So /tg/ i am trying to think up some home brew stats and appearances for daemons of Gork and mork for a codex but how would you handle ork daemons without making them overpowered and overpriced
>>

>how would you handle ork daemons without making them overpowered and overpriced
good stats but difficult to control
>>
>>54024396
They already exist, we call them ___Orks___
>>
>>54024396
>>54024456
this, very wild and savage and liable to fuck up your own guys

Odds damage intended target. Evens damage nearest friendly.

Doomrider summoning.

The Orks have gotten so frenzied that they WAAAGH! An Orken Prince from wherever he happened to be, he appears for a few moments, wrecks shit, then pops away to the next Waaagh worthy of his attention.

Lore-wise we can say it's an Ork so Orky he ascended to Daemon Prince status, and thus only the best segments of the best WAAAGHS are worthy of his attention. He is continually fighting for the sake of Gork and Mork across every conflict Orks are involved in everywhere.
>>
>>54024396
What do you think oddboyz are?
>>
>>54024396
you have to figure out which one is Cunningly Brutal and which one is Brutally Cunning
>>
>>54024660
It's brutal but cunning and cunning but brutal.
>>
>>54024396
Unrelated, but the undisguised mirror job on the left image is jarring as hell. It's like Age of Nounverb Fyreslayers all over again.
>>
>>54025021
It isn't undisguised. There are differences between the halves.
>>
>>54024396
Chaos has daemons because the Chaos Gods are fused from a bunch of daemons and when you summon a daemon you're summoning a fragment of a Chaos God.

The other gods are either too stable or too spread out for you to only summon a part of them, all the shamans that went into making the Emperor are basically used up so you can't summon them, Gork and Mork and the Hivemind are gestalts formed from countless beings in the materium so technically every Ork and Nid is one of their daemons.
>>
>>54025708
The Emperor is a Perpetual, not a shaman fusion.

Also the GSC can summon psychic constructs from their mini-hive mind. Weirdboyz can summon the foot of Gork (or Mork).

So it's not out the question.
>>
>>54025781
>The Emperor is a Perpetual, not a shaman fusion.

They are not mutually exclusive though, look at Ephrael Stern who is a collection of souls like the Emperor and resurrects like a perpetual every time she dies.
>>
>>54025708
What about avatars of Khaine, which are Daemons? Honestly curious.
>>
>>54025808
Living Saints are ressed by the power of the Emperor and each time they return diminished. They have a set number of allowed resses before their souls are gone.

Perpetual have a heal factor and can ress from death. The Emperor isn't even the only Perpetual. There are many more and two of them are as ancient as he is and have known him personally. I believe you arguing that they are are also shaman fusions would be silly.

Anyways, the HH audiobook "Perpetual" says that Perpetual are subspecies of mankind. Think mutants from the X-men.
>>
>>54025708
No. Daemons are fragments of a greater warp entity. Nids and orks are not, they are the ones who generate the Shadow in the Warp and Gork and Mork. Fundamentally differents things. Gork and Mork can't create orks, for example.
>>
>>54025865
>when you summon a daemon you're summoning a fragment of a Chaos God.
Replace daemon with Avatar of Khaine and Chaos God with Khaine.

If deamons are the will and avatar of their respective Gods, Gargants would be the Ork version of that. Instead of summoning them from the warp, when Gork and Mork feel the need they send divine inspiration to their boyz to create their deamons from iron and Ork-yness.
>>
>>54026171
I was referring to the claim that gods other than the main four chaos ones were "too stable" to summon daemons from, which Avatars of Khaine seem to contradict.
>>
>>54026437
>the main four chaos ones were "too stable" to summon daemons from, which Avatars of Khaine seem to contradict.

You're right, each race just has a different way of interacting with the warp. Eldar have Khaine and their god's avatars, Orks have WAAAGH energy, humans have chaos gods and the Emperor, and Nids have their hivemind and warpshadow. Only Tau, as far as we knoe, don't interact with the warp in any meaningful way.
>>
>>54026487
Aren't Necrons also warp-neutral, due to losing their souls?
>>
>>54026514
Yeah, but only after losing their souls to the C'tan. They still fuck around with warp stuff on an engineering level, they just lost their innate ties to the warp along with their souls.
>>
>>54026514
Not that guy but
the C'tan are their equivalent of a warp entity then?

Necrons dont show up in the warp cause they got no uneaten souls and tau have too small of souls to matter
>>
>>54026541
It would be interesting to have a War in Heaven game that included things like unshattered C'tan and Necron Psykers.
>>
>>54025883
>The Emperor isn't even the only Perpetual. There are many more and two of them are as ancient as he is and have known him personally. I believe you arguing that they are are also shaman fusions would be silly.
You'd have a point if all other Perpetuals were as powerful as the Emperor which they clearly are not. Just because the shamans fused their souls does not mean they couldn't create a perpetual soul.
>>
>>54026558
C'tan are apparently not aligned with the warp, since they made the necrons craft the pylons that hinder it. They are giant roaming cloud soul-vampires, energy beings that are antagonists to the old one's.
>>
>>54025883
Ephrael Stern isnt a Living Saint, she's a 1000 souls fused into one and like I said before she had all the characteristics of the Emperor and a Perpetual before Perpetuals were a thing.

So yeah I dont think the Emperor's origin and Perpetuals are mutually exclusive.
>>
>>54026574
Nearly all Perpetuals are psykers.

and the Emperor got his power boost from a deal with the Chaos Gods.

Again, no shaman fusion.
>>
>>54024396
>Gork and Mork have daemons
>Ork daemons

Simply put: You can't, and that's just from a lore perspective. Normal Orks are capable of beating the shit out of daemons INSIDE the Warp (just ask Tuska Daemonkilla, who only got himself killed because his WAAAGH! never stopped to get more Orks once it took off into the Eye of Terror). If Gork n' Mork had actual 'daemonic servants', they'd probably end up murdering every non-Ork entity in the Warp that wasn't 'god'-tier just because of how stupidly strong Gork n' Mork are themselves. Khorne's boys might give 'em a run for their money, but everyone else is pretty much fucked.

>>54028059
>the Emperor got his power boost from a deal with the Chaos Gods.
Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't Tzeentch the one making this claim? Isn't the word of a serial liar/manipulator like him just a liiiiittle bit suspect?
>>
>>54028307
>Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't Tzeentch the one making this claim? Isn't the word of a serial liar/manipulator like him just a liiiiittle bit suspect?

No, Alivia Sureka. One of the original Perpetuals and ancient companion of the Emperor who accompanied him to Molech where he made the deal. She stayed behind to guard the Gate to the Gods.
>>
>>54028359
Wasn't that power just used to make the Primarchs not to increase his own?
>>
>>54026558
C'tan have no Warp connection. In fact, the Warp is the only power capable of stopping them, as they are fully tied to the Materium and have all their power vested there.
>>
>>54024396
Literally boyz, but +1 attack, no guns
>>
>>54025865
Avtars of khain are literal shards of Khaine himself. Remember that Khaine is ot a whole diety anymore, but got shattered like broken glass
>>
>>54025781
>The Emperor
>not a shaman fusion

Are you going to ignore the very clear and perfectly explained origin of the emperor GW already gave us?
>>
Orks already have daemons they are their vehicles. Physics defying monstrosities that physically represent their patron deities.
>>
>>54024396
they behave randomically, best you can do is buy an upgrade that dictates whether they are only brutally cunning or cunningly brutal instead of jumping between both

they are formless, they manifest as a greenish mist filled with sparkling energy that violently waves over things manifesting jaws, fists, feet, laser eyes and the occasional butt (ideally these manifestations should look like they belong to an actual greenskin covered by the mist, not disembodied body parts)

they are both a being and a blessing, their randomical behaviour may lead them to interact with enemies or allies, inflicting damage and/or infusing power; of course damage against greenskins will be minor than the damage against an enemy and the infusion of waaagh power will destabilise minds, bodies and machines of the enemy where it would enhance the rapidity, strength and functionality of greenskins and their tech

the mists are summoned by the wyrdboys that can be varried floating above the mist either surfing on some invisible platform or hanging like to an invisible cable; the wyrdboy may summon the mist personally from his body or use totems, smoke grenades, a cauldron, a blessed engine and/or a specific breed of squigs that constantly produces smog from pipes on their backs or holes on their tusks; the origin of the mist itself is irrelevant as it's just a catalyst for the power of the waaagh and a play on greenskin psyche

instead (or on top) of having the mist possess whatever host available, the wyrdboy may craft specific bodies, often ork-like idols made of stone or mechanical parts

the mist is either multicoloured or brewed with a specific colour, which changes its behaviour and interactions; the famous cunningly brutal red mist will be different from the dreaded brutally cunning purple mist

in absence of a wyrdboy channeling the mist, it will become even more difficult to control and unstable, disappearing fast unless there're enough fighting boys providing warp energy
>>
>>54030300
model wise the mist is a swarm of 40/50/60mm bases
there may be familiars on 25/32mm accompanying characters as one use boosts
the other swarms may also be spent to cast psychic powers, and there're psychic powers to summon or replenish mists swarms
>>
>>54024396
Question. Which of those two is Gork and which is Mork?
>>
>>54031375
The brutal but cunning one is gork, the cunning but brutal one is mork

obviously
>>
>>54024396
>Ork Daemons
Only thing I can think of is if an Ork Warboss starts acting to a monstrous theme of sorts and if it's pretty bad, even to his own boyz, he starts to embody those qualities, notably, thisonly works so long as the Ork in Question is not directly identified by onlookers.

Isn't Mork more of the Ork who represents the older Orks when they were Krorks before the C'tan degenerated them? If anything, an Ork Daemon is effectively born in the same vein as most classical Demon setups, in that they're born from possible collective fear.
>>
>>54031513
>Orks when they were Krorks before the C'tan degenerated them

Is there any actual evidence of this except the slightly different name? I mean we all know Krork are Ork but is there anything that leads people to believe the orks were de-evolved or altered
>>
>>54031375
The brutal but cunning one is mork, the cunning but brutal one is gork

obviously
>>
Are the orks the happiest race in all of 40k? They seem to be enjoying their current situation.
>>
>>54024396
GorkaMorka dont have demons because they are constantly fighting each other and sending every Ork essence into the materium.
>>
>>54024396
They don't/can't exist. The ork collective don't believe in demons of their gods, therefor it is impossible for a ork daemon to exist.
>>
>>54029972
Yes, because it got retconned the same way the final fight was.
>>
>>54029776
Both.
