/jc/, what are some good economic perks/purchases? By good I mean, for example, buying Pokeyen in Pokemon Trainer is bad because it only equals about $500 US worth, but things like the money exchange from Monopoly or Allowance from Teen Titans are good, because they give ongoing benefits that will help in future jumps.

What is the most stereotypically jumper thing to do?

Kung Fu Hustle has the Bystander discounted perk "Graft": $1000 to $50000 per day.
There's also the Bystander discounted item "Piles of Cash": Enough cash to cover the surface of a desk 6-8 inches deep. It gives it to you at the start of the jump, but it can be modified by further point expenditures.

Here's an idea.

You know all those fanfiction stories or quests where someone from a setting (usually one with low magic or somehow weaker) is the reincarnation of someone from another, or otherwise gains their abilities?

How would you manipulate souls to do that? This isn't for companions, but rather just to see what happens.
>>
>>54249094
Dress of Heavens from Fate IIRC can do that

>>
>>54249094
There's prolly a soul theft ability somewhere in these Jumps that would allow you to do this manually. You'd either have to knock someone up or craft the new body, but that's not impossible either.

I vaguely remember JJBA having a perk that has friends be reincarnated, but i dont think that brings powers along

EVERYTHING THAT YOU SAID IS TRUE THERES NO HOPE SON THEY NEVER LEARN
>>
>>54249125
This seems to be what I'm looking for, but I'd probably just learn how to do it from studying the dress. rather than dress in drag.

>>54249178
>craft the new body

Well, no. The idea is to take the soul, go to a new jump (honestly, it will probably be ASoIaF) and then time travel to the point where the target person was born, then put the soul in before they develop their own. At no point should it be known that I was involved. I just want to observe how that person lives and adapts to their abilities.

>that spoiler

uh... okay?
>>
>>54249258
>uh... okay?
It just the next line in the song of the picture title.
>>
>>54249285
Oh. Well, not exactly, or not as I've ever heard it. That's probably why I was confused.

"IF everything that you said is true, there's no hope they'LL ever learn".
>>
>>54248890
I think the yugioh jump gives that. It's imaged.
>>
>>54249335
Well shit

"If everything that you've said is true, then there's no hope that someday they will learn"

I didn't ever hear that as 'someday'
>>
>>54249415
Oh, you're right. It's been a while since I've listened to it, I guess.
>>
>>54249258
Anima Beyond Fantasy has the Book of Essence, which is all about this sort of thing. As long as you have some way of transporting it with you, Transmigrate Soul will let you shove it into a new body, with the interesting potential side effect of the previous soul still being there, just asleep.

Tapping into Divine Magic can get you Lord of Souls, which specifically notes that it allows for "Nephilim Birth", which is when the soul of a supernatural creature is reborn in a human, resulting in the human having access to a lesser version of the original's abilities, though they lose their memories due to it.
>>
>>54249378
I do know where to get odd colors, it’s the “No one in worm/ Nine to five/ Kamen Rider notices I have green hair” effect I’m looking for.

>>

>>
>>54247662
I forgot to post a reply for the second bit last thread. I've thought about Dropping In as an origin other than Drop-In, or maybe altering an origin for better story uses. Like, say, keeping the same age as the end of the last jump as a Fallen Human in Undertale with a Human Companion, resulting in a young child falling into the underground being followed shortly after by her grandfather a few hours later. Without taking Human Companion I probably wouldn't be able to justify what is effectively a free age change.

So I am watching sword art online before jumping and I have to ask, how in the hell is this game supposed to be the number one game? It is literally more shit tier than anything I have ever seen.

>>
>>54250074
Basically because it's the first. That's literally it. Sword Art Online is the number one game because it was the only one in the race.

And even though it limped across the finish line on one leg with glitches slowly devouring the other one, it's still number one.

It's the first mental interface VR game. That said, it's been commented on by critics that even if it weren't for Kayaba turning it into a twisted death game, the poor sales would tank the concept and mean that it would be very unlikely for any better VR games to be made. This is somewhat supported by how terrible the other two VR games in the anime, Alfheim Online and Gun Gale Online, are. I know there's another game in the light novels that's supposed to be better and that's taken up the majority of the focus for the past seven books or something like that, but not many people in the West have read the SAO novels so I don't have any details about it. I'm certainly not going to go read them.

A lot of medical companies deal solely in tech, such as various scanning devices(MRI, UltraSound, etc.), monitors(heart monitor, eeg, etc.), etc. hence med tech. Which would be a tech company. Admittedly one specializing in medical tech. Hence being a medical company.

Create plans to murder people in a grandiose show of power for doing things you don't like. Import your Light of Terra repeatedly to make it supersize as a metaphor for your penis. Fuck ALL the women to add them as a notch in your belt. Gain ultimate unlimited power, and then do it again and again, because there is no finish line and you will never be satisfied.

Yell at people for implying you can't or shouldn't do these things.

>>54249553
Oregairu, "Committee Management" grants you an amazing ability to organize events even if they're dropped on you at the last minute. You're the super event organizer.

>>54248846
K-ON! has "Upper, Upper Class Lady", which effectively lets you be born into or come into contact with a charitable rich family that will take you in at the start of each new jump afterwards, according to Val. That's what I took. It is very expensive, though.
I kindof used that jump as a gimme/throwaway for that one purpose, y'know, like, "I'll take this and then I guess that's all I really want from this jump."

"Batman's Real Superpower" also gives a bunch of money, which you can spend variable amounts of CP on to alter the rules or amount it gives you per jump. It is potentially extremely powerful, though, in terms of money grabbing. Really, better than "Upper, Upper Class", since the money is all yours, but I prefer the former for purposes of comfy.

Those would technically just be tech companies. Or manufacturing, depending on what they're actually doing. Not to mention they don't usually develop the software themselves, they get other companies to do it.
>>
>>54250460
Nope. Closest we got is Sitcom Jump, but you can make one if you like.

>>54250471
It's a sitcom from the 80s. Stars Al Bundy, and the woman who did the voice of Leela from Futurama as his wife. In the US they currently show reruns of it every morning on TBS.

It is mildly amusing in a hokey by the numbers sitcom kind of way.
>>

Thread closed before I could reply. Yes they are companions. They're sapient, they have mental capacity of a small child, they can talk via the power ring. It translates barks, bun-bun noises, meows, and etc into speech.

They're like Pokemon but dumber. Also yes, Ch'p is an alien squirrel. I couldn't figure out a Green Lantern animal, so Ch'p was already a thing. I guess I could change it to something else if someone gives me an animal.

Dex-Starr could also be replaced with a generic, "Rage Cat". Deer Lantern?

Do it. Give it a fanfic toggle. Don't ban crossovers. I want to get to a specific Buffyverse from there. Oz decides to start a church of Al after a mild Zombie apocalypse where Al helped Xander, Dawn, Faith, Ted, Faith's original watcher, and a Robot Xander save the day from an upgraded Kakistos by turning a strip club into holy ground and dousing khaki toast with holy beer.

It's supposed to be a take on Little Red Riding Hood, with the child being the "Big Bad Wolf". I don't remember the whole story behind it. Something about the "Big Bad Wolf" being exiled from the town just because he was a wolf, but Red Riding Hood showed him kindness on her trips to Grandmother's house. In the end the Wolf does grow up to be big and powerful, but he ends up saving the village from a group of bandits that come to sack the town because of the kindness Red showed him.

Something like that.

Depends on which sort of tsundere you're referring to. The classic tsundere archetype is a person who is typically emotionally defensive and distant, but once that gap is closed and they become friends/romantic partners with someone they're very affectionate to them. Then there's the more modern take, where the tsundere is constantly switching between affectionate and defensive in every single one of their relationships, not a difficulty to overcome but one that remains forever. That one's awful, I don't know why people like that one.

You materialize into a formless void, pokeball still clutched tightly. Jump-chan appears before you and says, "Nicely done, nicely done, anon! You show some real promise. Promise to be entertaining, at least. *chuckle* Well, how are you doing? Do you want a break before I send you to your next destination? ...No? Well, suit yourself."

A glowing circle of moving images appears before you. Each seems to be a hazy window peering into another world. Some of them look pretty pleasant! Some of them...not so much.

"Alright then, I'll send you packing! Let's find out where you're headed next. Oh, you thought you would get to choose? HA!" He stops for a good 15-20 seconds to laugh. "That's not how this works, anon. You are here for my amusement. Try to keep up."

"I'm setting you to a video game setting this time. Try not to die in the first year."

The circle begins to spin, accelerating until the images blend into each other and become a blur of light.

"Reach out and choose one, anon."

That's cool, but I think I'd lean more towards Batman's Real Superpower since my purposes are largely to have a lot of money to throw around, either for company startups or buying artifacts and/or tech or similar. Personal money opens a lot of doors that rich friends do not.

Because demons vary quite a bit in form and function, you can probably choose what it looks like, I would imagine. Though it probably can't be anything too stupid powerful, I don't think anyone would mind too much if you changed some aesthetics around.

Although, Demon Lords are generally all lumped into the same category in the manga, even if they look different, so I imagine any insistence that you are this or that race would be seen as just semantics among BBS members.

You don't know anything about Guerdos, eh? They go out and find male humans and Hylians and, in OOT kidnap, and in BOTW convince, to marry them and produce children. So they have husbands, it's just a matter of keeping them in their house instead of in a man town.
>>
>>54251951
In BOTW don't most Guerdo live outside of town with their family?
>>
>>54249258
Rather than turning someone into a reincarnation of someone they weren't originally so they develop that person's powers I'd imagine you could get the same effect in a (slightly) less morally dubious way by simply using some form of power sharing/power bestowal to give them the powers, and some form of psionics to plant the person's memories into their subconscious with a time release and tie the powers to it. No soul tampering required.

This method has the benefits of being more easily attainable than something requiring time travel, and working with non-soul based powers and abilities.

I have a question about psychic stuff /jc/. Since all psychic powers run off the same mental energy, does that mean that boosts to one psychic ability, say telepathy, would effectively boost your other psychic powers like, say, telekinesis? Yes, no, up to a certain point but not past it(implying your proficiency is not just a product of raw power, but talent and skill as well)?
>>
>>54251998
Sort of. There are Gerudo all over the map, and there are some settlements that have a large Gerudo populace. But married Gerudo in Gerudo Town itself have to maintain two homes: One outside town where they live with their husbands, and one inside town where they manage their businesses. It's mentioned to be pretty stressful on them, you'd think they'd just let the men into town already. They let Goron men into town, why do the rock dudes get to come in but not the flesh dudes?
>>
>>54251951
Arent they polygamous as well?
>>
>>54252127
Because Gerudo don't know if Gorons have females and they can't tell the difference between them if they even exist.

But yes, the division is an old cultural remnant that they really need to get together and overthrow, shouting down any retarded old hag who insists they continue it. I wouldn't even care too much if they only let married men into the town, just as long as there's a change.

>>54252145
Guerdo women with human men are not polygamous. Guerdo women with the one Guerdo man are polygamous, though, because they don't have any other choice if they want to be married to him.
>>
>>54252089
I'd interpret them as being separate. They might run off the same mental energy but they're processing it differently. Just because you've bulked up the part of your brain/psychic energy imprint to process energy one way doesn't mean it can process it in others.
>>
>>54252089
I'd say varies. Some perks are clearly for one type of psychic powers while others are more general.

That is very much my own personal interpretation.
>>
>>54252170
>Guerdo women with the one Guerdo man are polygamous, though, because they don't have any other choice if they want to be married to him.
And there doesn't even appear to be a Gerudo male in this time period. It's debatable if there even could be, with Ganondorf's curse being externalized as Calamity Ganon instead of embedding itself in the Gerudo bloodline.

That's only after Ganon does his thing. Before that they were bound by Hylian law to get the consent of the men.
>>
>>54252237
The one male thing was never caused by Ganondorf, it was a thing that existed before him. That said, we don't know if Ganondorf continuing to live somehow prevented another male from being born.
>>
>>54252237
What? The one-male Gerudo thing is unrelated to any kind of Ganondorf curse. Ganon just happened to be one of those males. I don't remember him putting ANY kind of curse on the Gerudos.
>>
>>54252297
>Before that they were bound by Hylian law to get the consent of the men.
Anon, the Gerudo were never part of Hyrule at the OOT point in the timeline. All the other races had signed treaties to that effect after the war, but not the Gerudo. Ganondorf's excuse for going to the castle town was to negotiate that sort of thing, either to become part of Hyrule or else get a peace treaty with them so they could go about their business. Ganondorf's actions pretty much killed any chance of them being trusted as part of the kingdom for generations.

By the time of BOTW though it seems they had joined Hyrule, though, and remained in the general cultural sphere even after it was destroyed.
>>
>>54252207
>>54252235
Ok, this is about what I figured but explained more clearly than any way I was able to think of.

Basically it's like Chi/Ki/Chakra/etc in the body. If something says it boosts the power it boosts your whole body evenly, but if something says it boosts a chi technique to increase your ability to lift heavy objects it doesn't really make you punch harder or faster, take hits better or throw bigger Ki Blasts.
>>
>>54252330
>Anon, the Gerudo were never part of Hyrule at the OOT point in the timeline
You are correct. But they had to go into Hyrule to get men, and were bound by Hylian laws when they did so. This is commented upon by random NPCs when you're Kid-Link.

Just because you're British doesn't mean you aren't bound by Japanese laws if you go to Japan.

Jump 1: Final Fantasy 1

I was dreaming. I was still falling through the inky blackness of nothingness, but somewhere along the way I had fallen out of reality and into a dream. I knew it in the way you knew certain impossible things as facts as common as gravity in the unwaking world. Like the dream I experienced the week before where I was absolutely certain that spider tea was a perfectly acceptable drink.

“From distant stars and oceans apart, you have heard our call.” The voice was as withered and old as the yellowed pages of an ancient tome. It drifted to me from the darkness. “This land is in terrible peril, wanderer of worlds.” Technically I wasn’t, at least not yet. I had to actually leave the void and set foot on another world first. The voice continued as if I hadn’t spoken. But perhaps I hadn’t.

I think Hylia has been around long enough, and for enough Cycles, to realize that Link is a chick-magnet. And sometimes he doesn't end up with her reincarnation.

Bastion (Jump #2):
I come into this without any previous combat training, but with plenty of experience with parkour and electronics under my belt. I can also disappear into a crowd if I'm being hunted down. Not that that there's anywhere to hide here. And I picked up some basic telekinesis and telepathy from Gardevoir.

>Caelondian (-100/900). I served as a low level engineer in Caelondia's research corps. Learned enough to be comfortable with Caelondian tech, and was just beginning to tickle the edges of Calamitytech when the Calamity struck.
Perks:
>Just Foolin' (-200/700) - never have to worry about falling to my death while doing crazy parkour again
> Build That Wall (free)
> Skyways (-100/600)
> Calamitytech (-300/300)

Items:
>Phonograph (Fuck yes Bastion OST! This plays 24/7 in the warehouse now. The sorting robots clank and whir with the rhythm, and occasionally you can see the pokeballs in the corner wobble with the bass.)
>Caelondian City Crest (free)
>Burstone Crate (-50/250)
>Core (-300/-50)
>Sniper's Crossbow (-100/-150), Bullhead Shield (-50/-200) - no real combat experience or skills yet, but I at least know how to handle weapons from my Caelondian background. I need something I can use to dispatch wildlife from a distance right off the bat. My mobility should keep me out of bad situations most of the time, and the shield will help in moments when I get cornered.

Drawbacks:
> He Didn't Make It (+200/0). Gardevoir spends all of her energy keeping me grounded at night. I still dread sleep, but I usually get enough rest to function well when I'm awake. This means Gardevoir is otherwise useless, other than a companion to stave off isolation.

Story in progress. I'm still pretty new at this.
>>
>>54252597
Sure, but I can only imagine it pisses her off. The entire reason there is a reincarnation cycle is because she couldn't handle her boy toy dying and wanted to end up with him forever and ever, so bam, she's stuck as a reincarnating mortal and so is Link. So it follows that not getting her way is going to bother her, even if she has to realize that occasionally it's going to happen, since she has no direct control over what Zelda and Link are going to do or where they'll be born in Hyrule, meaning that sometimes, like in TP, they'll have nothing to do with each other and no attachment.
>>
>>54252597
In TP Link had known Zelda for like 10 minutes total before end the game. Link was more into Midna, especially at the end.
>>
>>54252409
which books, exactly? I need to know so I can share this with my friends and we can all have a laugh
>>
>>54252546
There's no guarantee that any given Zelda or Link are a reincarnation. Such as Twilight Princess Link learns his special moves from Ocarina of Time Link, because that Link stuck around as a ghost due to the regret that his time fuckery prevented anyone from knowing what he went through to stop ganon. Similarly Breath of the Wild Zelda was only stated to use holy power passed down their family, with her mother having had the very same power, so it's not that she was using reincarnated god power.
>>
>>54252642
And it's very likely that OoT Link ended up with Malon.
>>
>>54252684
It's uncertain if Zelda is always a reincarnation, especially since the Curse was laid down on her bloodline. But Link IS always a reincarnation. But he can commune with his past self. Likely due to time shenanigans.
>>
>>54252684
Nah senpai, they're all reincarnations excepting possibly WW Link. We don't know the mechanics of ghosts well enough to say what that does.
>>
>>54252684
>>54252705
going by AOL, the Zelda name is a tradition inspired by the sleeping princess where the oldest daughter of the royal family is always named Zelda. However, that Zelda is from the future and in an alternate timeline relative to most, so who knows how it applies.

However, we DO know that Zelda incarnations can be hereditary. Tetra's mom was basically a Zelda too. Those powers are Hylia's powers, it's just that they can be 'hereditary' because of how the reincarnation works,.

No, Ganon existed before the Gerudo ever did. He's a living curse, not a person. Urbosa even says that Ganondorf was just Calamity Ganon adopting Gerudo form. Not that Calamity Ganon cursed Gerudo males to be its agent, that they were literally the same being. They're all the same being. And since Ganondorf is the only male Gerudo we've ever seen (quite conspicuous in Breath of the Wild, given that a century after Calamity Ganon appeared there should be a new one), I don't buy the story that there's a male Gerudo born every century. His "surrogate parents" were a pair of evil witches, they could have just summoned him.

It'd be interesting to list all the times where Hylia's plan actually worked and she ended up married to her boy toy. I think she got him in LOZ and in AOL (hell that's the same Link and two different Zeldas, so maybe she ended up sharing him with another incarnation of hers. Weird.), LTTP is probable since it's the same one in LA and OOT/OOS, and they kiss in the later and the former implies interest on Link's part through Marin. OOT/MM is a probable no, since TP Link is his descendent and he's a farm boy, not a prince. WW/PH Link is a definite yes, all the sequel games imply strongly that he and Tetra founded New Hyrule's royal family. ST is probable, that Zelda is the only girl in that game, spends a lot of time with Link, and holds his hand. Minish Cap is an unknown, Zelda is the only major girl but she and Link don't spend much time together. TP is a definite no, that Link only has eyes for Midna. SS is a yes since that game is all about shipping the two. Finally, BoTW seems probable, the competition is dead and a shipping attempt is made.

So let's count it. Link ends up with Zelda in 6 games, and he ends up with someone else in 2. 1 is uncertain. So she has a good track record.

Ganon never died anon. The same guy, without dying, from OoT is the Calamity Ganon from Breath of the Wild. So a century between his appearance and "now" doesn't matter. Because it's not like he was born 100 years ago.

As for the rest of it, that honestly sounds like bullshit to me. I'm gonna need a source on Urbosa claiming that. Also >>54252937

That's Demise. The Demon's name is Demise. The whole 'Calamity Ganon' name for the disembodied form of Demise's curse is just a product of the people of Hyrule being ignorant of who Demise was, while having dealt with a persistent Ganon as the curse for cycles and cycles. The curse was never named 'Ganon' nor was it started by a Ganon.
>>
>>54252954
This is correct. Demise's curse found multiple hosts before it found a permanent home in Gannondorf. I'm pretty sure that there are games set between SS and OoT with difference hosts as the main bad guy, since Ganon wasn't born yet.
>>
>>54252942
>The same guy, without dying, from OoT is the Calamity Ganon from Breath of the Wild
No he's not. Ganon is dead, he finally let himself perish. The curse is disembodied. That's the entire point.
>>
>>54252969
Vaati is another probable curse-bearer.

From post WW games, Bellum and Malice, who are demons (and honestly, there's a good chance they worked with/for Demise way back in Hylia's era) are also incarnations of the curse, or are being used by it, even once WW Ganondorf has surrendered and allowed himself to die.
>>
>>54252970
Fair enough. I was making an assumption about BotW specifically, due to the fact my LPer just stopped fucking updating after doing 3 of the four Divine Beast quests, and how Ganon has in every previous game been the exact same guy.

My point is that a Gerudo male is supposedly born every century. We've seen a century go past, through Breath of the Wild, without one.

>>54252954
No, Demise is dead. Ganon is his creation. And yeah, Ganon didn't start the curse, because Ganon IS the curse. Whatever shape it takes, whatever name it uses, it's all the same being.

>>54252969

>>54252893
>His "surrogate parents" were a pair of evil witches, they could have just summoned him.
Play OOT/OOS. Twinrova has to perform a long and complex ritual involving Link's blood to attempt to bring Ganon back to life, and while Twinrova isn't present as far as we know, this same method is stated as necessary in AoL too.
>>
>>54253024
Demise cursed, specifically, Zelda's bloodline and Link's Reincarnations with his malice. It follows that if a big evil monster shows up while there are a Link and a Zelda that it is Demise's curse.

>Ganon is his creation.
Oh sure anon, that's why Ganondorf didn't show up until dozens of fucking cycles after Demise's curse. You goddamned moron.
>>
>>54253024
Anon's point is that 100 years after Calamity Ganon is meaningless, because Calamity 'Ganon' is just a bodiless curse attacking Hyrule, not a Gerudo male. We have no idea when the last Gerudo male was born, so it might not be century since.

Yeah, back to life, not summoned in the first place. It's like Sauron. He needs the Ring to manifest physically after he's been killed, but before then he could just show up as Annatar.

>>54253069
You're not listening. I'm saying that Ganondorf was just a form that Ganon took. Hell, even the name "Ganon" is just a result of taking that form that got stuck with him permanently. Before it decided to give being a Gerudo a try, I'm sure it was doing other evil stuff. "The first cycle" is a meaningless distinction, that's just the first Zelda story we know of. There was a time period in between Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time, we don't know what he was doing then.

>>54253087
Okay, I think I see what you're saying now. I suppose it's possible that a male Gerudo could have died right before the game starts and a new one just not have been born yet. I don't think it's likely, but possible.
>>
>>54253024
>>54253133
I think we're having a fundamental difference in how we view the curse as working.

It seems to me that you see the curse as having a mind of its' own, crafting hosts to serve its' will.

I on the other hand view the curse as a less intelligent thing. It finds hosts(people who already exist) with....potential, and directs them towards Link and Zelda.

From my point of view these people already exist, they might even already be evil, but the curse points them to target Link/Zelda/The Triforce

From yours it sounds like the curse actively crafts hosts, from the womb even.

Where Hyrule Historia specifically places at least the Minish Cap game. You know, with Vaati.
>>
>>54253133
>The first cycle" is a meaningless distinction
Not really? The First Cycle can be argued to be one of two things. When Demise first attacked and the first "link" died before he could ever first him. Or SS, when Hylia reincarnated that Link who failed.
>>
>>54253156
I can sort of see why you'd think that, if you were going just with the previous games. But Breath of the Wild depicts the curse as being something both separate from Ganondorf Dragmire, and capable of decision making. It's an entity in its own right, that can manifest as a giant weird cyborg and send its demon-robots out to subvert the Divine Beasts. There's nothing human there, aside from a beard on its first form, it's just a living evil force.
>>
>>54253216
Before he could ever face him*

>>54253222
It's also been over 10,000 years since the curse was first laid down, and it was in Gannondorf for a LONG time. Ages even, he could have, for lack of a better term, 'imprinted' on it.
>>
>>54253200
You know, that's a good point. I concede that one, I forgot that Vaati shows up before the curse ever becomes/afflicts (whatever you interpret it as) Ganondorf, so he could have been influenced back when it was using a different tactic. Still no evidence it was the curse and not just Vaati being a dick, but that one is possible.

No hard evidence, but the implications of the wording of the curse does point in that direction.

While that's true, what BOTW shows us of the curse doesn't imply that Ganondorf was a will-less body for it, even if it has its own mind. Rather, it implies a degree of mind control/influence over its hosts.

A rule of thumb I follow is that Superman is the most powerful hero on whatever Earth he is on
But if I had to rank the Supermen we've seen in jumps it would go
>Superman: TAS < Young Justice < DC Comics
If the DC Mythic jump that was talked about ever gets made then the Superman there gets top billing as he becomes a fundamental aspect of the DC Multiverse via being a part of the Trinity

It is Batman turned into a Godlike Cosmic Being
The Trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman possess certain overarching mythic connotations in the DC universe
In the story line that pic comes from they gain the full power of that cosmic significance and become gods for a few issues
For those of you familiar with Elder Scrolls lore they essentially Mantled themselves

The proposed DC Mythic jump from what I can remember was supposed to address the Trinity, New Gods, Crises, and Multiversal cosmology of DC. Just like how DC Occult focuses on the Vertigo based characters like Constantine, The Endless, and the various Avatars
>>
>>54254267

No
This pic>>54253599 comes from the comic Trinity that came out in 2008 and expands upon the greater cosmic/mythological symbolism and significance of the Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman trinity

Superman also possesses great cosmic significance on his own due to the fact that there is a Superman or Superman analogue in all 52 realities of the DC Multiverse and the Superman Thought Robot which is larger and older than the multiverse itself and can perceive the audience

It is all very confusing and you should ask /co/ if you want to know more
>>

As for deciding I worked out the basic route I took on my journey and decided what I would have picked up from where. Actually Vampires were really fearsome back in Arena. They were immune to anything up to elven weapons, and did regenerate lost health points. They also couldn't be killed by weapon attacks, only subdued. You'd need magic to properly put them down.

It's been ages since I've played Arena, so I might be wrong, but I think that Daggerfall was the first one to allow players to become vampires... I had always known I would come back here. Last time I was here a very evil man had forced me to kill one of my wives with my own hand to save everyone else. Though She never held it against me I could never forget that or forgive it. I would Stop Dr. Moreau once and for all.

It wasn’t hard to find him, in fact it was far to easy to find his base hidden in the moon of an inhabited planet. I knew it was a trap so I called in a bunch of favors. I also made sure to get the GXP’s attention so I was being chased by them with a small army.

Some of my companions and friends were worried that I was a little obsessed with him after what had happened. Maybe they were right but this was something I couldn’t leave alone.

He knew my capabilities but I made sure it didn’t matter because he suddenly had a lot more to deal with.

I even managed to convince the GXP that were chasing me to work with us by offering to turn myself in after we took down Moreau.

This let do an epic battle. I had made several countermeasures against where I knew my companions and myself were weak so it turned in to a massive battle of wits. I came out on top and almost had him but the core of his reactor was ruptured in the battle and was going to destroy the moon and the planet. I could either catch him or try and save the planet.

(to be continued)
>>
>>54255421
Thankfully I was immune to most kinds of radiation so I only nearly sacrificed my life to prevent the moon from blowing.

Little did I know that my actions had drawn a certain devil princess of Jurai’s interest and when Moreau had tried to escape he had ran right in to her. It didn’t end well for him.

My little stunt of saving the planet instantly made me a hero, my crimes were forgiven and I become something of a celebrity… which somehow led to a lot of attempted political marriages (Damn it Seto)… Thankfully my wives are scary as hell when they want to be (Arcueid in particular…especially in her Red Form)

Somehow my actions also drew the Choushin’s attention… So it turns out the nameless sword can break a light hawk wing but it’s a very bad idea… Thankfully I had the extra life from Enter the Gungeon to learn never to try that again. On a related note I am no longer allowed to bring that sword in to that universe.

>>54256556
Everything is bait lately. And I'm kind of bored.
>>
>>54256557
You know the wierdest criticism I've ever heard about his jumps is: That they are too long. That's it. It's like complaining that the jumps are too good.
The only people with an actual issue with long jumps are people who probably wouldn't be literate enough or have time enough to be interested in jumpchain to begin with.
>Jealousy
Maybe. Or maybe he's an easy target and they know that people will react to baseless accusations being levelled against him, hence starting arguments and filling the thread with shit. All according to shitposters keikaku.

>>54256597
Case in point with this shitheel. Notice how he constantly tries to imply as though he's talking for more people than just himself.

>>54256551
>Of course she's a fatty.
That pic is legit going to give me nightmares.
>>
>>54256532
Its just his jumps are so long. Most of it is behind word walls & scenarios that drag the page count on.

They're not too bad, just very wordy. If he could describe how to make PB&J sandwhich he would make sure you know the texture of the peanut butter, the flavor & texture of the jelly, and where the bread's wheat comes from.
>>
>>54256623
Of course he started it. He was the one that harassed jumpmakers until they gave up. Why do you think he's considered a shitposter here?
>>
>>54256637
You don't have to take the scenarios, and for his newer jumps he's been writing in plain text what his perks do.
>>
>>54256624
Yeah, but they're not going to stop someone like Jack Slash or the Joker from immediately going on another killing spree when you're not looking. Only redemption/mind-rape perks can do that. Perks that prevent lethal damage are only relevant for short-term solutions.
>>
Aside from NGNL and that one perk, how do I grant my alt-forms to others?
>>
>>54256625
If your biting bait knowingly, then go forth and enjoy yourself, buddy.
Just so long as you know what you're getting into.

>>54256637
I take it you don't read much. For pleasure that is. Novels, hardbacks?
You sound like one of those people who like their entertainment spoonfed to them. Not to come across as insulting; if there is more neutral way of putting it it doesn't come to mind. Sorry.
>>
>>54256637
I mean you're not wrong.

But that PB&J recipe sounds ace as fuck to me.
>>
>>54256637
How is wordiness not bad? If it was any other jumpmaker we would have a far better jump that people wouldn't have to waste time trying to decipher through useless bloat text. The length is enough to justify removing the jumps from the drive.
>>
>>54256468
"Redemption" perks certainly aren't always moral, either. Some less than others. You could still do an arc about when and when not to kill.
>>
>>54256669
Or, OR, Jumper's prescence can inject actual fucking logic into some worlds and you could do things like make it so when they go to jail they actually fucking go to jail instead of being sent to minimum security locations and getting lucky breaks.
>>
>>54256669
All the blanket non-lethality perks that I know of are pretty much on a toggle. I don't see how that'd be a problem for him. Besides, shounen-style redemption is only enhanced if none of his attacks can actually kill their target.

I actually like the Bayformers movies continuity.

Because Michael Bay has somehow unintentionally created a series where Megatron is a brutal but well-intentioned warlord determined to save Cybertron at any cost, and Optimus is a psychopathic uncle Tom who saved Unicron's life recently.

It's like the real world's movie version of Bloody Stupid Johnson's architecture. It's so dumb it turns into something unique.

For DRAMA, you could chosoe to define 'redemption' perks as basically mindrape, or close enough that you are really uncomfortable using them, making space for grey areas where they could be used but the situation isn't quite dire enough to warrant forcing identity death on someone.
I don't subscribe to that interpretation myself, but if it makes for a good chain you could adopt it.

It's not about page count, it's about content. Not useless bloat filled content like his so called scenarios, actual content like perks. I don't care if the jumpmaker adds in a sentence for fluff, but adding in paragraphs is stupid and only gives people headaches. Those so called scenarios are prime offenders, they take dozens of pages to do what other jumpmakers can do in a paragraph.
>>
>>54256804
>Muh bloat

I still remember when you tried this strategy and suggested all perks be one sentence and fliuffless.
>>
>>54256729
...of all people here, I expected you to be one of those who'd know what the Thought Robot is.

Long story short, the Thought Robot is a giant mech powered by two opposite-yet-equal Supermen psychically projecting into it, with the ability to sense the narrative of its story and loosely perceive the presence of the readers. Its most notable ability is that it embodies the archetype of a superhero: even though it may struggle, it will always defeat the villain and save the day at the end of the story, because that's what the hero does.

Incidentally, people really like arguing about whether it could defeat stuff like Demonbane, since it's pretty much the western equivalent. Both in terms of power and being heroic as fuck.

Question, how does canon time travel interact with time spent in jumps? To explain, take Teen Titans, for example. One of the episodes focused on Starfire getting sent to the future, where everything sucked and the Teen Titans disbanded. Ultimately, she comes back, everything is fixed, and the show goes on. But how would that work with Jumpers involved? Would a Jumper go through the alternate future, then come back once the timeline was fixed? Would they live through it, then remember living through the normal timeline once everything is fixed? Would they just skip such an event entirely? I'm really confused how to handle something like this.

You kinda can. Comic Book canon rules change all the time under different writers (at least in the case of Marvel and DC). You are a different writer, and if you decide that fate isn't going to perpetually allow someone to get away with things, go free and do what they want with the legal system refusing to stop them or hold them and the heroes refusing to kill them, that's a thing you can do. Ignoring meta shit, Jumpers don't always have to deal with things personally and directly, they can just as easily make reforms in the system from the inside to better enforce the law and the law's decisions.
>>

The Jumper would leave after ten years either way for one unless this is the place you decided to stay, so Jumper likely wouldn't show up in that future episode. Second of all, when thinking on things like this, just keep with whatever Present Jumper is up too. Since Starfire changed the future, it never happens to the Jumper as they exist anyways.

Personally I don't mind the length, though I do think that taking a page from print journalism could help: Put the "important" parts first (for jumps this would be to explain what it does in clear language) and then you can follow with the fluff.

Thus those who want to can read the fluff, while those who don't can skip it.
>>
>>54257346
the reason it's evil is because someone will deal with it for most of their life, usually.

The writers would likely be unable to describe Ultimate Evil in a form that didn't severely interrupt the comic, if at all, so I imagine they just decided to go for brief witticism even if it raises questions.

If you must have an answer, just roll with it as being the dehumanization of another by one's self more so than the actual act fueled by such beliefs or something.

My problem with using crime as the definition of "evil" is that it equates "obeying the law" as good and "breaking the law" as evil, without little mitigating factors like "what the law is."

Also, it's fascinating how similar the "different" shitposters come across. Same person, clone, or do they have a class on "how to shitpost like an intern?"

It's starting to spread to the Alliance as a trend, but over there it's more like there are long periods of political stagnancy followed by short periods of regicide. Varian died doing nothing wrong in battle, Jaina has become Stormfront for justified reasons and at this point Malfurion is more plot device than character.

Quoting yourself and using yourself as a source is generally seen as bad form. Both because there is no proof that what you're saying is actually true, unless the original has links to the ACTUAL source and even then you should have just linked there in the followup. And also because it's seen as self-advertisement, trying to drum up more attention/views/money/etc.

Ysera is the Dragon Aspect of the Green Flight, she was mostly spending her time in the Emerald Dream. She was basically the Druidic Dragon.

Well in Legion they decided that she had to die. So the players killed her after she became corrupted by the Emerald Nightmare. It was pretty sad because in the end her soul was whisked away to the moon. Not to mention the music was point on.

They're pretty good young adult fantasy books. I read them when I was a kid and loved them. Lots of neat ideas, even if the plot is a bit too reliant on characters having inherited super-special magic for my current tastes. But still plenty of cool fantasy fodder, the author fleshes the world out with some nice details. Like the idea that, since the undead can't cross running water, a lot of towns are built on rivers so they can divert the flow around them as a barrier. That idea blew my mind back then, it was such an obvious but unexpected measure to take.

The need for more human/elven princesses meant I had to trim the list somewhere. It was a hard choice to pair the list down to just 30 while balancing the wants and desires of others. In the end, it came down to the fact that I could not come up with an interesting dungeon idea for Goblin Princess that would not be based too firmly around World of Warcraft goblins. So, sadly, Goblin Princess was cut.

>>54258328
That is an excellent question and I'll have to make a note about that combination. I hadn't considered what that Drawback would do to Rivals.

You can choose any Rivals you want, but you only gain CP for those that are also interested in the Princesses you are specifically attempting to rescue. Which is why I included the list at the end to prevent confusion. So with "Your Princess is in another Castle" in the mix, I imagine your Rivals would be just as confused as you are when you reach the top and the right Princess isn't there.

The easiest solution would be to just have all Rivals run all Towers with that Drawback in place. They just wouldn't rescue the Princess if they got to the top and it wasn't the right one.

Since you're custom making the form I don't see why you couldn't make some sort of incomplete Omnimon variant with just the sword arm. As for the other question I can't really say since there's no real dedicated DNA Digivolution ability in the Jump, but I assume other Omnimon variants could be made with Greymon and Garurumon equivalents if you pick up an ability like that elsewhere.
>>
>>54258849
Well, you can prevent someone from unsealing it from you with The Power Is Jumper's from Marvel Magic. Very useful perk for jumpers who want to make permanent enhancements to themselves. Alternatively, it may be possible to just kill the thing and absorb it directly with Greed from God of High School, though in that case you'll still want to get The Power Is Jumper's to prevent someone from removing Greed from you, it is technically a symbiote and not your own power.

Anyways, if you want to seal it the "right way" you're going to want to pick up Fuinjutsu Prodigy and the Rinnegan. Very costly. You likely can get around this by stealing the Rinnegan for yourself, grab Nagato's body before Obito can and you can do that fairly easily. Cell grafts from Hashirama will also be helpful. The seal to control the creature is on the tablet underneath the Uchiha's shrine, but given that we know Zetsu modified its contents the seal might not be reliable. It let Zetsu hijack Madara to reconstruct Kaguya's body, after all. Give it a look over, make what modifications seem sensible.

Sealing it through other methods can be done a lot of ways, in theory. Going back to God of High School, Original Way should let you bargain with it to gain its power, after using Polymorphization to make it human enough to bargain with (and susceptible to all your charisma perks). Then you could store it inside you using Perfect Vessel from Fate/Zero. But that's just one way, I'm sure there are others.

The Juubi won't be trying to harm you, because you've won it over with charisma perks, so you should probably be fine just like how Naruto could draw on Kurama safely after they bonded and became friends. >>54259139
Fall of Cybertron was pretty good.
>>
>>54259170
Maybe they just recycled the design. Not to mention Soundwave looks more like his G1 counterpart as opposed to his Bayformer counterpart. Many of the other characters also look more akin to their G1 counterpart as well.

Though I could be wrong.
>>
>>54259175
The Juubi doesn't have sapience like with the normal tailed beasts, it's mostly just a monster, you can't really talk things out with it.
>>
>>54259170
That's because the game is supposed to be taking place in different universes, if I remember right. At the end, G1 Optimus shows up.
>>
>>54259065
>I... can't. Can't do it.
This is your new normal.

If you're British anyway. Don't know where you live so I don't know if it'll be coming to you.
>>
>>54259254
Nope. I'm American. We've got a whole other set of problems.
>>

>The Juubi doesn't have sapience like with the normal tailed beasts, it's mostly just a monster, you can't really talk things out with it.
That's why my combo said to use Polymorphization on it first, to give it both human form and intellect. Polymorphization also starts the newly-anthropomorphized creature with an inclination towards loyalty to you. Pretty great perk for taming mindless god-beasts.

That anon who responded first wasn't me but, do you know anymore beings who your combo would work with? It seems pretty cool.

This post reminded me, can someone explain to me what the Marvel Magic jump is actually based on?

I remember hearing someone describe it when it was first pitched, but it didn't make sense to me back then and it still doesn't.
>>
>>54259366
Nothing specific comes to mind off the top of my head, but in theory any powerful spirit. Great Furies, from Codex Alera, I guess. Lots of stuff in Exalted. Shadowrun has a bunch of spirits. Plenty of others, just look for magical settings.
>>
>>54259376
It's focused on the magical side of Marvel with Doctor Strange and stuff, as opposed to usual Marvel which mainly focuses upon people with superpowers, government agents and aliens, I think. With how annoyingly often people bring up this perk though I have no idea what else may have been the point. It's like the new greatness in power theft perks.

Any kind of reality warping perk or strong psychic abilities. Evagelion as an Angel is the first thing that pops into mind for me.

>>54258976
CATAstrophe.
>>
>>54259376
It's based off of the characters in Marvel that are magic. They tend to have different sorts of adventures than regular superheroes. Doctor Strange doesn't fight suprvillains, he deals with trans-dimensional crises. Doom fights superheroes, but he also goes on quests into magical realms to strip himself of his capacity for regret. Thor has his own thing entirely separate from superheroics where he fights Fire Giants off in the Burning Nebula so they can't use it to cross into Asgard and destroy all reality.
>>
>>54259376
The magical aspects of the Marvel series so-I would assume the Dr. Strange comics. the Mighty Thor and their spinoffs. Reading the perks, it seems like the most recent Journey into Mystery run, Thor: God of Thunder, Loki: Agent of Asgard and Secret Wars seem to be the main inspiration.
>>
>>54259376
The Magic side of Marvel, you know Doctor Strange, Thor and all those guys.
The mainline Marvel jump seems to focus primarily on well from what I can tell nothing and the other Marvel jumps are all based off of individual properties or the movies
>>
>>54259424
It's a shame they can't really make Surtr work in the other comic titles. You'd think the other villains would care more about him destroying everything.
>>
>>54259413
Personally, I don't like to use it for power theft. I just like the ability to internalize all the upgrades I make for myself. Power theft is gauche, just copying other people. But all the enchantments and cybernetic implants and biotech grafts I design? I want to make sure those count as part of me instead of just equipment I'm wearing very close to my body.
>>
>>54259424
The Avengers are mainly just a hobby for Thor when he needs to relax.
>>
>>54258779
>>54249533
>>
>>54259454
Yeah, exactly. Norman Osborne's latest scheme to take over the country really doesn't impress when you're used to fighting Niddhogr, the Dragon That Gnaws At The Roots Of The World.

I actually have notes for what goes where, and the god stuff is probably going in drop in, since that origin was heavily influenced by the arc company.

I actually should be working on that now, I just kept getting distracted.

>>54257971
I have a bad habit of claiming, making half a jump before getting bored/running out of ideas, and then claiming another jump.
>>
>>54259503
To be fair Nidhoggr doesn't do jack shit in comics!Asgard. Last I remember, he's just a lazy fatass Thor's crew occasional poke to ask things about.

Fenrir and Jormungandr just baffle me. Turns out powerlevels canonically waffle all over the place when destiny is a tangible force. And like in the myths, their parentage is NOT explained at all.

Huh, that's pretty much word for word how it was described to me back then. I guess I had a hard time buying that it was something so vague, but I guess I can see the demand, in any case.

Either way, it still doesn't sit right with me since I don't know shit about comics, and if I'm not mistaken, long running comic worlds like Marvel and DC are infamous for being inconsistent as far as strength and threat levels.

No clue how I'm supposed to write around something like that.
>>
>>54259620
We're pretty much milking comicshit for jumps.

It's kinda sad, but not much you can do.
>>
>>54259445
Bah, don't mind me anon. I'm just being a butt hurt anon who gets annoyed over perceived lazy powergaming and perks with meta names.
>>
>>54259619
Because my other bad habit is overkill, which leads to things like anywhere from 9 to 12 origins, or double perk trees, or something like that.

When I eventually finish something, it tends to look damn impressive.
>>
>>54259620
Easy
Marvel Jump is all superheroes and villains and a bunch of ultimately meaningless feuds with the occasional world ending threat
Marvel Magic is full of people who have bigger things to deal with, it is all Sorcerers, Gods, Demons and the hidden nature of reality. The heroes are the mightiest Mages and Gods and the villains are Dark Lords and Elder Abominations
>>
I just realized I could make a Night in the Woods setting on my own by mixing Zootopia, Slice of Life, and Lovecraft together. Truly HybridAnon was a gift to us all.

There is no such thing as overkill. Only "open fire" and "I need to reload."

In all seriousness, options are good for those of us on our side. Probably a pain in the ass on the creators' side.
>>
>>54259771
Have I mentioned I hate item sections?

I hate item sections. They take the longest, hands down.
>>
>>54259620
Well that's true for the basic DC and Marvel jumps too then, right?
>>
>>54259679
>When I eventually finish something, it tends to look damn impressive.
Weren't you the guy that boasted about making the most jumps and then realizing you were nowhere close.
>>
>>54259852
True...

If I'm not mistaken, those are both pretty old jumps. I guess I had just hoped that we, as a community, had come to avoid that kind of ambiguity, since then.

Maybe I'm just personally irritated regardless, since I really hate going to jumps that I don't know a damn thing about, or where I can't predict my jumper's chances of survival in good confidence.
>>
>>54259742
Is it just me, or is that picture freakishly large for what it's trying to depict?
>>
>>54259679
...really? You say that but...you don't exactly have a reputation for being impressive. Most of your recent stuff isn't even the size of a standard jump and all your biggest things have needed lots of help from other people.

Try not to get too boastful again, just like last time you don't really have the rep you think you do.
>>
>>54259895
He also boasted about making a jump the fastest once. Was pretty funny when people pointed out jumps had been made faster while also being a lot bigger then the half hearted thing he'd done.

>>54259966
No, that was time. Fourteen hours for a jump that was actually jumpable is a fucking miracle for me, so yeah I was proud of that.

Shouldn't have tried to claim a prize for it, since apparently there have been jumps made in two or three hours.

I am getting up there for number though. Granted, there's a hell of a gap between the average jumpmaker - one, maybe two jumps - and people like cats and heavens - what, twenty? - and he who shall not be named with his fucking fourtyish jumps.
>>
>>54259966
What jumps were made the fastest, anyway? The fastest I remember is DeSu's first jumps being made in a couple of days, but I'm pretty sure there must have been jumps made faster.
>>
>>54260014
Maybe it's time to stop posting for a little bit. You've got a long way to go before you top some of our better Jumpmakers, even those who don't have a ton of Jumps to their names.

An SBer shitting on another SBer, you people don't even respect your own do you?
>>

BLADE, it's taken you more than a month to finish GHF. Sit down for a little and reevaluate your definition of "impressive".
>>

>>
>>54260014

When does the KOTOR jump start? Around the time of the first game, or when Revan first returned to wage war on the Republic?

It starts a little less than a year before Revan returns and sparks the Jedi Civil War.

Speak for yourself, bucko. It's kind of adorable and pathetic, but it's not worth loathing him over. And it's not like some of our jumpmakers don't do similar shit.
>>
>>54260170
If the other jumpmakers he's trying to compare himself against counted jumps by size similar to his they'd be over a hundred jumps
>>
>>54260335
Tbf, CCDT jumps are pretty small.
