I don't understand why they decided that Nic Cage should star in action movies instead of comedies. He's so good in comedies, he can switch between deadpan and cartoony at the drop of a hat, but he can't do anything in between.

And he did 'pay his dues' what with starring in a couple o' chick flicks (one of them with 80s-era Cher no less) and other 'contractual obligation' jobs.
