A while back, someone asked me to make a lore pastebin for Dream of Genie. It sort of turned into a mix of that, comments on things that got cut, and explanations of links between concepts that may be unclear. It's around 70% done and currently about ten thousand words. I don't know if anyone would actually enjoy reading a wall of text like that, so I think I might just drop it and learn how to communicate thoughts succinctly. Sorry for the blog post, just putting it out there.

Trees are nice, and the hills are lovely. This means lumber and stone, maybe even metal, too. Plus, fresh water from the lake.
>Barracks, Hospital (High tech equipment, medical AI, self-replenishing supplies), Tavern (Excellent Food), Settlement (1K), Townsfolk (Increased Intelligence), Mages, Honor Guard, Workshop, College.
My honor guard have their barracks to hang out in. Super hospital for optimal, free healthcare; healthy citizens are happy citizens, after all (AI explained away as magical entity; close enough). A nicely sized settlement, with a tavern to relax at, inhabited by intelligent individuals who are occasionally gifted. They all have the opportunity to learn and better themselves at the college. Having a smith in the workshop should come in handy for maintaining equipment, and occasionally producing some new stuff.

I'm not big on magic myself, but I am something of a god of the battlefield at this point.

And she will be a Tiefling.

A half dozen knights, one squire, one peasant, one dog and one fairy guide. Off traveling the world, smiting evil and having adventures. I picked equipment based on how useful it would rather be instead of how flashy - oh sure, that magical artificer blade looks handy, but it will never beat taser mace in its ability to incapacitate enemies in armour.

Same goes for my armour, I'm fine sacrificing some defense for some flexibility and ease of wearing. A warhorse isn't the flashiest mount, but it 's low maintenance and won't eat me, which puts it leaps and bounds ahead of everything else on that list. The dog has a good nose and a powerful jaw.

Hopefully while we're meandering around the countryside we find some evil to fight.

Picking the lair as a Reclaimer so I can pull my own weight. Also, long periods without good food sucks something fierce so being able to provide that for the team would be nice. Cass and ogre bro because they're adorable together. Cass can lead, ogre bro keeps her level headed, and sherry will be there to provide endless entertainment while keeping morale high. I thought the idea of just being this ridiculous Shonen delinquent would be fun. Some innate talent or ridiculous backstory to justify my immense strength. Guts and Intimidation were both honed to adequate levels by the odd intense battles I always ended up in by some quirk of fate. Gained Hotaru's interest because of the way things would get ridiculously over the top whenever I was around, and her encouragement and theatrics helped me increase my own, allowing me to unlock the power of the Death Glare. Every fight is just the natural result of the dramatic air that follows me everywhere I go, and truly only the most unflappable, most menacing of opponents can ever get past the Shonen Field to defeat me.

Oriadne's family's skill in their ability to replicate weaker versions of all the other Noble Houses, they're actually a branch family of House Scorpio, which is what allows them to do this by manipulating the chemical make-up of their bodies. Oriadne went into Alchemy specifically because he wanted to prove he was just as good as Scarlatina. She's his cousin, and sort of his personal role model/rival, you can probably see in their personalities.

Alchemy sort of became my go to, "It's magic! I don't have to explain shit!"
They're both capable of amazing feats because it's essentially hyper andvanced, magical chemistry. The House of Scorpio are just more talented in using it in the field and in their day to day lives because of their ability to manipulate liquid.
In short, they're both brilliant Alchemists, Scarlatina just works faster.

Demiplane is vast savanna scattered with mountains, crawling with monsters and eldritch abominations. Plane affinity so that we can train various animals as pets for hunting and guarding things. Have village of diverse and exotic amazons that have culture obsessed with hunting and slaying monsters, kind of like Norn in GW except amazons and not shapeshifters. They'd hunt giant serpents that hide under the sand, nomadic centaurs, and giant carnivorous birds that live on top of mountains. Amazons live as tribe that shares everything and are very cooperative for survival. Forging strong weapons and training hunting pets are important to them. I live in tower and am leader of the amazons because of powerful elemental magic that is strongest close to my tower and because I can turn into a dragon to fight off biggest monsters. Take form change so I can be tall, strong amazon. Occasionally travel to earth when things are calm to check how everything is back home.

By not taking a Terrain I assume that the dimension outside the Workshop/Library/School complex is unstable and hostile to life. My Bride/bodyguard can survive, even thrive, in this environment but I cannot (yet). The race is on between my learning capacity and the monsters' adaptability, if I cannot set up a portal to Earth I expect to starve or worse. If I succeed I can kidnap/recruit a settlement's worth of people to assist as fellow enquirers, test subjects or simple meat shields.

In time my Abyssal Blood ought to kick in making me less dependant on others for protection. My Bride's inability to ascend beside me may be a blessing in disguise as without a mere mortal I care about I am likely to go off into the deep end.

More likely to combine Womb of the World with On the Origin, but I think I'm going to have to make some further reaching changes to that whole set to make it more coherent. There needs to be some kind of substantial rejiggering because I want the crafting of living and unliving things to start out separate and only become unified after mastering both of them. Doing that with each fork feeling distinct and the melding capstone ability being deeper than "now you can mix the two things you can already to" takes a bit more thought.

The immortality option also takes more thought, since I thought both of those were pretty cool but they're reasonably different and counter each other's downsides if I just straight-up mix them.

Pretty much. And loads of crafting options. The two together make it the world that out of all of them best embodies "I wanna make some cool shit" without just being purely wish fulfillment world like Rim and without stepping on Aether's architecture or Uthuli's worldshaping. I think Mu's immortality is a bit much like the Void's. The Deep Dark has similar mechanics to a lot of worlds, where you have to protect your respawn location, but its theme, of forging the body out of metal and gems is cool. So my recommendation is to keep that one.

I'm trying to imagine what this world is going to be like. Will the caves have pockets of air, or will they be filled with water too? How important will darkness be this time around? Aren't the elements of invisibility and darkness encroaching on each other's territory and therefore discordant?

Creatures, tools, art, curiosities. You could do architectural stuff too, it's just not focused on it the same way. And there's synergy there. There's nothing that would prevent you from putting the Deep Dark runes into Aetherial constructions. But it's focused more on the abstract of useful crafting abilities than any specific product, with the idea that you can figure out how to use these yourself, and use them even better with all the cool materials that Thrallherd's worlds in general are rife with.

Good point about the redundancy on immortality, but since Mu and Deep Dark are fused now, it seems like I'd have to let you use biological components to build your body, which sort of undercuts the coolness because it can become less of a "golem-forged of earth and stone" and more "frankenstein with cyberware.

The caves will have air pockets. I had some throwaway line in the original Mu about air pockets, so you could go there without the Infusion and still do stuff, but it was a lame contrivance. Putting them in tunnels makes that easier, though there'll still be water underground. Stonesense will make finding breathable air a lot easier too.

Invisibility and darkness are similar enough that it seems to me they can be fused. I haven't done it yet, though, so I'm not sure exactly how it's going to work.

What makes any character or person interesting? That they have some goals of their own that don't revolve around you.

A mad scientist waifu should be trying to take over the world or raise Cthulhu to experiment on him, a sorceress waifu should be pursuing lichdom or godhood, a ghost waifu seeks to avenge her death, an adventurer waifu is hunting for the Ark of the Covenant... you get the idea. Even "become the strongest" might do in a pinch, as long as they're not doing it just to impress you.

None of this means a waifu can't love you unconditionally or even be an outright mind-controlled slave, just that they need to have some other goals besides that. A waifu might be your dream lover but an interesting character needs to be more.

The jungle climate will not help dealing with the Rot but I have as much medicine as I can get my hands on. The plan is to search for the fountain in the hopes that it can cure me. The Ruins and Dragon may be able to point me in the right direction. Along the way I'll learn to harvest the cryptids, trade oil/salt/sugar with the cannibals and keep our own little tribe from collapsing. I will probably die (though the strength of sacrificed aurochs might help for a while) but if I can give the cannibals an example of survival without losing sight of humanity I'll consider myself successful.
