Party comes across a bridge with a troll living under it. The troll informs them that it's five golds per person to pass the bridge. Party shrugs, is about to pay, when the troll suddenly digs his purse and hands each of them five ancient large gold coins.
What manner of bizarre, funny, not particularly serious consequences might the party face from this encounter later?

The coins turn out to be treasure bugs.

The coins are actually shields belonging to some kind of halfling race. The troll kept them as trophies but has since then been hounded by the deads families/the ghosts of the fallen and just wants to get rid of them.
Trolland is trying to drum up tourism. They figure if they pay people 5 gold coins they will get excited and end up spending at least 50. They have also added a promenade to the swamp and remodeled Castle Cra'guhn into a shopping mall with trendy stores and family friendly venues.
Trolls never was themselves so the coins have some really bad diseases and your party if not immune to illness all start to get very sick.

Trolls aren't smart, they don't get the whole money and trade thing so it just thinks if you pay it five gold it pays you five gold.
The coins turn into drow hobos. Drow hobos IN HEAT.
Quick, roll to avoid the filthy drow genitals!

The town after knows about the troll and thinks he's been handing out old coins he dug up since he thinks thats how tolls work, you pay someone to take your bridge instead of another's.
But the troll is actually a servant to a wizard who communicates in his dreams, teleporting the coins demanding he hand them out in order to keep the wizard from tormenting his mind. The coins are scrying tools, the wizard has been watching everyone in the town and been spreading as the coins are integrated into trade.

I hope you put enough ranks into ban evasion, cause you're going to need em.
The coins slowly duplicate, eventually weighing down and smothering anyone foolish enough to carry them.

The troll is just a good person who wants the party to be prepared in case they meet a troll who is tolling his bridge.

Troll gold is a recognized currency for entry into fae realms. If the PCs keep it, they may be able to bribe off border patrol.

They don't even loot the troll for some fucking reason even though they scrounge like magpies on fucking wolves.
They probably also turn back, not crossing the bridge and then complain that theres nothing to do.
