just a guess - higher altitude means colder temperatures means moisture precipitates more readily on that central rock spire, then flows down to the stream.

I have thousands of /tg/ inspiration images and concept art but the folder I made because I was saving literally every image in this thread is now easily the best one. Polite sage because it's at image limit.

These are the kind of art threads I really appreciate. I'm glad to see this one has reached the image limit.
