So,I was thinking we make armor into a health buff rather than damage reduction.You'd add 20% more health to your fleet,for example,with a number of 4.
2 gives you 10%
3 gives 20%.
4 gives 30%.
5 gives 40%.

Going unshielded gives 50%,and the ability to reroll a doomsday overheating.

Going unarmored gives your shields complete immunity to damage as opposed to 80% reduction.

Before he was known as the Master the being you know of was once Echo Knight of the Court. He was often the first into a new existence to bring news of Cessation and lead the Court's numberless Legions against any who stood in their way. So you see Carter after the last Cessation he and the Horde were drawn here to this galaxy to find what they hope to be the last piece of information to destroy the Court. We are fabricating them as quickly as possible. Several have been destroyed, but they are evolving to fight the Horde more effectively. The only problem we have been having with them is the occasional slip of Root control during the heat of battle. They are "Unable to restrain this beast's hunger after it gets metal in its maw." Given their purpose, I find it best the Roots ride the avalanche, rather than try to control it.

The sheer amount of material they are recovering with each battle is making it hard to control their breeding. We will have to cull the majority of them after this conflict. We are running out of Roots able to reign them in. Hell, we've almost ran out of Roots with suitable experience in combat. Farmers and miners are being hired on to supplement the remaining warriors as support personnel.

The situation currently is that Federation forces are rapidly reclaiming Horde and Perfected controlled worlds at a great cost to all parties involved. Okay,sure.

The duel rules are a little vague,though.You get some stats,health,attack,equipment,etc,that you choose based on how you think it would be.Then,we roll for attack and stuff.
You get two actions per turn.You can roll to attack,obviously,and roll to block.Blocking must match the roll's damage or more to succeed,and damage and blocking is cumulative.So,if you rolled 34 and 67 to attack,and I rolled 35 and 65,I would take all damage.

That,or we can roll d100s and try to play it out in a fluffy way.

Carter'll probably win,because despite it being a prototype it is a quite good weapon[or whatever it is],and I'll be giving it stats that'll be a little superior,if you don't mind.The interloper is meant to die,after all.

But this is pretty much a test for the duel system,so don't sweat it.It doesn't really matter who wins,since the outcome would remain mostly unchanged.

I just want to see how these work,check the kinks.If it seems too luck based,let me know.
