So... anybody have good Convention stories? Cringey ones, fun ones, or How-I-Met-Your-Mother ones? Get any good hauls from a convention?
Bring your own food or shop off-site at nearest regular mall, the convenience of proximity is not worth 400% mark-up.
Watch your belonging, no matter how trustworthy the place and people look.
Bring burner phone card / number, never give your primary number to randoms.
Always assume people can't take joke until proven otherwise.
Deodorant is optional, mint balm is mandatory.
I DM'ed at a convention recently, Adventurers League, and I really hated it. The 2 hour time limits didn't really give the players the chance to really roleplay or be creative, plus I had to railroad the players hardcore. It was still fun and I can see why Adventurers League exists, but I didn't really like it.
I went to a comic con where there was supposedly going to be a lot of MtG happening.
The schedule had a meetup with the location and time clearly stated.
I was the only one who showed up.
