Why do you think you rarely see elven melee fighters? Its not because there the greatest archers and don't need them; it's just that they have so many archers they cant convince anyone to go down range when they start shooting.

They go straight for the neck and either shake violently to break it or they hold tight and suffocate them.
They may also just go for multiple cranial blows or violent compression of the chest, again to suffocate them.

Tigers want dead prey as quickly as possible because every moment they fight and struggle with the prey is more energy wasted and chance of something going wrong.

Also, they drag prey away to an area they believe is safe, rarely would they start eating on the site of the kill because of the chances the fight just attracted the wrong kind of attention.

I have no clue what this thread is about or who the bard is but I made this for you!

Come here you all and hear my story
Of Elric the Bard and his scheme most gory...

Elric was a Bard of great renown, steady were his fingers and smooth was his voice!
So amazing was he that one day soon Elric found himself the entertainment of choice!
Among who you might ask? Why the elves of the wood!
Elric would play and sing, but unknown to them he was up to no good.

After a long festive day filled with delightful melodies and sounds
Elric was asked to play his fiddle before leaving the grounds
With a dance, a flourish he suddenly fell on his tush!
And "Unexpectedly" his bow fell into a bush.

An embarrassed grin on his face and with laughter about he rushed to the bush with great haste!
Unknown to them though was a plan most cunning, creating a chance that he would not waste!

Hands moving quick causing barely a rustle,
he pulled out an arrow with nary a tussle.
And using his fiddle with strings so taut,
he notched his arrow, chaos he would wrought.

With a spin and crouch he took his aim
At the elven maiden he would soon maim!
Fingers snapped open and the arrow did fly
And with swish and a sudden thunk the maiden did die!

With a leap and dash Elric did run
as the elves finished the end of their fun!
Their laughter died down and much to their dread
Their eyes settled on the maiden her chest stained red!

Elric was gone before they could give chase
how could a human disappear with such pace?
Elric the Bard had succeed with only dirt on his tush
And so now we know to never trust a Bard especially by a bush.
