicking down your door and murdering half your family.
This sounds like terrible. Above it sounded like Sourcers were standard mad cultists. This makes it sound differently, like anyone trying to find non killey uses of magic gets killed even if they aren't kidnapping the local virgins. Do the Source Hunters ever get slapped down?
>He was a Sourcerer!
>He was a Geomancer working on a Wall of Stone spell for construction purposes. And paid his taxes. Have fun being a fugitive murderer on the run from the law.

The problem I have with the magic is how it is structured differently from the skills, but classes don't have the same numbers of each (3 skills & 2 magics, 4 skills & 1 magic, 5 skills) since it makes the discounts uneven.

For the Skill, I think a 100CP novice/ 200 adept would be better, with no prerequisites and discounts as normal (lowest discounted being free) would be easier. Someone with a skill discounted would have novice level free, and could be adept for 100 CP, others could have novice for 100 CP, or adept for 200 CP. Have magic go 50, 100, 200, with discounts being free,50 CP, 100 CP. Again, just take the level you want.

I actually do kind of want to make it, I just procrastinate really badly and haven't typed up anything yet.

Current idea is that origins are Good kid (based on Charlie and doing the right thing), Bad kid (the other kids and getting away with being a spoiled brat), and Drop-in (stumped, maybe being a responsible adult or finding a half-way point between growing up and keeping the good qualities of childhood). Some kind of creative origin, based on Wonka, is a possible fourth, but I'm scared it would overshadow the other origins. There would be a Pure Imagination perk, which would either be the fourth origin's capstone or an expensive non-discounted perk, that's based around creating Wonka-style wonders. Also, a "choose your adaptation" 0 CP drawback that will explicitly mention the Tom and Jerry version, just in case you didn't know that existed. And a "so much time and so little to do" 0 CP that ends the jump something like a day after the tour, because the name is just perfect.

Also, a 0 CP, mandatory drawback that gives you a personalized temptation on the tour. It doesn't come with any kind of compulsion, so all you have to do to avoid it is not touch anything, but it's a fun hook and you get a song about your personal failings if you bite the bait. It'd probably also explicitly come right after Mike's, so that you won't even miss anything if you do decide to go through with it.

>Source Hunters are terrible people.
For the most part, the few Source Hunters we see aren't really all that bad. But the organization as a whole has a bad reputation given to it by the zealots among their ranks. A few of the higher ups seem to specifically order the rank-and-file to take an extreme hard-line view of unusual, strange, or new magic because, in the past, these have been the hallmarks of "corrupted" magic.

But out in the field, Source Hunters are pretty independent and apply their own experience and world view to the missions they are sent out to investigate. So your Geomancer twisting Wall of Stone for construction purposes will probably have an eye kept on him for quite a while, but only really bothered if one of those zealots get sent out. And even then, murdering someone who was obviously not harming anyone and even using their magic to help out would be frowned upon even by the zealot higher-ups.

>Classes
Every class has five discounts. One Magic, one Weapon, one Defense, and the final two placed as appropriate for the class's flavor. Enchanter slips around this due to none of the weapon choices really fitting and I didn't want to make up something to cram in there.

So while yes, the Discounts are not perfectly even, they do suit the flavor of each class.

>Skills
Ah, I see the issue. Skills are discounted, but you do not get the 100 CP one for free. So buying Novice and Adept is 200 CP if you're buying on Discount. That's why it's priced that way.

I know it's hard to see with the Jump half-finished, but I agonized over the "budget" of the build for a while and came up with the prices I did due to wanting people to get the basics of their class without dipping into Drawbacks.

Perks (Full Line on Discount) - 600 CP
Weapon (Adept) - 50
Defense (Adept) - 50
Magic (Adept) - 50 (Adept of three trees with Stipend)

Take this however you want, but a part of the problem I'm seeing is in your writing. Your new opening exposition basically makes the original location descriptions come off as bland, where each location basically describes a trope that the area is supposed to follow + some namedrops, which don't work if people don't know what the significance of the namedrop is supposed to be. Why do I care about this Mondo? Is BlackX supposed to be significant if it gets a paragraph and nothing else? Your pitch for this setting is that it's full of wondrous and dangerous things, but then you just end up running off a list of names with no frame of reference for any of it. What part of this setting is supposed to be wondrous or dangerous? Is it just because I have the flexibility to do anything I want? This problem gets worse when you point out that there is apparently no plot or action that takes place. The hints that you're dropping probably make sense in your head, but a reader can't read your mind, the only thing they can do is focus on where you place emphasis, and you don't use emphasis very well anywhere in your document.

Even the blandest of games will still have a world to portray. It doesn't have to be original, it doesn't have to be unique, but if there isn't a setting, there can't be any action.

The choices that you make for locking out perks, locking out items, or telling the reader that they explicitly can't learn certain things needs to be explained inside the document, not explained as a response to commentary. If you don't add it in, anyone who doesn't know the setting won't know why you put it in.

Your math doesn't look right to me. Because those totals are for novice level, not adept. Currently Novice is 50 CP (total), and Adept 200 total (for skills) or 100 total (for one of the branched of magic) if they are discounted.

I'm operating on the assumption someone trained in a class should have novice level in all that classes stuff as a minimum. That is background memories level stuff. And seasoned or talented members of the class would be looking at some adept levels.

(I know very little here)

Afghanistan was a hell hole. A nasty war zone. I didn’t really want to get involved in this one with my companions. Some group that it turns out were backed by Cypher kept trying to recruit us which led the big boss to us.

I had found out about Big Boss’ return and his crusade against Cypher. I didn’t trust Cypher so I decided to join up with him and his diamond dogs.

There was some weird plot involving a parasite that killed people who spoke English. I was able to figure out the plot and make a cure for the parasite before any of the devil dogs died. There was more stuff that went on. The big Boss that I was working for wasn’t the real big boss. I was able to remove the shrapnel from his head. I also gave him Aura and a Stand which he put to good use.

I also was able to control Metal Gear with Technopathy which turned out very helpful.

also , given their time traveling nature. You may have just Completed the stable time-like loop that causes the Whenwolves you despise to exist so Thank that causality you love so much for that.

God damn it, what you just said is so stupid I can't even see straight. I'm not joking, my vision is blurring as some sort of reflexive defense from my body to keep me from reading your nonsense. Bancho. Whenwolves...are not real. There is no closed timelike loop going on here. Because of that, I obviously do not actually despise them, and so it's clear (to everyone with properly functioning brains) that I was just making a dumb joke. Also, if they're time traveling, they're very explicitly not following causality. That's acausal behavior. Literally everything you said just now is fundamentally wrong on every possible level. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I need to go have a lie-down and rest my eyes. Because that vision blurring thing wasn't a joke. It really wasn't.

If you don't add it in, anyone who doesn't know the setting won't know why you put it in.

I did explain in the jump document why things are locked....example: if you read the magic say Time Magic and Space Magic they oppose each other. IN GAME you aren't give more than that...maybe time fucked space's sister so they are beefing...I don't know. So I can't say more then I am given. And yes I took some creative licenses but I wanted to say faithful to the source. That is one of the reasons I loved Saga Frontier. Not as much as Saga Frontier 2 as they finally instead focused on two very world changing events and repercussions felt throughout that time period.

In Game you are give your choice of scenarios...Blue or Red or Emelia or T2605 or Allesus while you meet these characters if you don't choose them at the start you don't do their storylines or their missions. You don't go and fight Black X as Allesus her focus is the Charm Lord. You don't deal with Joker as Blue your mission is getting life magic. It is like me and you exist on the same planet but our lives don't intersect...we talk but I am not trying to save your sister and you aren't trying to revive my dead cat...

however, thank you for feedback..

It's not easy. No matter how much you've fantasized about it, waking up in another world in another's body – an inhuman one at that – is something you simply can't be prepared for by living a normal life. But at the same time, there was a sense of excitement, almost giddiness.

I was in a world where magic was REAL. Not only that, but I already had knowledge in my mind of how to use it. After I acclimated to the situation somewhat, I spent nearly a whole day simply using magic. For no particular purpose, just because I could. It was amazing, something beyond anything I'd ever experienced. To shape the world with my will… I felt like a god.
And then, he showed up. How he found me, I have no idea, but that fucking elf simply came waddling out of the treeline with that stupid smile on his face, practically tripping over himself to praise me even though I hadn't really done anything. It was… bemusing at first. But then it quickly became apparent that he was not going to leave me alone. I tried everything I could think of, racking my mind for knowledge of spells implanted in it. I tried an invisibility spell and simply sneaking away, but he stepped from behind a tree and nearly scared me shitless. I tried charming Jim and convincing him to leave, but he seemingly didn't even notice the spell. I even tried having a skeleton hold him in place while I ran away, but surely enough he simply appeared a few minutes after he was out of site.

Resolving myself to his presence, I went to find some food and drink. Only to remember that I had no way to actually pay for anything. Luckily it’s easy enough to find food with magic. Of course, a stolen apple and a rabbit charred by magic aren't exactly a grand supper, but it did keep me alive.

I think by now you should realize that not everyone who reads your document is going to be on the same page as you. No one knows that you put in one line fiats because that's all you have to go by. Realistically, no one knows what creative licenses you may have taken, or whether you're faithful to the source or not.

You can't seem to separate between the game's mechanics and the world that's within it, but that's your choice since you're the jumpmaker. If you feel that what you've made is good and reflects what you want to see in the setting, upload it to the drive, I don't see anybody else raising any problems in any case.

I also managed to find the local Mage's Guild hall and asked about admission. But… no one seemed particularly keen on my presence. They told me what I'd need to do for membership, but other than that I was mostly met with disinterest at best and scowls at worst. Honestly I couldn't blame them with the annoying elf following me around every step I took.

Still, I managed to gain admission and over the course of months, I worked my way up, earning respect and even friendship, all the while increasing my skill with the arcane. I even grew accustomed to the presence of my… fan. And then, just as things were going well, it all had to go to shit. A literal hellhole opened up and spewed forth demons. The guards mounted what resistance they could, but the city was quickly being met with the threat of being overrun. I helped out as much as I could, summoning, throwing destruction magic, and healing the wounded.

Tryhard,

Terashitting is a long, time-honored tradition within the snowflake walls of our containment thread. However, flipping shit at everything he says is retarded and it lessens the impact of legitimate witch-hunting after he steps on his fetish-infested dick or casually says something staggeringly immoral and or dangerous. I know there's the impetus to be part of the cool kids, even here, gods know why, but restrain yourself unless or until he says something worth rhetorical flaying.

Thank you.

But it looked like all we could do was stem the tide. Until a stranger ran into the midst and cut down several daedra. He yelled something about knowing how to close the gate from the inside and started cutting a path straight through the demonic hordes. Despite how terrible of an idea it was, I found myself following after him – my fan right behind me, of course.

We fought – or rather the superhuman cleaving daedroth in twain did, I mostly offered support – our way through a hellish landscape and up the tallest tower. We tore out a glowing orb from the summit and found ourselves standing in the mundane world once again. We were met with shock from those who were still there; not that I could blame them, I hardly beloved we were still alive either. The shock quickly turned to cheers as they rushed forth to greet us, but the stranger muttered something about having a mission and slipped away, leaving the crowd to greet me… and the elf, as heroes. We were given a heroes feast even though we hadn't particularly done much and the city actually started celebrating our presence instead of barely tolerating us.
I returned to my studies after this but soon grew restless and set out to find adventure. Before I knew it, my anniversary of 10 years in this world slipped up on me and I felt all fade to black.

Short of Hellsing, Overlord probably has the most powerful werewolf form by virtue of just the setting's powerlevel in general. The ability to be a fluffy wolfguy/girl when you aren't a monstrous killing machine is just a bonus. Hellsing is good because it has the most utility with on the fly form change and the mist ability, being mute for the jump's duration sucks though.

Hellsing Werewolves are one of my favorites, though the loss of voice is a big downside.

Honestly though, my favorite Were-creature has always been Moonrats from Dungeons and Dragons. The neatest thing is, instead of getting stronger and bigger when the moon is full, they get smarter depending on the phase of the moon. When it's full and there were a bunch of them gathered together, they're smarter than some wizards!

It always struck me as a really creative idea and I've always been sad I wasn't able to incorporate them into a campaign in a meaningful way.

Hellsing werewolves are pretty rad. In addition to going mono-e-mono with Seras (which is, if you take out Alucard hax as a standard, pretty impressive) and probably would have won if he didn't want to die in battle. You get a wolf-stand-spirit thing to transform into that you can move around at high speeds, and can shift into a mist to avoid taking hits, and tank cannon shells pretty handily.

I do wish it could have an actual werewolf (the half wolf, half man sort of thing) but that's more an ascetic taste than anything else.

I wondered that too. The nearest scenario I could think that would make sense for the setting is if you were a Fledgling Vampire and someone fed you a Werewolf as your first kill. That would kind of mesh the two together in some kind of extra unholy mess of power. I mean, holy shit, that's a lot of raw power to cram into one form. It would probably add the weakness to silver into the Vampire though. But it might cancel out some of the sunlight annoyance and inability to cross water.

Nothing like that ever happened in the manga though. I'm pretty sure the processes were mutually exclusive, but I don't remember that being outright stated.

I've never had a chain appropriate to take both options at once and write about it. But I have given it some thought.

>In Fire Emblem Valentia is it possible to use the notes Grima was guarding to turn an already existing dragon into one similar to him?

Maybe, but you'd need a lot of time. Grima took a longass time to be the powerhouse that he was (It's implied that a lot of time has passed from Grima's creation at the time of Valentia), and that was with presumably constant sacrifices to him. You'd have to need something other than the notes if you want to speed it up.

>Also what does it mean it needs a host and a perfect one at that?

It's based on how Grima needed the Avatar of Awakening to become truly powerful or to manifest in this world. Supposedly the Avatar is the result of someone trying to make the perfect host of years. The Avatar's father, Valibar, could not be the perfect host to Grima. But the Avatar is the perfect host for Grima. If you want your creation to manifest properly with the notes as-is it'll need a good host. But it's possible to improve upon them if you do research.

>They aren't paying 600 CP for it in universe either.
True, but they are hunting down incredibly rare and powerful artifacts to transform into Blood Stones. So rare that they have been literally tearing apart the country-side for years and have only found a half dozen or so.

And those only exist because they're the splintered remnants of God-appointed Guardians of the evil box.

But I could tack in the necessity of you tracking down and murdering a God to get a half-dozen shards if you really want me to shoot for complete accuracy to the canon material.

And, if you actually read my comments above, you'd see that I specially said I'm not going to comment on how things in the Jump react to out of Jump powers.

>Two questions. Two yeses. Can you figure out which two questions these two yeses fit with?
Yes you answered both questions yes, because you cannot grammar.

The thing I requoted was the first question you answered yes to, Einstein. And answering yes does not tell you which condition is true.
The question was in the form of
"Does A or B = True"
Answering Yes is what mathematicians and morons reply, since all it tells you is the answer is not C, D, or E. Not which between A or B or the correct assumption.

If you had a brain you could have answered "The Former. Yes" or "The Latter. Yes" to the first post. Let me illustrate.

>Are you a high school dropout?
This is a question that can be answered clearly with a yes or no. If yes, you dropped out of high school. If no, you didn't drop out.

>Are you a high school dropout or something?
This is more complicated. Answering Yes COULD mean you dropped out of high school, OR it could mean something else like you were beaten as a child and have brain damage, or suffer down syndrome, or have some other excuse for what is wrong with you.

So lets try again, dumbed down version. Two questions.
Question 1
1: Do the punch eyes from F/SN take your perks into account?
Question 2:
2: Do the punch eyes from F/SN just take the physical force your biological fist could exert into account?

Wonka's rich and crazy, which is exactly the kind of combination that makes people immune to bribery.
The whole plot is basically he's planning to retire, and before he does he's going to give his entire factory and all of its holdings to the control of whichever kid doesn't die at the end of his tour, the children involved having been randomly selected by lottery.

What I'm saying is, there is not enough money in the world. If you want to gordion knot this bitch, you would have far better luck pulling ridiculous jumper charisma hax and pretending to be funny and whimsical for a day. He'd probably eat that shit up.

Before the golden tickets, he was a recluse who lived in his factory and it had been years since anyone had seen him, so no one would notice if he disappeared. Probably the same sort of stuff Rin has. Spells for channelling that energy, using the gems as bombs or stored spells. Elemental magic would likely be quite present and the same with stuff that's just big booms. So a bunch of attack spells and spells for channelling/transferring/storing energy.

Log horizon question, I took overskill, scribe subclass and sigilmancy subclass. Does it make sense to overskill the two into using mixes of sigilmancy and scribe to lower the costs lf high power contracts via magic writing and on the alternative flipside, use scribed sigilmancy to create semi permanent custom enchantments?

I went as a summoner but I want to upgrade my boat to get off the island and to be frank my boat keeps bursting into flames before I can reach the next town. I intend to make automatic defenses or upgraded thi gs like enchant the sails with wind catching, enchant the boat to cut through the water better, make it more strong in the defense areas, make it fucking fireproof.

As I understand it overskill is applying real world logic to a situatiom basee on game logic, and I figured mergkng magic contracts with magic symbols of power would give a form of magic script.

There is a reason you are the person I most loathe here. Others may make arguably terrible jumps, but you are just a terrible person. You don't understand something, and your first impulse is to belittle and blame the other person. It brings to mind the old adage about never arguing with idiots, because all that happens is they try to bring you down to their level. You can't really talk to them, or they wouldn't be idiots.

On the bright side, the trend is dying down hard. There was a big burst, then a massive die-off, and now slowly it's dwindling and dying off further. I personally think some retarded execs hit on a retarded idea to sell to an audience that spends all their cash on shit like this, and overestimated how many cucks there actually were in the world. I could be wrong, not really into the whole subbing scene.
>>
>>54416215
No, because Angelic biology isn't magic, so unlimited mana would do nothing. They're soul-based, but not magical souls. They're just in a universe where dualism is correct, that's not the same thing as magic existing. Also, Heaven's Feel still has limited power, even if the energy reserves are unlimited, so even if Angels were magic it would still be useful to have a second source to fuel their abilities with.
>>
>>54416251
The artists are technically independent, but to get published in these tanks and magazines they have to go through editors and the like, who will try to suggest/change things, and the magazines/tanks are owned by corporations who have executives and owners. Hell, people that commonly work with these magazines effectively get controlled by their editing team and do whatever they tell them to do or insist on being what will sell, instead of drawing things they like, so these companies end up actually controlling what doujins get made. It ends up being a lot more like freelancing.

Now, nobody HAS to work with these companies, some people swing it alone or work with a much less business like circle, but you make more money publishing in these big mags and get more exposure UNLESS you're really popular already.

No, I think it's far enough away to not combine. The energy in an NGE-verse soul is conventional sorts of energy, just arranged exotically. Miss Militia. She's the most patriotic immigrant to ever have the ability to machine gun nukes.
Dragon. Simultaneously the most moral, powerful, and capable individual of the entire setting.
Narwhal. Forcefields with a cutting edge, capable leader, likable, has her shit together (a rarity, particularly in Worm).
Contessa. Dedicated, and stone cold. Totally not the author's waifu. Literally mathematically perfect at any task (yes, even that) she sets out to accomplish barring deliberate, tailored precog/power blocking.
Ingenue. Her power is literally to be your waifu.

There's a whole bunch of capes that are fucked up teenagers at the start of the Jump, but if they manage to live to adulthood would be interesting. Also just what you're looking for in a waifu. Some people want crazy, some people want devoted, some people want smug, some people want sweet.

We fateposting? We fateposting the shame shit.

Imagine, if you will, that the love of your life being forced to fight against you in the Holy Grail War. He is literally forced you to kill you. You can't kill his master to save him, because he has issues about loyalty and wants to be loyal to his master so very much. If you kill him, it will drive a near-permanent wedge between you two, probably..

Even when his master doesn't give a shit about his feelings, and his master's wife wants to force him to fall in love with her with a command seal. Which is terribly awful. But you try to kill his master and steal his command seals anyway. Because frankly, even if he doesn't love me, it's better than him suffering in that awful situation.

But then he's forced to fight you because his master summons him with a command seal, and you're forced to kill him with your servant.

And then you choke his master to death for that, so you can feel his soft flesh squirming inside your hand and gasping for air

Heartbreaker is a guy who mindrapes people into loving him fanatically. If you can hear him, it's too late. He's also really good at finding ways to slip out of any attempt to capture him (partially his own, partially his kids powers, and partially the powers of his puppet-slaves.)

The Slaughterhouse 9 - Murderhobos that do serial killer shit on a massive scale. Members include, but not limited to, Crawler (if he survives the attack, he adapts to be permanently immune to it), Shatterbird (has the power to control all silicates, like glass, telekinetically. Range is basically city-wide.), Burnscar (pyrokinetic. Can teleport between fires.), Bonesaw (the bio-tinker. Canonically the only person to figure out how the windworm connects enough to make things with two people's powers - using the original people's brains.), Siberian (projection that can break through the unbreakable, injure the uninjureable, and other similar bullshit.), and Jack Slash - The guy who can talk almost any parahuman into anything.

Nilbog - Guy who makes critters and took over Ellisburg. Hasn't been killed yet because precogs say "bad shit happens if you nuke/whatever your latest plan is."

The Ash Beast - A perpetual explosion that used to be a person. Moves at human walking speed. Leaves nothing but ash in its wake.

There are others, of course, but that's a small sample.
>>
>>54417176
The wording
>No amount of sympathy
Doesn't imply there's no sympathy, it states outright that sympathy doesn't overwhelm the disgust reaction. Kind of a different statement from what you're pushing here.
>>
>>54417148
Just use the character motifs and separate them by the teams, if you start from early on before the Nest Saga it's easier, and if you knew Garou Densetsu then it's even simpler. KoF doesn't bother with major retcons, so characters like Kyo, Andy, Chizuru, Iori are all pretty much the same with minimal retcons, and then people like Geese and Ash don't last long enough outside of memes.

You want a real confusing story? Try Dong Dong Never Dies. All of the story is literally nested in the pre stage dialogue and in between two stages.
>>
>>54417115
Off the top of my head, you have

Heartbreaker: Canadian dude who mind controls a large number of women, is free to continue what he's doing
Ash Beast: A living explosion that wanders around Africa attacking places like a discount Endbringer
Three Blasphemies: I have no idea, they are based in Europe and if I remember correctly attacked and killed a head of state once, they received no recourse.
Moord Nag: A warlord in Africa, has a projection that gains powers as it kills people, is constantly killing a lot of people to maintain a competitive power level
Nilbog: Claimed a town in America, thinks he's a god, nobody bothers to stop him. He can make creatures that serve him with biological material.

There are a shit ton of others that aren't mentioned as more than a 'those guys exist'.

>Bad Guys in Worm
Most of the cape population. On the flip side, arguably just messed up people in shitty situations. On the other hand, a lot of them are just assholes at this point.

Slaughterhouse 9, a wandering band of murderhobos (literally), particularly Jack Slash. Seeing as he's functionally a Cape-Master, coupled with being the author's favorite little plot device, it's arguable if the rest of the group are all fully culpable for their actions. Bonesaw, for example, is his indoctrinated minion. Crawler is the ultimate masochist, but left to his own devices he'd have been fighting the Endbringers. Cherish joined up because she was more scared of her superpowered rapist father than them. Mannequin has major brain damage. etc, etc

Brockton Bay has Empire 88, ACTUAL NEO NAZIS with everything that comes with. They're racist, they run dogfighting rings, they're acceptable targets.

Europe has a bigger Nazi movement, can't remember the name.

Africa is a wartorn shit hole, complete with some fucked up pyrokinetic, Ash-something, who just wanders around and destroys anything they run into.

Central US has Nilbog, who was driven insane by his power, and is discount Tyranids with no hivemind, but tons of annoying subspecies. Probably sitting on top of a superpowered plague. Has minions that when lit on fire or nuked just use the energy to multiply.

The Elite, who ShjM:C< are boring and annoying, but are an international organized crime ring.

Cauldron, who are, strictly speaking, trying to do good, in theory, and according to Author's insistence. They are harvesting the flesh of a dead alien to make artificial superpowers to try and kill the OTHER alien before it murders humanity across an arbitrarily large number of dimensions. This process involves a shitton of human experimentation. Continuous human experimentation. The process makes a lot of dregs and horrible mutants.

Word of God is that shit would be a Lot Worse without Cauldron propping stuff up.

Well, Wildbow's got a lot of WoG things about why Nilbog is still around, and why people's fanfics are all wrong. The gist of it is that Nilbog's creations can also be microscopic, self perpetuating, and would go apeshit viral if he stopped controlling them.

Given that most precogs get results like "black" or "bright purple" instead of meaningful information from their precognition, unlike the ones we personally see using theirs, it really doesn't matter what the plan was if those are the results from hearing about it.

My solution to Nilbog involved Bonesaw and the Zerg.

Keeping in mind that this plan was made under the "we can't see shit" restriction of Scion/Eidolon/Endbringers, it's a stupid plan.

It's like looking at a map of a battlefield, having no idea what your enemy has, or what some of your allies can do, and trying to make a comprehensive battle plan that micromanages everything.

Ooh, quibble. Someone has a dictionary on hand.

But yeah I would agree with that, though if anything that makes it the original jumpmaker's fault. The quester apologized and left when asked, there's really nothing else to do at that point.

You gotta out edge him.

Toggle your shard off with Toggle. (Unless shards don't work that way or if it would be too easy depending on how you fanwank it) so he can't say anything.

And teleport behind him and slit his throat (With a "pssh, nothing personal kid" in his ear).

Done and done.

If Cauldron had wanted to make smart plans, they would have been keeping an eye out for others to recruit.

Tattletale could've done a lot, especially if she were put with others who could check her results and make sure she had good information to start from.

Dinah was a better precog than the rest of the PRT precogs combined. Pair her with Number Man.

Coil. Fuck, Coil could've been insanely useful for Cauldron. He could simulate thinker sessions, and give those results to the thinkers before they actually did any work.

She got thrown into foster care when she was like, 5. Since this is Worm and she's gotta go through some shit to get powers, she was put with a very controlling guardian, who locked a dog she secretly adopted into their pool with one of those fancy automatic covers, wanting to teach her a lesson by drowning it. That's when she got her power, which resulted in 1. Her dog hulking out and murdering the entire family she was with and 2. Gave her perfect knowledge of dog social skills. Since she was immediately treated as a mass murderer (due to people assuming she can actually control animals she enhances) she never had a chance to really interact with normal humans.
>>
>>54417422
This >>54417446 >>54417449
He constantly relies on the crutch of his power without ever realizing it. His Shard communicates with other Shards constantly, and he recieves the information subconsciously, and assumes he just has amazing instincts/psychoanalysis abilities.
You wanna do it personally, and have a Shard? Some sort of dimensional locking technology would keep him, and any other Parahuman, from interacting with their Shards at all. No connection means no powers.
In fact, dimension-locking would fuck up Endbringers and even Scion. They all pull mass and energy from other dimensions to keep themselves going.
This may just slow down some Parahumans, especially Case 53s with altered bodies. It may also kill Case 53s that are too far altered to survive without the aid of a Shard. And Tinkers may be able to keep fighting for a while, depending on how much tech they have in reserve and how temperamental it is. The rare Thinker, like Victor, could probably survive for decent while, depending on whether his stolen skills are stored in his meat-brain or his Shard.

>>54417488
Not either of them, but make a super tech rifle of your own to counter his relatively paltry upgrades. Problem solved. Bonesaw's stand-alone work isn't that impressive in the post-human department. She shines when it comes to making monsters.
Also, just removing Bonesaw from the situation may cause him to eventually die. Every improvement is the result of Tinker-tech, and that shit's so finicky that without the creator to maintain it every few days or so it quickly breaks down. I certainly wouldn't want failing Tinker-tech inside me.
>>
>>54417649
Jack Slash's shard isn't really the ability to make persuasive arguments are anything like that, it's just ridiculously good 'intuition' which means he always subconsciously acts in a way that makes it so no parahuman could ever harm him. He can dodge lasers if a cape made them because he's basically a mind reader that always knows exactly what he needs to do to survive dealing with any and ever parahuman on the planet. If you have a shard, you can't hurt him.
>>
>>54417687
Okay, sure. Either way, stop talking about something that's not relevant. We don't have a jump for it, and any hypothetical jump is a long ways off. There are better boards to rant about your inadequacies in a JRPG.

I stopped Scion by convincing him that I could, in fact, revive his partner.

I'll probably never revive his partner nor bring him out of stasis.

Jack is not one of Contessa's blind spots. Those blind spots are specifically: Eidolon, The Entities, all Endbringers.

PTV works just fine on Jack Slash, Cauldron just doesn't ice him because he causes lots of trigger events and he's got capes like Siberian and Shatterbird with him who they consider valuable enough that they want them alive for the eventual Scion fight.
