So a group of Imperials find some odd world that had managed to escape their notice and land on it, with the intent to bring it into the fold of the greater Imperium. Unfortunately for them, it's the MH world, with all of it's hunters and utterly insane monsters. What happens?
Rip nids I guess.

Feral world. Either establish an Imperial guard regiment, or maybe a Space Marine chapter starts recruiting from it.

Most Hunters outpace the Space Marines in terms of sheer bullshit however, so I don't think that any augments they couldo offer would ever do anything for them. Neither would any weaponry or armor they would try to fit them with.
So what faction could they make the best gear out of?

The Space wolves would do well here, Fenris basically is a MH world.

Caliban was too. Well, before...

Chaos. They may not be Elder Dragons, but they are the closest equivalent that 40k has.

Fast forward a few millennia and there's a deathwatch squad confused and befuddled at their newest frontline recruit, who's carrying a sword the size of a marine made of bones and has scales and pelts draped all over his armor. It also makes the Artian set a lot more sinister, and probably Necron tech.

It's a Death World. The Imperials in question catalogue it for Space Marine or Imperial Guard recruitment and move on.
People making weaponry and armor from the claws, teeth, and hides of Death World monsters is hardly unique, according to the RPG. Xenos Hide armor is as good at protecting you as Carapace.
