Come up with some strats to make necrons viable. Tell me what you think, be harsh idc.
1. Destroyer lord with staff of light alongside 6 dakka wraiths. Re-rolling 1s to wound and they are all fast meaning you can move around take objectives and pop weak targets without spending all game in CC with a weak infantry unit. The re-roll also gives a second chance to get 6s on the beamer which means an extra mortal wound. Plus they are still decent in cc and have the invuln so they are tough to move.
2. obvious blob of warriors with overlord buffing them, decent mid board holder with extra hitting and harder to kill with resurrection orb. Throw a cryptek nearby to give them a 5++ and potentially a 3+ resurrection?? dunno if technomancer and orb stack but it seems like it does. Swap out overlord for command barge for more dakka and it only has 8 wounds, so you cant target it first.(edited)
3. Essentially 1. but instead of wraiths take melee destro lord with praetorians equipped with casters and blades re-rolling 1s to wound, you can leave combat and still shoot, so best scenario is charge, deal as much damage as you can, tank one round of enemy attacks, fallback 10" then shoot again with the casters to either finish off or cripple the enemy unit, hopefully enough to force battle-shock.

4. Take a couple of Stalkers with twin heavy Gauss cannons and have them sit at the back applying debuffs to enemy units 36" away. Stack them with the praetorians in 3. after they fall back and shoot. Shoot first with the stalker, to give the praetorians 2+ to hit. Use the second one with some death-marks, deploy them in the movement phase 9" away from an important target, shoot at it with the second stalker, then rapidfire the enemy to death on a 2+ to hit. 6s to wound cause a mortal-wound alongside the normal damage. or just pile a bunch of doomsday arks behind them(edited)
for 2+ heavy3 shots
5. Monoliths and nightscythes, they can both deploy units set up on their tomb world, so you can essentially deploy your entire army in the enemy deployment zone. Deepstike the lith as close as you can and have 2 or 3 scythes following up behind it moving 20-60 fucking inches across the board. Then shoot, next turn set up 3/4 units straight away so some praetorian and 3 units of immortals, which can all immediately move and shoot, just rapid-fire niggas down along with the scythes and lith that probably wouldn't be dead in one turn. Then have some doomsday cannons sat at the back, or do 1.
The beautiful thing about the last one, is you can have a couple different types of units on the tomb world and you set them up based on where they are needed most
the only scary thing is, if the enemy manages to take out one or two of the scythes, they you're automatically at a disadvantage. you get the hard to hit roll which is good, but also the reason why this only works with the lith as well, cause it will be focused. and if i couldn't kill it with 6 lascannons in 1 turn when we played last, then its likely they will all survive. You can then living metal, drop off you're dudes, and hightail it out of there to get to max weapon range before hovering and firing at everything that gets close.
