So, I've recently been introduced to the game that is Kingdom Death Monster, and... well, I really love the whole thematics of it, and I was curious: How well could it be adapted to a Tabletop system?
I would suspect one of the D&D games might work best (Ignoring GURPS) but i'm not entirely sure how I would sell it to players, because ideally they wouldn't know how KDM does its thing.

Depends on your powerlevel.
A survivor has basically no chance in the world at large. The shit you fight as a settlement is pretty low on the power tier.
Consider that when your Twilight Swordsman maxes out his sword, he qualifies to be an APPRENTICE of the hooded knight. Not an equal.
You'd want to play as things like Twilight Knights, White Seers, or Forsakers. Those guys can actually get in fights and not be immediately gibbed. Maybe say some Black Knights are still around, or Flower Disciples.

Buddy no. DnD is absolutely unfit to do KDM. If you're averse to gurps, then maybe runequest or something? Gurps/Hero would work really well imho

You could just play KD:M itself as a tabletop game. It's going to take about 25 sessions at an hour and a half apiece to get through it, so you might as well make it a weekly thing.
