I'm running a game where the players are de-factor leaders of a a band of mercenaries. What kind of random encounters would be possible for a group involving 30 people(with only 3-5 of them being actual players)?

Some Ideas
>A small group of refugees that are feeling from some war torn/devastated land. They're not carry much in value, but might make good slaves/target practice
>Large herd of animals are seen in the distance. There's a small chance a wyvern/primitive dragon will swoop down and take one, causing the herd to stampede in the parties direction.
