How does /tg/ rp clerics or those of faith?
Do you play the classic holy book reading, morning praying, lawful good-boy?
Do you strike a new path and find out as you go?
What have you done to make an interesting holy man?

Humility is important for me.
My first job is to save my party's retards from dying, but from a rp view I play a Pelor cleric, so everytime we enter a village I help the local folks by blessing their crops and other shit like that. We got people helping us because of that which is kinda cool (keeping our horses and carriage while we were in a dungeon, I also allowed them to use it for their labour as a form of payment).

I am currently playing a cleric of a long dead religion, who must re-brand it and make it great again.
It's a somewhat hard task, because there's already an established, working religion in a place I must establish it in, complete with clerics equal in power to me, but much more numerous.

Thanks anon.
We are a low level party, not heroes slaying dragons. I try to think how a Middle-Age cleric should do stuff, being close to peasants (a lot follow Pelor so I can't ignore that).

This is the only way to Paladin

I figure itinerant clerics lack the connections to land a sizeable pastorate or a seminary post. I carry myself as too rough around the edges to be a threat to the clergy in towns we enter, but earnest enough to be trusted with their quest work. I claim that my deity tends to disallow me from healing party members and others who mistreat me. It's good to have a party representative who can keep tabs on jobs through the church, which could be a way to a bishopric someday.

I like the idea of a peaceful holy man who rarely takes part in combat but tags along to provide aid, give rites, conduct diplomacy, mourn the slain, etc. Sort of like traditional clergymen.
