Surprisingly tennis has a huge chauvinistic streak to it. More than any sport I've watched or read about. It's strange that this one has the most noticeable vein of it, even more than football or golf

Well you have the battles of the sexes with Bobby Riggs definitely being at least somewhat misogynistic (by his own admission) and other instances of men playing against women being exceptionally cruel to their opponents like playing in a dress or smoking a cigarette in between sets

It's just strange to me. I love tennis but why this sport of all the others to have the macho streak? I mean you would think football would be worse with its riots and hooligans but they seem to be more kind to their women counterparts

Depends on what direction you want to go. If you want it to be more about tennis gameplay, then you'd probably want to hack GURPS or something.

If you want it to be about the drama and spectacle of tennis, than something narrative like Fate would work.
