You mean, like the one literally called D6 Fantasy?
>>54177314
Fate, kind of. You can replace its fudge dice with d6 - d6. The distribution's similar but it doesn't trend as closely to zero.
There's a free indy RPG called Open Adventure that uses a d6 - d6 system. Here's that PDF if you like. Never even really read it before, so I can't tell you if it's any good or not.

Can anyone a suggest a system that's not overbearing on fluff, medium rules, and splits its focus on combat and out of combat mechanics?

Barbarians of Lemuria is 2d6 + bonuses vs. a target number of 9.

Wushu uses just d6 pools based on how much detail you provide to your kungfu/gunfu stuff, and there's nothing stopping you from really deep-frying that experience in fantasy. PDF's free on RPGNow, rules are free on the website: http://danielbayn.com/wushu/

And is also d6-based, or is this a general request?

Advanced Fighting Fantasy. d6's only, sorcs are some sort of blood mage that uses their hp to power magic like taking goblin teeth and turning them into your own summoned goblins, you still get your standard wizards doing book magic stuff, too.

Barbarians of Lemuria and Risus stuff is also pretty good.

Also great. Played this once and had some real good fun.

You can also use 2d6 and increase the DCs by 7, if that's more your speed.
Dungeon World and PbtA stuff uses 2d6+modifier as well.

Strike! does this in a very literal way with the tactical combat module and the team conflict module.
