Oh the thread just managed to die. What a way to start a new one with a noob question like this.
I have a confusing situation in the game right now. Did I glitch the White Lion, when there's only Maul and Combo-Claw left in the AI deck and the Lion has Strange Hand permanent injury?
There are no Grab targets from last round, and no knocked down survivors either.
I guess the question is if Sniff ever turns into a Basic Action?
Here's the Maul AI card for reference. I'd be most grateful for this information, since this situation is happening on lantern year 2.

Any more tokens or good art for that sort of thing?

I know it was cheap :(

The White Lion is meant to be easy to manipulate. You can also make it so that you just gain insanity or understanding forever if you disable the right part of him.

Sniff will not turn into basic action. A monster's Instinct is the thing it will do when it cannot even perform a basic action. Instinct is the backup, last chance, no other option for the monster.
So grab your people and stand around the monster while you soak up all that Understanding from its lost hand. It'll suck that you won't have Tinkers early on, to the point that I might suggest that you don't have everyone hit the third Understanding dot, but it's still worth it to get the max Understanding abilities. Leyline Walker provides an amazing tank and frees up worries for equipment early on. Ageless is fantastic and it gives you a solid stat bump. Peerless is a little less great, but Quixotic is solid, and there's a lot of ways to support the Peerless ability to have a steady flow of survival, which can turn a character into a murder/dodge machine.

Peerless & Ageless they were, then. Only two survivors were alive when Lion stupefied. Really shouldn't have critted those Lion Testes earlier... could have had a couple more White Secrets.
Thanks for answers, by the way.
