I mean, St Celestine and her get along better than Guiliman and her. St Celestine at least spent her time defending the alliance with the Eldar to the Inquisition.

Does make me vaguely wonder how Celestine's infinite respawning could be affected by the new Eldar god. Could it help prevent her being more and more tired out by it each time?

Possibly, given the far faster metabolism. Their digestive system is probably more efficient than human one, though, which would compensate at least somewhat (they'd get more energy out of the same amount of food).

According to Xenology, Eldar digestive system is weird, though. The waste they produce is crystaline (not actually entirely unhead of on Earth, as some desert-dwelling animals excerete crystaline urea instead of wasting water to urinate), they appear to have no system for creating peristaltic motion (the movements of guts that move material throught it), and the magos-biologis doing the autopsy couldn't even figure how digestion occurs.

I know the meme, but space marines do that by eating flesh and blood, not specifically brains. That's where flesh tearers and blood drinkers originally got their names.

That's also why so many chapters (even outside the blood angels) have drinking blood/eating flesh in their initiation and celebratory rituals. It's how the space marines share a deeper bond with one another, even beyond the geneseed.

Nugs. Listen. All of that TG wants cannon. GW themselves have stated at one point or another it isn't possible. However.
The "no female spece muhreenz" thought is a valid argument. From a pure bean counter perspective you want a stronk psychopath to brainwah and juice the fuck out of. Then you press it into centuries (hopefully) of service. The imperium wouldn't send out those capable of birthing such a specimen, they'd keep those "safe" and hope that said individual has a few more worth selecting to help with keeping the chapter at strength. Women of that calabre are too valuable to make sterile and then have killed. (Can a matinee impregnate someone? Have sex with has been established, a lot different from getting someone knocked up.)
GW sure as fuck isn't gonna state either way right now and piss off people that don't play the game but might be paying for someone who is.
Becides we got SoB/wytch hunters for that "female super soldiers) vibe and they are way more badasses because they don't have Astertes pattern plot armor.

The Imperium has always been incredibly diverse and multi-cultural. It's rules are literally just 1. Be Human 2. Worship the Emperor 3. Pay your tithes in full and on time

Beyond that they do not give any fucking fucks about anything you do short of sedition or fucking chaos worship, IE something that threatens one of the three previous rules.

As even for rule #1, they have alien client states and protectorates they leave alone when they don't have the resources to devote to slaughtering them (which is often being engaged in constant defensive war), so long as those aliens are endemic to a single world or system and/or can provide a useful service, re: Jokaero.

Wrong. The Jokaero are only spared because they are mostly non-sapient. They don't have client states or protectorates, eat a dick. What they have is the situation that they have with the Tau Empire. Empires that are too powerful to be destroyed without expending too much resources and putting pressure on the efforts to fight the greater threats.

A thousand such empires and races are now stomping/stomped the shit out of the Imperium during the events of the 13th Black Crusade/Great Rift. They are using this chance to get their revenge on an Imperium that oppressed them and threatened them for too long.

>In the broadest of terms, no human may interact with a xenos creature in any way except violently—such creatures are inherently blasphemous against the God-Emperor and must be eliminated on sight without exception. From a young age, citizens of the Imperium are taught to fear and hate the xenos, and innumerable legions of Imperial Guardsmen are taught of the superiority of Man over all inhuman things as they are drilled in the use of Lasgun and bayonet. The number of xenos who have set foot upon human worlds peacefully and survived is small indeed.

>But this is not always the case. Though the Imperium was founded upon a creed of intolerance towards non-humans, peaceful contact with a variety of xenos species actually happens frequently. In most instances, these are short-term alliances or matters of temporary mutual convenience. Just as frequently, illegal contact with xenos cultures is sufficiently commonplace that the Inquisition and the Adeptus Arbites keep a constant watch for potential contamination through contact with xenos; in spite of such vigilance, the “Cold Trade” of xenos goods on the black market still exists. A number of xenos species hire themselves out as mercenaries to a number of other species, for reasons all their own, and there are more than a few unscrupulous Imperial Commanders willing to hire such creatures to bolster their forces, seeing them as the ultimate expendable mercenaries and caring little for their fate.

>Rogue Traders, and a few other individuals, have the power to do more, and do so legitimately. These men and women, freed from the normal strictures and feudal requirements of the Imperium, have the influence and authority to make peaceful contact with xenos species for trade, temporary alliance or even to hire them as mercenaries.
>>
>>54212464
>In some cases, an allied xenos may almost become a trusted companion, highly valued for its skills. Individuals with trusted xenos allies may find that the normal laws and doctrines against consorting with xenos hamper their operations, and in regions on the fringes of the Imperium, like the Calixis Sector, a method of sanctioning xenos allies has come about to ease these difficulties.

>These Sanctioned Xenos are still regarded with caution and hostility by most, but this is unsurprising— even the Sanctioned Psykers of the Imperium are still subject to the prejudice against witches that is so readily promoted in the Imperium. However, so long as they remain in the company of an ally who can vouch for their service (assorted documentation in copious amounts is provided for this purpose), and agree to be visibly marked to prove that they are Sanctioned -- this mark is typically a brand or tattoo on the face or hands, where it can be clearly seen -- they may continue existing. The permanence of such a mark is of no concern -- without a human employer to vouch for the xenos, the mark is essentially meaningless, and should the xenos cease to serve the Imperium, its life is forfeit anyway, and the creature is slain as soon as possible.

>Within the Calixis Sector, obtaining such Sanctioning is an expensive and challenging matter; there are few who will even concede that such a practice exists, let alone perform it. A handful of Administratum Ordinates in Port Wander provide the service, having been recruited for such a purpose by interested Inquisitors, whose purity is tested on a regular basis to monitor potential contamination. Their identities are not widely known, and the service itself must be specifically requested, as they will not offer it otherwise.

Granted this all comes from the FF Books (Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader respectively) and if their canonical was in question before it is more so dubious now as GW has rescinded their licence to the IP

Then you understand that the Imperium doesn't have such relationships with aliens. That's more of a Tau thing, how they treat their alien allies.

Th dude in his idiocy (which seems you share) described the relationship between the Tau and the Imperium as a client-states/protectorates

k, fluffing my slaanesh daemons as modest and more in common with mormons who just want to spread the word of chaos and free love but will fight if absolutely necessary, typically to save mortal souls or to protect themselves

>mormon slaaneshi

this is actually quite doable since the early mormons were essentially raiders who attacked and killed others who tried to settle Utah until the US gov sent the army to confront them

And the practice of polygamy

They could be interesting reverse slaaneshi who forbid drugs so they can experience the pleasures of life unhindered and pure

Pleasure like cutting artwork into their skin with an exacto knife.

Don't humans literally have lazarus treatments to be immortal?

Don't most Eldar live only about 2,000 years or so?

Don't we literally have Admech who are upwards of 10,000+ years old?

Everything written here is contradictory to all the other fluff.
>>
>>54218832
Rejuvenant treatment doesn't make you immortal, just slows your aging. Eventually you hit a point where it won't work anymore. I think even with rejuvenation, unaugmented humans can live around a millenia at most. Admech archmagi can live practically forever, though, since they're 90% machine (often including replacing half their brains with a computer) and the few organic parts left are pretty much pickled in preservative chemicals. They can just keep replacing parts whenever they get worn out and live practically forever (although oldest among them tend to be pretty senila due to degradation of the biological parts of the brains).

I can't speak for the rest of them, but iirc, Eldrad has been around since before the Fall, so he's at least 10k years old and still not considered truly ancient. They may be like LoTR elves where they don't exactly die of old age, just whatever kills them.

Vect was born before the fall and is probably the oldest Eldar in existence.

Will Vect regain his street creed? Will he rule the Dark City again? Will he undergo the same torments Abby went through before blowing Cadia to kingdom come?

>>
>>54222173
Urien Rakarth remembers the Fall.
>>
>>54222097
>they don't exactly die of old age, just whatever kills them.
>this is pretty much how Ork life-cycles work (don't die because of old age), and they're the other major race created by the Old Ones
This is surprisingly plausible.
>>
>>54222173
Eldard is a bit older. Vect was born around the fall. Eldrad was already into training around the fall.
>>
with the whole faster blood thing is it cannon that fighting eldar is like fighting old kung-fu movie ninjas with pressurized blood?
Like alien, completely inhuman amounts of blood blasting out of an arm stump? Cuz that would be cool
>>
>>54222596
I mean, I at least get vibes of Randall Flagg towards the end of 'The Stand' from it. You know, powerful charismatic dude, ruling from a decadent capital in the post-apocalypse, whose plots aren't turning out quite how he wanted, so everything's hanging by a thread.
Still hoping he recovers, because reducing everything Eldar down to 'Ynnari United' is kinda boring.
>>
>>54222173
In the timeline in the codex (which is probably more reliable than Vect's own account, which he admitted might have been a lie), Vect is first mentioned as a slave several thousand years after the Fall, so he probably wasn't actually around during the Fall.
In any case, he's hardly the oldest Eldar around. There may be some other archons that are actually older than him. Lelith is probably older, actually, as she was already the leader of the Cult of Strife when Vect rose to power. Eldrad was already the high farseer of Ulthwé before Horus Heresy, so he's over 10 000 years old. Several haemonculi personally remember the Fall, and Urien Rakarth is rumoured to be the first of the Hameonculi, and the one who started the first pleasure cults that eventually lead to the Fall, making him several tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of years old.

None of these is a good example of the lifespan of the average Eldar, though. DE are effectively immortal as long as they can rejuvenate themselves by feeding on pain and suffering, although as they age their soul will be drained faster and faster, and most eventually hit the point where they can't replenish it fast enough. Meanwhile Eldrad is pretty much entirely turned to crystal, which happens to all farseers as they age. Most eventually stop being able to move and effectively die (their crystalline bodies being connected to the infinity circuit to let the soul leave the body and join the souls of the dead Eldar), but Eldrad is keeping his body moving with pure willpower/psychic might (which is why he's the only non-Phoenix Lord Eldar with t4). His body is no longer biological so he can't die of old age.
>>
>>54222933
Possibly. The whole idea behind eldar is that they're impossibly fast compared to humans when it comes to combat. That would potentially mean their fast twitch muscles are considerably more efficient/stronger/better/however you want to call it, and would rely on better blood flow than humans. That could translate into arterial sprays and dismemberment comically exaggerated and it wouldn't surprise me.
>>
>>54223131
of course, I have only the vaguest knowledge of how all the squishy bits function in a human, so for all I know I could be talking out my ass.
>>54223121
In regards to eldar/dark eldar life stuff, I completely forgot that deldar's source of sustenance would effectively skew any hard estimates on their lifespan. Good point on Eldrad and other farseers in regards to crystalization, it didn't really occur to me that the reason why Eldrad hasn't succumbed yet is probably sheer stubbornness and plot.
>>
>>54222998
Literally nothing Randall Flagg did worked in the slightest and his defeat was a foregone conclusion ending in a literal deus ex machina. Not exactly the same, he's more like Xanatos.

God, The Stand sucked. It's not the mark of a good novel when you root for the villain because he tries very hard but never succeeds in even one scheme. It was like watching a Roadrunner cartoon that took itself seriously.
>>

Imperial anti-aging tech is pretty primitive. It only works for a couple centuries before a person starts needed to replace more and more of their flesh with cybernetics in order to stay alive. The AdMech can live forever because the highest ranking ones are 95% machine and may in fact be entirely mechanical (but don't tell anyone, that would be heresy).
