There is a group of ten or so people at a shop by me who play. Most of them are preteens

I've spent two grand on heroclix in the past 7 months and I have nobody to play with. Its a compulsive collection.

Look at Knight models, they have a batman skirmisher and they used to have a marvel licence as well.

Their Batman game's good if you like Barman. Lots of flavourful rules such as it always being night, limiting vision; part of the table setup is placing lampposts to provide light in important areas.

They also have a DCU game with totally free rules and stats, the core rules including throwing terrain pieces as weapons. You may want to proxy up and give it a go.
