Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where some wetwork is wetter than other.

That's a nice monkey lady.

It's not another boost, it's the new sectorial most likely.
I doubt Kamau will see much play outside Varuna even after the update. Unless they are super mega OP I doubt we'll even see that much play from them in sectorial, unless Varuna does not get Fusiliers after all for some reason. It is going to be the Cutter sectorial.
>>
Im expecting varuna vs tenguska box
>>
>>54248951
If that would be true... All those who started with Icestorm would throw money so fast at them it would burn up mid air.

Varuna Amry Pack is more likely though.
>>
>>54248899

Its probably the Wotan mission, where the nomad zone just so happens to be flooded for some reason. Easy pickings for pan0.

Varuna ORC bump.

I for one am looking forward to the alleged Varuna Immediate Intervention Division pack. If a helot gets modeled that'd be great.

Also, yeah I'd think a Tunguska vs Varuna box would indeed sell like hot cakes and have piles of money burn from the friction induced of all the consumer cash being thrown at it, figuratively of course as we mostly use credit cards these days.

>>54248821
What kind of classic Infinity complaint is this. PanO's been kind of weak/bland these days with other factions like Yu Jing, Nomads, and Haqqislam getting more flavorful units with special equipment.

>>54249039
If Muyibs get a resculpt box I'd be like "Oh, shit, waddup" and start Hassassins with my new Ayyar and not so new Muttawi'ah. Haven't played that sectorial because I don't particularly want a Ghulam core, nor do I want to buy Govads, and Muyibs are kinda ugly for the fireteam I'm most interested in.

Don't worry, it'll include Kamau which are otherwise Bolt equivalents and not fusiliers so you'd be left with a lot of players with a sunk cost fallacy trying to defend their core unit sub-par for the price, like how Bolts have Bio-immunity, movement 4-2 Kamau have X-visors on LGL + likely to be included in the box, BTS 6, and Aquatic terrain which it doesn't need. I mean, at that price of 16 points you can get Myrmidons which have ODD, Unidrons with K1 combis, the general FO Sensor Remote, etc stuff with neater equipment.

But hey, BS 13 on a LI unit is mad decent when linked.

Criminals should be outlawed while we're at it. That will surely be effective.

The genetic engineering for it is only found on bakunin back alleys where real laws can't touch it and werewolves are disliked. It's just gotta be something you live with.

I've seen better, I've seen worse, I'd put it very slightly above average quality although the picture at this size. angle, and lighting, isn't particularly flattering. Shoulder looks kind of messy and the white kind of thick and flat.

I'd put it at a 6, maybe up to a 7 out of 10 personally. Enough to pass, but not quite "wow" me.
Basing could use some extra work, doesn't look finished.

Other points for improvement:

>leaving whites to be mostly an off white, like one level down from white and highlighting the extreme edges with pure white.
>Shading of the hair behind the head
shading near the shins

points for commendation:

These sound pretty good from a tentative first look.

But, given that a lot of these profiles already have models I'm a little worried it's not all new.

If there's a Daofei and Guilang resculpt that's partly easy to convert I'd consider it an instant buy.

AFAIK Ragik doesn't have a BS model, Fiday doesn't have a CCW posed model with no visible gun, Tarik Mansuri has a Rifle+LSG not a spitfire, hellcats have HMG, Hacker, Combi, ADHL, and no Spitfire, Bolts don't have a dedicated paramedic profile like that Caledonian, and Zhanying just have a dedicated hacker and ML so my hopes for Intruder, Daofei, and Guilang models are high.
>>
>>54249823
Those boosts ARE paid for. Its why Orcs and Bolts sre mad overpriced. Unless you think an Orc is somehow equal to a Ayyar.
Thats not even including the faction penalties like few interesting bits of gear.

Kamau Core will only be played if Fusiliers are mad limited, like in MO. Their limit is the only reason why Sergeants Core is sometimes played. Even with being a super cheap BS13 platform, Kamau are nothing to write home about and the main event of every list is going to be Cutter.
They're okay, but a bit costly (proving that guy >>54249823 wrong).
>>

That PanO set is predictably overcosted and terrible.
The Nomad is better, though I'd have to see what Kriza Boraks do first.

>>54251778
So besides D-charges, heavy flamethrower, Eclipse grenades, then the Auxbot on top nothing special then? Losing a couple of points of ARM is very acceptable and BS has always been better than WP on doorkickers. Watching the smokes miss 1/3 times is frustrating, but there just aren't so many units that can close down an L/MI link team so well then chase the spitfire with a shotgun. I do think they're marginally overcosted, but not for the awesome skillset, just because (like Teutons and Asuras) they still have that legacy costing from back when they had a MOV advantage. But hey, if everyone's taking missile/sniper links, Guarda delivers

>>
>>54252774
Yeah, I don't mean they're bad, but if you start to compare them to other "toolbox" HI's, say, Ayyar, the cost is rather high. I guess it may be the case of old prices, as bar Fatherknight all the HI has only had some minor adjustments since N2.
>>
>>54253228
>Is this legit?
Probably. It's how the F¥¥ box was spoiled in a very similar fashion. Also bear in mind last year Beasts of War released their video about Infinity's Gencon models too early as well.

I'm just praying to various deities that the Yu Jing releases are new sculpts and not the ugly old ones. Breaker Zhanying's ok, but I don't know what they were thinking about the Multi-Sniper Guilang (besides maybe making some imaginary quota of a useless/debatable sniper per starting army), and the HMG Daofei should've been the Spitfire which is both a Lt option and more easily supplemented by its Camouflage and infiltration.

Missile Launcher fires outside of the HMG's range.

You are comparing HMG vs ML against a target in cover w/ a Rifle. I'm talking about a ML firing at a target w/ a HMG.

Also, could you show me the math on those odds of wounding? Because 3 instances of 13 damage seem to be better odds of hurting than 3 instances of 11.

order sarge specialists/non-core attackers aren't even bad, and most MO playas use mag knight teams anyway. The kamau would no doubt get even more cheap stuff regardless.

>>
>>54253795

DaoFei HMG can plausibly be passed off as the spitfire assuming the gun is tiny, ZhanYing has breaker rifle as standard so there is a chance of 'traps, and getting a new mediocre sniper is just a dick move though alongside the CSU instead of ABH.
>>
>>54260846
Cutting the barrels off Guilang snipers to make them useful is a proud tradition, I see no reason why it should stop.
>>
>>54260846
The new Yu Jing HMG is about the same size of the Spitfire, gone are the days of the massive tube gun. I don't know why people are complaining about the Zhanying. The Madtrap, Sensor, LT, and Haris options are all Breaker Rifle. Between that, Hacker, Missile Launcher, and Hsien, the Haris can finally be made without tons of proxies. MSR sculpts are great because you can just saw off the barrel and nobody is going to yell at you for your new rifle miniature.
>>
>>54260557
>orcs are actually cheap compared to other 'standard' HI, their eventual fireteam would be ludicrously insane
U wot m8? Other standard HI would include Brigada, Janissary, Wu Ming or Zuyong. They are all much cheaper than ORC. Even PanO's own Hospitallers are cheaper than ORC. ORC links are never going to be a thing, no matter what CB tries to tell us.

>Pretty damn cheap when he can pump 3-6 shots at high BS, with 2 of them unopposed assuming a single target.
50pts for an ARM3 guy is always going to be a lot. Especially as for the same price you can get an ARM5 guy without a buddy bot and slightly lower BS.
>>
>>54261485
Orcs are pretty similar to Brigada overall. I'd put Suryats and Shang Ji in that category too. Orcs can't stand up to the real good HI links like Wu Ming and Jans but they're not too terrible, especially since they're likely to get their own ML/HRL profile to mirror the other standards.

ARM ain't shit though. I don't know why people think of ARM3 HI as fragile when they still have the far more important 2 wounds. 5-10% less chance to wound from non-crit hits isn't that big of a deal, not compared to things like the buddy bot that help you to not get hit in the first place. ARM5 is only a small part of the Father Knight's appeal, that BTS9, AHD and to a lesser extent assault are what really do it.
>>
>>54261485

Those hospitallers knights have that frenzy bonus which makes them way cheaper then they should be (not the only example in game), and the other examples have to cut down on other stuff/stats as well.

And really, a unit capable of dishing out 5-6 shots (2 in ARO) at BS 15(!) per order is still a bargain at 50ish pts.
>>
>>54261485
The buddy bot actually puts him into really elite territory when it comes to lethality, on par with the Swiss. There are like no good choices for an enemy when it swings around the corner with the combination of the LS on the bot, heavy flamer on the Guarda, and whatever gun it it has in its hands.
>>
>>54263815
Yeah, but that is pretty much the best case scenario. At that point you're burned several orders and managed to get close. Pretty much the only smoke in the faction is hard to ignore, though.
>>
>>54262457
>specially since they're likely to get their own ML/HRL profile
Until that happens ORCs will remain where they are. And neither profile has been hinted at officially. For all we know they could get a Spitfire, combi + auxbot and MSR.

>>54260557
>orcs are actually cheap compared to other 'standard' HI, their eventual fireteam

Mobile Brigada say hi at roughly 3 points less but with +1 WIP and -1 BS and LFT on multi-rifle options

Janissaries say Hi at -4 points and +2 WIP -1 BS

Asawira say hi with Regeneration, MA L2 (read: stealth), +6 CC, BTS 9, Nanopulser, Shock CCW, and a mere -1 armor for the same points cost.

Shang Ji say hi at -1 BS and adding Kinematika + Shock CCW, +3 BTS, and +3 CC. (This is one where I consider the direct comparison in favor of the ORC as the ORC has better looking models and less competition)

Which isn't to say that the Wu Ming don't say hi with the various crazy loadouts to boot all roughly 5 point cheaper

You win the round with Suryats, as they're 4 points more expensive due to Vet and RT.

And those were just the armor 4 comparisons mostly.

Zuyong, Haramaki, Riot Grrrls, Magisters, Crane Rank mixed links, and others still exist.

>>
>>54265136
Asawira have frenzy so that fucks up any talk about them.

For the more directly comparable ones, I've got the base combi price for each unit. Using Mobile Brigada as the point of comparison:
>Brigada: 34
>Orc: 36 (+2 points for +1 BS and -1 WIP)
>Wu Ming: 31, or 30 for newer profiles (-3/4 points for -1 PH)
>Janissary: 32 (-2 points for +1 WIP and religious troop)
>Shang Ji: 36 (+2 points for +3 BTS, a small CC boost and a shock CCW)
>Suryat: 36 (+2 points for -1 PH, +3 BTS and the Morat skill)

As you can see, this shit makes absolutely no sense. I can only assume that Jans were based heavily around the AP rifle+light shotgun combo and are cheaper for that reason, but it's still fucking weird. I can't even think of an excuse for Wu Ming getting cheaper.

>>54265266

PanO's are mostly rather boring and weaker than YJ ones (aside from BS) and they don't get 5pts regular orders to fuel them.
Just compare Magisters to Haramaki.

Honestly I hadn't thought that in-depth. Wildcat with filed breasts, a headswap and maybe the rocket launcher replaced with something from my Specops spares was the only plan I had. Thanks for the link.
>>
>>54268296
That's sort of duplicitous. "Aside from BS" is a pretty enormous thing to set aside. The Aquila's superior to the Hsien in a one-to-one basis, just that the latter also gets easier access to smoke (which takes up an additional 13 points and 0.5SWC).

And Haramaki obviously won't be taken in vanilla, so all those nice HI shenanigans in vanilla don't apply to JSA.

>>
>>54264072
That's the case for pretty much every close to mid range brawler. Of course you are going to spend orders to do so.

G-synch troopers can reach order to kill ratios way better than most troops, with the top level ones, like the Gorgos getting better than a 1-1. Not only can they force 2 vs 1, they can split to engage multiple targets.

Yeah, you have spend orders, to get to best situation, but light shotguns are still at 0 range up to 16 and -3 out to 24. Even at the Auxbot' s low BS that's still potential free shots at up to 24 inches against a mimetism trooper in cover.

>>54265565
Stats and gear seem to have a sliding scale in cost. The jump from BS 13 to 14 is pretty steep compared to jumps closer to baseline.

Let's have a bit of a fun thought experiment.

Let's suppose Corvus Belli, for some insane reason, decided to take a page from GW's book and rename a bunch of units and factions to more copyright friendly terms, like from Imperial Guard to Astra Militarum, or Elfs to Aelves.

What would you expect, fear, and hope to be renamed?

I can see the Imperial Service Sectorial to the Yanjing Intelligence Service or the Combined Army as an overall faction being renamed to something else but keeping the Shavastii and Morat names.

Ok, honestly the "beyond Icestorm/Red Veil" is a good idea, as that is usually the first thing asked by someone who started with them. The only problem is PanO part (as usual).

So let's try this: you have 116-120pts to spend on 3 models to expand Icestorm part of PanO, no proxies, at least one of them has to be an eye-catcher big or "wow" unit, as it's competing with Kriza Borac for attention. Assume you're making new models for everything and units or profiles without any models ever are allowed.

It may sound weird, but as a PanO player I'm starting to think PanO would be better off if Swiss Guard would never exist.
In PanO you want your expensive HI unit to be either an exceptional killer or a nigh-invulnerable specialist. In the former only Cutter outperforms Swiss, but it costs way premium and comes with all the TAG penalties and in the latter nothing compares to Swiss. Thus, like it or not, every single HI in PanO will be compared to Swiss, making the exceptional perceived as standard and anything less than exceptional "sub-optimal". It also makes players gravitate towards that single unit, making PanO a bit of a monolist faction.
Without Swiss: ORCs would have one less HMG HI to compete with, single knights like Sepulchre or Father-Knight would have more value rather than being "bloat", TAGs would be more attractive and Bolts would still suck, but NCA would play Aquila or TAGs instead of Swiss only.

Agree/disagree?
>>
>>54284283
But Anon, the Swiss guard has to exist because PanO needs a Hac Tao equivalent, and Hac Tao are a poster boy unit of Infinity.

I don't play PanO but a Crocman, Locust Breaker Combi (who's missing a model and can sort of mirror the Zhanying), and Knight of Santiago (had some surge of popularity with the Outrage Manga) is what I'd do. Maybe an aquila guard but those already have models and I'm not sure the math works with replacing the Santiago knight.

>>54284283
I'd say the Swiss is too close to an iconic unit as a HI to do away with. Also, as of right now a good dissuasion from fielding it was its ugly model, although that didn't stop an ORC proxying it.

>>54284491
Have five in a link (with maybe one Kempeitei), put in FO and like one or rarely two ML. Park it somewhere with the ML(s) in view for ARO duties and the others not, occasionally move up to do an objective and flash someone with the FO or the Kempeitei's CoC. Ocassionally take a hacking device for cheap remote buffs. What's not to get?

Swiss Guard are the only thing in the PanO HI arsenal that didn't get nerfed. That's why they're vital. In fact, Swiss got buffed (Shotgun for the missile guy?! Increased value in the assault hacker)

Aquilas lost a ton. They used to be equal to Swiss, due to their crazy camo-hunt ability. Nowadays, MSV3 is both overpriced and underpowered vs MSV2, as well as their loss of key weapon options.

GdAs lost their speed advantage, and can't coordinate to move up the field efficiently.

ORC HMG is fine on her own, but the game's moved on IMO.

Sepulchre Knights got another 5 points tacked on for no reason. Look at it: Is it really worth that much more than a Hassassin Ayarr?

Father Knights are sorta gimmicky and under-armed.
>>

>>
>>54286093
>Sepulchre Knights got another 5 points tacked on for no reason. Look at it: Is it really worth that much more than a Hassassin Ayarr?
+1 BS, +1 PH, +1 ARM, +4 CC, Stealth and Courage from Martial Arts Level 2, DA CCW, all of which gives it advantages over the Ayyar from hacking and close quarters combat. Rifles in general are about 3 points less than a combi-rifle so with the combination of extra skills and equipment that the Sepulchre Knight has (+3 for combi, +1 for DA, +x amount of points for Martial arts) the Ayyar does seem more streamlined, but I argue the Sepulchre is still better overall from the stealth it could use to avoid being hacked in the active turn and the better shooting and close combat stats. The pricing is fair for what you're getting I would say, it's just the Ayyar's straight ballin' in comparison but in a significantly different role.

Then again it does seem that Corvus Belli gives newer units a bit more leeway in combining point costs. The equipment on Xi Zhuang adds up to more than the 20 points he is.
>>
>>54286203
Yeah. Soon-ish or later-ish.

What's been disclosed is that sectorials will be PanO's Varuna, Haqqislam's Ramah Taskforce, Yu Jing Invincible Army, Aleph's OSS (the Vedic/indian sounding units), Nomad's Tunguska, and Tohaa's Triumvirate. Shasvastii and FRRM sectorials are getting a rework instead (as Onyx and USAriadna took their place in the major updates of HSN3).

>Yu Jing Invincible Army
Is there any info on those? I've been thinking of getting into the game soonish and those look amazing.
>>
>>54287381
The Yu Jing military is organized into 8 Banner Armies, which have regular infantry units supported by elite units. Thre Invincible Army is the size of a Banner Army, but was organized as the most elite unit of the military. Every combat soldier in the army is decked out in Powered Armor, and they are trained more extensively than your average Zhanshi. At least according to fluff, the Zuyong HI are supposed to be their most basic soldier, rather than the Zhanshi LI. In game the sectorial will doubtlessly be super focused on heavy infantry. A lot of vanilla Yu Jing units are actually invincible army units. I think the Tiger Soldiers, Zuyongs, Shang Jis, Yan Huos, and Daofeis are all guarantees in the IA.

Also if it matters to you, the IA is under the command of the State Empire Party rather than the Imperial Court, so they will give off much less of a fascist evil vibe.
>>
>>54287668
That is amazing to hear. Those models all look great. I guess I'll by and paint a few of those and just wait. Not much sense in looking for a local player base if I'm moving anyway. What's the best way to do that anyway? I'm in Germany if that matters.
>>
>>54287761
I don't have a very good sense of this thing since I started playing with friends and in an established community, but Infinity does have a "Warcor" thing going on where approved community members of regions are supposed to be fostering communities. If there is a Warcor in your area of Germany you might want to contact them. Also check out some Local Game Shops in your area and see if any carry Infinity and/or have active Infinity scenes.

Also, if you get tired of waiting for the next book, just no-sectorial Yu Jing is a very powerful faction. A lot of the really amazing Yu Jing units are not available in either current sectorial, and the variety of the vanilla faction is pretty potent.

Speaking of the RPG, since Mophidius clearly stole/borrowed huge chunks of the Mongoose Traveller character creation for its lifepath, (and I find that the MgT 2e ruleset is superior to 2d20), here's the beginning of an (awful) conversion of Infinity for use with Mongoose Traveller 2e.

Will probably need ideas for Shock ammo though, since Traveller is already quite deadly.

Traveller is a quite nice system, in my estimation. Simple and straightforward on the player side, variously crunchy on the GM side, with ease of cross compatibility, so you can swap out whatever you don't like.
>>
>>54302966
Mongoose 1e. Bought it, realised I hated it, never ran it.
And the 2d6 tables extend to fucking every other part of the system, while you can point-buy your way through most of the official RPG's chargen if your GM allows (and really, who wouldn't allow that?).

You are probably not going to like Mophidius' take on the Infinity RPG then.

>and really, who wouldn't allow that?
point-buy always has the glaring possibility of players gaming chargen, whereas random rolls can result in interesting characters that the players may not have aimed for. Which, of course, is something that players might not want. I just find that point-buying your way through 4 career terms of Marine is dreadfully boring.

As an aside, that's also sort of the problem I have with the Mophidius 2d20 system. It's too... gamey, with the GM using shared resources with the players to alter rule outcomes (initiative).
>>
>>54304207
>probably not going to like Modiphius' take on the Infinity RPG
But I do. Far more than Traveller.
That "gamey"ness appeals to me a lot more than a GURPS-esque slavish emulation of reality. Dice and paper can't completely simulate what happens if you fire a grenade into someone's face, at least not in a quick and entertaining manner, some allowances must be made in the name of fun.

Also I'd rather have point-buy and a "boring" but competent character than get completely fucked in the ass by my dice before the game's even begun.

Question I am starting out the game with Steel Phalanx what tokens should I buy and where is the best place to buy.
>>
>>54313249

Choose the tokens you need with this:

http://inf-dice.ghostlords.com/markers/

Then print them out onto glossy 8.5x11 cardstock at a print shop or at home if you have a nice color printer. Then cover the tokens with these and cut them out with scissors:

https://www.amazon.com/Beadaholique-100-Piece-Stickers-Bottle-Pendants/dp/B00AFRWIRQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500014188&sr=8-1&keywords=bottle+cap+pendant

Warsenal and Customeeple sell fancy premade tokens, but they'll cost a lot more.

Is CB literally incapable of sculpting an AD unit in contact with the ground?
>>
I think i figured out why pano got saddled with a bolt in this expansion. So look at the Icestorm units and you see they provide a nice starting point for individual armies but also counter each other. Nomads get a spektr so pano gets msv2. But then you have the weird standout of the healer who can keep dudes alive and pano doesnt have that option.

Now theres a swiss involved so nomads get msv2 as well. I think the bolt was included as an analogue to the healer, plus the only doctors pano has are hospitaller who will get new models, the doctor that helps sell its support pack, and bipandra who is part of dire foes. Bolt also acts as a rearguard against the hellcat and spektr. Also her bts does protect her from the healers nanopulser when you start introducing real loadouts/proxy profiles.

Its going to be interesting to see what the kriza has as tunguska is the expensive high tech sectorial, so the mk12 is a compromise in sheer firepower of an hmg or spitfire for other gear to keep costs down i think. I wonder if those pylons on his back are for odd. Im assuming baseline stats are going to be similar to a taskmasters, lower cc and higher wip, maybe a specialist.

I'm pleased how it's really more a cloak than a mantle, mantle on power armour makes the model seem exhibitionistic to my eye, cause of the color pattern interaction.

Mk12 is not that unusual, considering Nomads love spending their SWC on MI. It's what makes Geckos viable, sorta. It's why Red Fury Taskmaster is better than HMG Taskmaster (aside from koalas and tinbot).

I have every PanO model, but that's not the issue. I was thinking of the vast swathes of shit that doesn't have any model at all, like the Locust, or have horrid minis, like the Trauma-doc, while the Swiss Guard models are all still pretty good.
Basically, my issues here:
-Neoterra Paramedic
There are eight fucking Bolts already, none of which ever see play, did we really need another one gameplay-wise? Still, it will obviously look great and is part of my favorite models.
- Swiss HMG
The old version is still great, so was this needed? No. But would you fucking look at that sword? Jesus. That being said, there are a whole bunch of knight or HI loadouts that would have been plain more important. Montesa LGL, anyone?
- Kamau
Yes. Kamau are amazing and this guy delivers. Can't wait for a box and a link of these guys.

>>54322157

The Mk12 might be the M2 .50cal of Infinity, as old as your grandparents and still going strong. Plus its not usually man-portable so being a big guy helps out. This in turn lets them spend extra dosh on toys for the armor.

Those drum things on the back remind me of ghazi...please be for Jammer
>>
>>54323041
I get you, but on the other hand: Tunguska still needs to have 'rank and file' weapons too. MK12 isn't high tech, but it is basically a huge rifle, and suiting for a 'standard kit' version of a KB. I have to agree that I'd like other goodies on there: grenades, SMG, MSV, Xvisor, etc.

I'm just glad it's 1: not another thigh mounted ammo can and 2: will give me something I can easily press mold to convert current taskmaster to not have said thigh ammocan.
