Latvian Gambit Edition
>ripping up your king side like that
Oh, bad.
>>54163735
>KingĀ“s gambit is a bad option at any serious level
>mfw there are people who try to play it with one time less
That shit has been disproved. For example:
1.e4 e5
2.Nf3 f5
3.exf5 e4
4.Ne5 Nf6
5.Be2 Nc6
6.Bh5+ +-
If you are going to go nuts so soon, at least develop something first, pic related.

The Latvian Gambit is like a bomb going off; it leads to complete chaos where anything can happen. At the club level it's fun, but in any serious competitive chess it's impossibly too dangerous.

This game is the classic example. It very quickly turns into a shootout with both kings out in the middle of the board.

Bobby Fischer once faced a Latvian in a simul. He said afterwards, "I won, but I just barely survived. I hope I never see another Latvian Gambit again any time soon."

No hiding behind pawn walls and trying to create a winning endgame there, no sir.
Black can win the Latvian if he stays aggressive and doesn't let up the pressure, as in the game I linked.
How much HP do pawns have?
How much battle power does the queen have?
How many healing spells do the clerics have left?
You literally cannot play this game without giving more details. Fuck off with this bait thread.

This opening is Bill Wall-tier.
The Latvian Gambit has a couple of cousins. These are:
>Schleimann Gambit
>1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 f5
>Rousseau Gambit
>1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 f5
>Philidor Countergambit
>1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 f5
Tomorrow I'm going to play chess for the first time in over a decade. Can someone give me a

In general, during the opening you want to
>Control the center as much as possible
>Develop your back rank pieces as quickly as possible
>Keep your king safe.
These will interlink. Even if your king is in its starting square, if you have a huge development lead, you'll be safer than his is. Try not to move a back rank piece more than once until you've either got all of your pieces out, or you have a damn good tangible reason to do so, like you're being attacked or you can take something for free.
