In my initial games so far vanguard have been a screening force for the rest of my army. Generally they get assaulted turn 2/3 so putting the wargear on the alpha isnt the worst idea.

Tbqh tho troops seem like a waste for Admech at the moment. 5 rangers with snipers seems mandatory for the chance of picking of support characters against some armies but other then that the points are better spent elsewhere(read as heavy support).

We lost all our tools, and gained nothing.

The hyped plague ogryns insta-die on a roll of 1 with their drugs. They have same toughness, same wounds, but gain a 6+ invul save. LOL. They're also more expensive that regular ogryns.

We had more auras in fucking 7th.

Our important characters don't have the CHARACTER RULE so will be shit on by lascannons T1.

Lost the crazy access to cool wargear,
lost all the cool special rules from alt-FoC
, lost the cheap vehicles (we pay same as IG),
our infantry is 1/3th as effective as vanilla conscripts,
lost our veterans,
we lost chemical flamers,
we lost access to mass heavy weapons,
we lost access to mass special weapons in our infantry lists (it used to be flat 2 special weapons PLUS another one per 4-5 models, now it's ONE per FUCKING 10)
The new chaos covenant rules are shitty
We lost the ability to make faux scions
We lost our FUCKING RENEGADE BANEBLADE AURA IN THE FUCKING AURA-EDITION
We lost sniper rifles in the sniper rifle edition
We lost outflanking hordes (mutant rabble useless now)

All our rules are still written in the early 7th mindset, all the drugs are outdated, our expensive boogeyman "moral killers" add 1 to the enemy battle shock test (LOL), unit special rules are watered down and turned into +6 invuls (not FNP) or "re-rolls 1 in this very specific scenario where you're dead already"

No plague zombies,
no "special" synergy with CSM or Chaos anymore,
no banner spam,
no squad demagogue sergeants
no access to special (outdated) FW tanks,

Our "mortal wound" options are worse than generic army variants, even if the ruling is exactly the same. Instead of 1d6 mortal wounds we deal "1", always.

Zhadsnark looks like being an auto-include if you want a Warboss on a bike with PK. He's only 110 points whereas a Warboss on Warbike with a Power Klaw is 111. Zhard gets:

+1 Movement
+1 Wound
+1 Attack
+18" range on his guns
+1 AP on his Power Klaw, along with 6's to hit causing automatic additional mortal wound on Monsters or Infantry.
Automatic 6" advance move instead of D6

About the only benefit I can see of the vanilla Warboss is that he can do Breaking 'Eads on non-Evil Suns units.

People are complaining that FW has released reasonably priced rules, but they're written even worse than GW's indices, with models completely lacking options that they have rules for, being completely unable to fire their weapons, hitting on not a 3+ but a flat 3, and so on. Nearly every non-space marine FW unit I've seen has had a fuckup as bad as infinite celestines.

Hierodules are decent, shooty one is better than choppy, they're proper knight-equivalents now. Harridan is cool but lacks a good niche. hierophant is insanely killy against titan-esque units with shooting but not so great for its points in CC, thankfully it can spawn a tarpit of genestealers complete with broodlord. Overall the hierodules are buffed to knight-equivalency, hierophant is now average for its price like all big titans, but its good against massive centrepiece models like lighter enemy titans-compare it to a warhound and enjoy the erection.

The Burst Cannon variant of this is hardly awful, though not amazing either and Tau aren't hurting for S5 spam platforms.

Unique weapons are garbage though.

Best use I can think of for this model is as a proxy for a four fusion commander.

it looks pretty decent, however I have the older sonic lance variant which will be great for roasty-toasty elite infantry. The pulsar variant looks decidedly mediocre and I think a pair of fire prisms will do the same job for about the same price with more flexibility.

So I've read conflicting reports about the valkyrie's space flight capabilities. FW says they're atmosphere only, but some GW stuff has had them deploy from orbit.

So how would valks deploy from navy ships. Does it enter the upper atmosphere to deploy and pick them up? Or can valks break through into orbit?
