How does a factory work? Because that's what you're asking. Most of them have a long production line that ends in a crate full of whatever they make, which then gets stored or shipped wherever it's going. The bigger ones have more than one production line and make multiple things.

Tend to do any sort of menial labor the admech don't want to waste a holy machine or a servitor on (sometimes they just user servitors though)

Dull, dangerous, dreary work. Forge Worlds tend to receive or make everything they need, they often have mining facilities to retreive ore, refining facilities to turn this ore to metals, forges to turn this metal into gubbins, Assembly Lines to turn gubbins into Widgets, and machine shops to turn Widgets into wares.

Generally, low ranking tech priests will supervise slave or "citizen" (read: slave) laborers, or work on the higher end manufacturing stuff (since assembling holy machines is a tech-priests job after all)

Note that living conditions on forge world tend to be complete ass for non-nobility/non-mechanicus, and there's a reason that law is brutally enforced on them by Skitarri and gunservitors.

Basically imagine the worst industrial dysotopia you can, that's your average forge world. Of course 40k being 40k you can have literally anything you want (within reason), just turn it up to 11 for scale and ridiculousness.

Space Marine actually takes place on a forge world and can give you an idea of what one looks like - hint, it didn't look much better bfore the orks showed up - and even has audiologs from imperial citizens just before the invasion which gives a brief look into their lives before everyone was kill.

Simply put, on a forgeworld, you are owned by the mechanicus, as is everything around you. As an unaugmented human you barely qualify as a person (a servitor is technically more sacred than you) and your masters are technophiles whose grasp of human psychology tends to be 'limited' due to their extreme divergence from it. Food is going to be stale rations or protien-starch-glucouse gruel. Recreation is whatever you get up to in between 15 hour factory shifts (being permitted three 10 minute meal breaks each day for good behavior)

Procreative activities is every other Tuesday, you receive a bonus meal ration for siring a child for labor. The woman is sometimes replaced with a small cup, your issue being used in a servitor or vat womb. The time frame for procreative activities is 15-30 minutes, no more.

If a market exists, it is an underground black market or a company store. Anything not issued, sold, or produced by the Mechanicum is contraband. Possession of contraband is punished by nerve stapling to discourage selfish behavior.
