If a 5ft square is about the box a human fits into, that leaves about 45 or 50 feet between the orb and the rogue. Have the rogue hold his action and move his full 40 feet (going to say he took the mobile feat) towards the orb. Then have the fighter or paladin use their martial adept feat and attack the dragon with a maneuvering attack, pushing the rogue another 20 feet towards the orb, allowing them to use their held action to activate the orb and wish the dragon was dead.
