What's a good loadout for a Leviathan dread?

I'm a little adverse to using the new Redemptor, regardless of how good it's rules might be (though with everything SM I imagine it'll be mediocre)

I prefer to use the old tanks and dreads alongside Primaris for the models and think the Lev will make a nice, but not OTT centrepiece

Pretty much don't take the Cyclonic Ion whatever.

Grav Flux Bombard is broken good, Storm Cannon is also great and in certain situations better than the bombard without being overall broken.

If you're running one melee weapon, drill. If you're running two, drill and claw.

Also stormravens can carry a dread based off the dread keyword, so if you were taking a Stormraven anyhow consider dropping the leviathan in the middle of your opponents force for maximum Jesus Christ.

It's in the advanced rules in the back.

You can only get cp if you have a battle forged army; that is to say you army must fit into one or more of the detachments listed in the rule book. Doing so nets you an automatic 3 cp.

For example a brigade detachment require's you to field two HQ choices and three troops choices and provides a bonus 3 cp (For a total of six if it's your only detachment).
By contrast the spearhead detachment needs one HQ and 3 heavy support and only gives +1 cp, but allows you to bring up to six heavy support units.

I got Draigo and a NDK as a gift just prior 7th ed started. Never started to play, because the game unbalance and army cost. Now with 8th and more free time I bought another NDK and 3 boxs of terminators, and got 8 metal GK in power armor with halabards and 2 incinerator and 2 psycanon ones.
I don't have the money to get the rule book or indeks yet. But I want to assemble the army.
The metal models are easy as they don't have any options, but what about the NDKs or the terminators. What weapons should I use, should I run the terminators as paladins or normal termintors ?

You'll want to give the NDK two ranged weapons. One should be the Heavy Psycannon, the other is up to you : Heavy Incinerator automatically hits a random number of shots and has a high strength, the Gatling Psilencer is just 12 shots with Str 4 but a little less points than the other options. Could give it the sword if you also want it to punch other large models in melee, but it is most effective as a shooty unit this edition.
With the Terminators you'll want at least one Nemesis Daemonhammer and one Psycannon per 5 terminators regardless of which flavour. Paladins or regular is up to you, people generally prefer Paladins but Terminators are cheaper in points so can have more units around them.

Dreadknights are expensive as fuck & can't teleport around like they used to. The weapons are tough, as psycannons aren't an auto-take this edition, and heavy incinerators cost an arm & a leg.
I think Halberds look cool on my terminators, but S5 is only an improvement against T4. At least it nets you a 5+ wound on T6-9, (4+ with hammerhand). I'd go with the falchions, due to the +1 attack.

All Phosphor, All The Time. Sure, they suck at AV, but they'll mulch through Marines and even Terminators with ease firing 18 S6 AP-2 shots per model.

Pop Shroudpsalm on Turn 1 (not uncommon) and Aegis Protocol gets you to T7 W6 1+ 4++ (which reflects Mortal Wounds on a 5++, too). They are almost stupidly tough RIGHT up until they gain the ability to delet entire marine units in one volley. Smashstelans are nice, but not quite as insane. Benefit from going second, too. Will tank a lot of fire on aforementioned 1+ save, then keep it until start of second Battle Round when Turret Mode enables, thus not exposing them to enemy fire until you've already got a volley in.

Ok, so the 14 year old obviously has well off parents who can buy the kid an education and new models while the 30 year old is some wage slave blue collar who is still fielding the army he painted 10 years ago. so, i'm pretty certain i stumbled across what will likely be common in the new meta

>deredeo dreadnaught

what you do is squat them all together. deredeo gives centurions 5+ invul and is a best by itself in general. red scorps guy gives everyone all re-rolls. proceed to annihilate anything that gets close to you.

only real weakness is controlling objectives. at best it can squat one, maybe take 2 reliably. but after watching a friend play this several games over it decimates so much it hardly matters.
