my life is empty and i want to fill it with warhammer 40k. I

8th edition is easy af to learn, ive recently come back into Warhammer after 10years and have been playing for about a month, the rules are super simple and its a lot of fun. Get a rulebook and/or watch so,e battle reports on youtube to get a feel for it in action.

All things considered, start with Orks. They're the Mono-Green decks of 40k, in many senses of the phrase.

avoid eldar and dark eldar (know known as AELDARI) they are really mechanic heavy and are very specialised, on a per unit basis, orks are a good start, (simple and fun) T'au are another good start (shooting everything is pretty straight forward) and of course if you REALLY have no clue there is always those idiots in blue with toilet seats as their symbol (space marines). Also perhaps avoid Astra millitarum and Adeptus mechanicus (unless you have lots of money for Astra and AD mech for the same reason as eldar)

It does, but really building an army isnt that complicated. The basics are you need a HQ unit to act as your leader and then you can fill out the army with really anything you want. Its easier to understand when you have the book infront of you.
Again im not an expert but i dont think there are any armies especially designed for expert gamers, the rules are quite simple so my suggestion is to just choose the army that looks coolest to you. The biggest problem with this hobby is that it takes a fuckload of time to get everything painted & ready so you want to be interested in making them, dont make it a slog. Id have a look at the start collecting/getting started boxes as they will have a lot of cool shit in them and will help you get a small force together. Also dont but online from GW, have a look around online first.

There are easier armies to play but its usually better to just build up the army you love, if you go with space marines because you want something easy to play and then realize you love necrons you are gonna spend a lot of time and money trying to shift over, save yourself the trouble and read up on lore and playstyle and pick the one you love the most.

This is somewhat article helpful, unless you are building an army for a tournament again the best thing to do is to look for units that appeal to you. Have you thought of what army youd like to have yet?
