I did Bad Moons because I liked the idea of fielding loads of Flash Gitz... Until Flash Gitzs became their own thing and aren't tied to any clan.... And the fact that Goff's get 3 special characters and thus are vastly superior to any other Ork clan. Same goes for Necrons, Sautekh are superior to every other despite me loving Trollzyn. Also, Ad Mech are only worthwhile if you play Mars because Cawl is the only named guy and he's awesome.

I'm trying to make a party Valkyrie to swoop in first turn and do fun things. Right now it has Straken and Nork, but I was thinking of these options.

- Straken + Nork + 2x Command squads with Plasma Guns
- Straken + Nork + Priest + Inquisitor with Plasma Pistol and Maul + 6 -Acolytes with Plasma Pistols and Mauls
- Straken + Nork + Priest + 1x Command Squad with Plasma Guns + Inquisitor with Plasma Pistol and Maul + 2 Acolytes with Plasma Pistols and Mauls

Inquisitor would know Smite and Terrify. I'm torn because the Command squads would do the most initial damage, but wouldn't do much in melee and might die to overwatch. The Inquisitor being there would potentially prevent overwatch and possibly more deaths during morale. Acolytes wouldn't do much in shooting or melee, but they'd keep the Inquisitor going for longer and would still have a chance to hurt things in melee and shooting.

I would expect it to start happening after they finish getting the generic Primaris releases out. For example the Blood Angels Codex will probably come with Primaris [BA special character] among some other things.

I know right, those guys sperg out to the stupidist shit. I remember playing a relaxed 3 way 500 pt game. 1 guy ran a knight titan and I ran a 5 harlequin character A-Team. It's a great way to make an army clearly good at a thing and it is what GW has been doing for years. Is it a problem though? Eh, I don't think so. See, there are a couple of points to remember.

1. Units that fly can already fall back and shoot and with no penalty to BS.

2. Most marines don't have to worry about Morale tests anyways and when they do, that +1 isn't going to help much. For example, you'd have to kill 7 marines on a 10 man squad for morale to even have a hope of doing anything. At that point, whether or not the squad dies to morale or not, that squad has been rendered irrelevant unless a special weapon is still alive. In which case you'd shoot it till it was dead.

Now personally I like this. It is fluffy, gives an ultramarine options in situations where he might not have any and the options aren't immediate I win buttons nor are they shit options either. I can dig it.

I'm going to guess that the leviathan will still outclass the Redemptor in terms of firepower in addition to it having an extra wound an extra toughness a better armor save AND the 4+ invuln

Assuming that the heavy hellblaster the redemptor gets follows the pattern of normal plasma cannons that means 1 more strength at least, so Str 8 and probably something like d6 hits

The gatling cannon is 12 shots, likely at something like str 6 top

The Leviathans base ranged weapon (storm cannon) is a 10 shot Str 7 AP-2 Damage 2

The Grav Bombard while having a shorter range is Str 9 AP-5 Damage 2, dealing a ton more damage to monsters/vehicles/titanics and more hits to larger mobs of enemies

The only thing it looks like the redemptor will have over the leviathan is the fact that its powerfist does D6 damage and can benefit from chapter tactics, leviathan however gets a more reliable straight 3 damage with its melee weapons along with some serious AP not to mention the built in meltagun

Regardless I love the look of the leviathan more and will continue to use them instead of the redemptor. Forgeworld still needs to FAQ the hunter killer missile rack back in, my leviathan has one on the model and I cant use it. And if I want something more ranged I got a deredeo coming in the mail to handle that job as well

The leviathan may be a smidge shorter than the Redemptor but its got the strength and durability needed to sweep out the lanklets skinny little legs
