There's different types of hero though... One can have faith in the people and always seek to lead by example, etc. That's certainly one kind of hero and one that I quite like.

But it's also possible to have no faith in human ability and still be a hero. That's the first type of hero. The second type would simply accept the praise and maybe tell the officer to take the night off, as he's got this, especially if he knows shit's about to go down; he doesn't expect the cop to really make a blind bit of difference, but that's okay, because the hero is there instead. Meanwhile the likes of Supes, or Captain America honestly believes that one ordinary man with the will to stand up against evil can make all the difference.

A hero is someone who fights with the purpose of helping. Someone who believes that what they do will, in the end, help others. It doesn't need to be a sacrificial kind of help, although it can be. It just needs to be done out of a want to help.

The local firefighter, who volunteers when he can to help save people from otherwise harmful situations, that is a hero. The rich man, who gives a percentage of his profits to charities he feels will help the world, that is a hero, too, if a different kind of hero. The woman who works two jobs to make sure she can afford a roof over her child's head is also a different kind of hero. Heroes come in many different shapes and sizes, and some are much more visible than others. But in the end, more of us are heroes than you would think.

Conversely, I don't believe you can be a hero if your aims are selfish, even if they end up doing good. A man who volunteers at the local firefighter's to have a story to impress women, while he may save people, is not a hero in spirit. The same goes for the rich man who donates only for tax cuts, or for the woman who works two jobs so that she has more time away from the child with the roof over their head. One can act like a hero, and even do the world a lot of good, but only those who act on a will to help, only those are true heroes.

Mumen Rider is a true hero. He is well aware of his capabilities choosing to keep his current position as the top class C hero and refusing to move-up to class B due to knowing he is not strong enough. Despite this personal awareness we see him knowingly take on threats to everyday people and rally heroes who have lost their nerve reminding them of what they fight for. On the smaller scale we see him willing to help in minor ways like helping a child retrieve their balloon from a tree not for glory but because it is a nice thing that he can do to make the world a slightly happier place.

We should all be a bit more like Mumen Rider.
