Bandit story hooks

>You are bandits and attack a cart.

>Cart is weaponized, and you have to wait for them to let their guard down which happens fairly regularly as you follow the cart.

>If you attack the cart while their guard is down, the cart owners will run away.

>The cart was stolen by other bandita, now your bandit groups are fighting back and forth over the cart.

>Rewards can be earned by successfully stealing the cart, returning the cart to a town to sell, and/or turning the bandits in.

>You accedentally attack a cart hiding a princess that was being kidnapped, but now the kingdom is looking for you to exacute your party. Maybe the princess is mute by some un known magic, so that though she trusts the bandit party she can't help you if caught.

>A member of the bandit party is actually the rightful hier to the throne and he finds out while the throne is being sat by an evil mad king

>You are part of a larger bandit guild but the leaders have secretly put a crux on every other member of the guild turning them into a small extremely well trained army with aims to over throw thw crown, but the party was somehow immune to the crux and is the only hope to save the crown and the members of the guild

I don't know if I'm any goood scenarios, but thats the first ideas that come to mind

Former knights man-at-arms who decided to ignore the peace treaty between the 2 kings after 20 years of fighting. Many of you don't have a home to go to. You have been living like lords in a conquered castle. Why should you ever want to go back to home?

You form a new kind of military captain, styling yourselves as knights whether you have been knighted or not. You for yourselves into Free Companies, fighting neither for God nor Lord but your Yourselves. You are bands of robbers on a nightmarish scale, hundred to thousand strong.

You spread throughout the kingdom spreading havoc and destruction until you reach and lay siege on residence of the pope where you ask for a "spiritually uplifting sum of money".

>Some bunch of jerks rob and kill in other part of the country and cover their deeds with the name of your gang, wat do (kill because they do what yur last bits of honor disallow you to / let them keep it for more infamy)

A fundamental part of banditry is freedom, you should let them target traders, or set up a protection racket for a small town, even get involved with bigger power struggles, whatever strikes their fancy.
The key to guiding this is of course to dangle juicy bait that would leave any bandit drooling. That rich shipment could be too hard to resist but lay also lay the groundwork for future plots.

Giving them a neat hideout to play around with and the potential to form a larger gang could be good too.
