40k : Homebrew fluff and army?

hey, iv been a big fan of the 40k novels mainly the horus heresy novels and been slowly just making up fluff of my own warband/chapter for 40k over the past weeks just for abit of fun. so i just looked as my document iv been slowly building up and it turns out i have around 4-5 pages filled with custom fluff without realizing.

my question to you guys is do you write down fluff that you have made and have you brought it to the tabletop, feel free to post your own guys. be nice to get some impression for some characters im working on.

bit about my dudes
>were members of the palatine blades during the heresy
>large group of them formed their own warband after fulgrim went AWOL
>still use the dueling system they were famous for and pretty much look how they did during the heresy
>something about them being a part of eidolons warband but decided to blow a hole in his ship and peace out.
