There were active threads here a while ago, so I know there are go players on /tg/.

Favorite opening is probably the 4-4 point because it is easy and I remember the variations. Its been a good amount of years since I played a lot and I forgotten most of what I knew.

Where do I start with those books? The beginner stuff all seems so advanced. Isn't there any absolute beginner newbie material?

Most of the books in the overviews folder seem decent enough. The book by Cho Chikun and the book by Kaoru Iwamoto were the two I read when I first started playing.

I want to play go but nobody to play with. Can we make a 4chan guild or something on one of those sites?

I could make/manage a Discord, but it would grow slowly and be dead for the start at least. I was actually thinking of making some infograph type intro to the game and starting a gen, but this was already here.

As far as I know, none of those sites or clients have any kind of guild or club system yet, unfortunately.

you can set up your own room in KGS, and if I remember well there's something similar on OGS now.
