I'm developing a game with a small company. Here is a poll to determine what people want to play.

Also, discussions are open for options not here.
Is it even possible to compete with 40k at this point?

Plenty of games do.
Going "Well what do people want to play?" is the wrong way, though. You start with a game you like and see if it catches on.

What would be the best way to go about this? By offering at conventions? Just throwing it up on kickstarter? Demos?
Looking at cost to produce without going bamkrupt.
We've got 2 prototypes that are very fun. And had some positive reviews. Now used about finding a way to get it out there for funding and production without going broke.

Start putting out books (which is cheap as shit, especially if you print to order) and produce metal or resin miniatures in your garage, ie. like every miniatures company started out. Once you have a following and community, you can do a kickstarter. Kickstarters without being at least somewhat established are mostly doomed to fail because people have wizened up to buying into scams or projects of nonames that most likely won't deliver.
Another word of advice: People that like high-quality miniatures and people that like grid-based board/wargame hybrids mostly don't mix. Look into Dust if you want proof.

But I want squads/warbands but not with a grid...
Also saged for being a commercial. This isnt a space for free advertising or market testing. Get out, youre not wanted

So the 3d tactical open table option? Which is one of the four that I voted for lol
